TWO Films To Look Out For...In 2016!

"Risen" will be released in 2016 and if the trailer is anything to go by, it looks to be a very good film.   And the most extraordinary thing, the same English actor (Joseph Fiennes) will also be in another movie that I would like to see, "The Last Race" which is about Eric Liddell.  (Remember the runner from "Chariots of Fire" the man from Scotland who refused to run a race in the Olympics on the Sabbath?  I wrote about him before from a few years ago...you may read that post just here.)

I am very much looking forward to both of these films! Let me know what you think of the trailer. I think it looks very interesting indeed!

The family reunion this weekend was great!  My mother in law has an expression, "every time a lamb baahs, it loses a bite"... and I fear that applied to me at this family get-together, I did quite a bit of talking!  Best thing....my Dad enjoying everyone and thrilled that everyone loved his food so much!  Also, an eight year old boy tapped me on the arm and said those most magical words to me, "I like your brownies".   All the diamonds in the world could not make me as happy as those sweet words!  JOY!

American beautyberry, so beautiful it does not look real!

  1. It surely looks impressive, that trailer.

Your family gathering sounds like great fun, great food, great company! So nice of the little boy to tell you he liked your brownies - most children would not even have cared to know who made them, as long as they were there for them to eat :-)

    1. I know! I hope the movie will be good, sometimes the trailer is better than the movie! (A Walk In the Woods, for example!)
That little boy and his sister (both distant cousins of mine) were not only intelligent and polite but very cute kids!

  2. Hooray for wonderful brownies! You are right that when a child loves your food, s/he will let you know, and it's the highest compliment.

  3. There's another movie coming out too about the childhood of Jesus. Sorry, can't remember what it's called right now. Sean Bean (Lord Eddard Stark from the Game of Thrones) plays a Roman centurian in it.

  5. The little boy shows that he has had a good raising. He was taught to be polite and appreciative. Good for his parents. I am so glad the reunion was a success.

    1. He was such a cutie! His name was LANDON, almost like LONDON in England, he told me, but LANDON. Oh my, I so wanted to take him home with me and his little sister too!

  6. Sometimes, probably more often than not...and more often than adults...it is the children who say it best...with no hidden agendas....just as it is...upfront and honest. :)

  8. Love that your reunion went well - and that the small person told you that your brownies were sooooo good.
Those berries look incredible. Do they taste as good as they look?

And the berries are for the birds, we have a small bush and the birds have eaten all of them! Incredible color, don't you think?

  12. The sincere compliments of children are always a joy! What a lovely reunion that was!
A favorite song of mine from before the days of CDs was Twila Paris's "He is No Fool" about Eric Liddell..

    1. I have never heard the song but I just watched it on YouTube and it had clips from the movie, "Chariots of Fire". I hope that do a good job with the new one coming out next year. I have been waiting for someone to make a movie about Eric Liddell!

  14. The trailer does look good though it's not something I'd generally choose to watch. Thanks for the tip-off about 'Walk in the woods'! Luckily we were going to see the new Maze Runner which was very good. Sweet boy - I bet your brownies were amazing. x

    1. If it looks good, you should go and see it! I am sorry to say that I did not like "A Walk In The Woods"! Oh dear, it's a shame since it could have been good!
My brownies were perfectly fine, but I like to put them into little baking cases, you know like for cupcakes, and I think just because they look pretty makes them even better than they are. All about the presentation, honey! xx

  15. I'll look out for the movie(s) - thanks. Our local cinema has just stopped showing 'Gone With The Wind'. No one's ever said they liked my brownies before..!

    1. So, Gone With the Wind really is Gone With The Wind! (Ha, couldn't resist, sorry.)
Confession time...I am a terrible baker and cook. I have only one sweet thing that I bake and take places...brownies and only one thing that I cook that is any good...a big pot of chili. THAT"S IT!! Oh well! :-)
