Waterloo Sunset

We have someone close to us just now visiting London.  A Waterloo Sunset would be nice!  And fish & chips is also wished for him!  Please note, most of the fish that you have at a fish and chip shop has a wonderful breading on the fish, but we found a nice fish & chip shop that made this cod WITHOUT any breading and therefore is gluten free. This photo is from a visit from about five years ago...I was just trying to get a nice photo for you!
 Look at those chips!

  1. You picture makes me hungry. When I saw your headline I just knew you were resurrecting "Waterloo" by Stonewall Jackson. Then someone else said maybe it was "Waterloo" by ABBA. You surprised both of us.

    1. I know the one by ABBA but I will have to find the other one on YouTube, don't know that one!
I am full of surprises! HA!

    1. Thank you, Amy! We don't often take photos of food but when it is fish & chips, that's something else! xx

    1. You know, Sue, I also write quotation marks around homesick but I don't think we should, after all that is the way we feel even if it is not our home, the English need to come up with a different word if they protest about it! :-) And thanks for those well wishes, the English visitor is flying home today, wishing him a safe journey home. xx

  4. They are the kind of chips Steve used to make at home for us. Lovely!
Looking at the fish made me realize that it's been months since I've last eaten any.

    1. Oh yes, the English chips, they should be very proud of them, I think!
And didn't you have any fish & chips when you were in Yorkshire? I would have! :-)

    2. No - it just never happened :-) We mostly made our own meals, and the few times we were eating out, it was with family at pubs, not at a chippie. We did want to get fish & chips on our last night before leaving, but didn't expect the chippie to shut at 8.00 pm - we'd been to say good-bye to Mary and arrived at the shop 10 past 8...

  5. Very nice that they leave off the breading for those who can't have it. It's so difficult, at times, to convince people that you really do have a dietary restriction.

  6. Hi Kay! As you know, I've been vegetarian for about 20 years now. One of the only things I miss is fish & chips. When people ask me if I miss any "meat" and I say fish & chips, they always laugh!! :-)
