London Photos (Like Father/Like Son)

Anybody remember that I wished a Waterloo Sunset for someone close to us who was visiting England?  I can tell you now that it was our son!  He is back home now and he had a wonderful time in London! Who would not, I ask you?  If you are tired of London, you are tired of life! (No, I wasn't the first one to say it, but I mean it!)

At Kensington Palace, he took a photo of one of the grand carriages...but I was just as impressed by this photo of the horse in the royal horse stable.

These could be post cards, in my humble opinion! (IMHO, as they say in text speak these days!)

Hey! Would you like to hear our son's beautiful speaking voice?
I found a video that he made (remembering that he works for The Beer Connoisseur Magazine!) but the best thing about it-hearing Christopher's voice!

  1. That IS a wonderful speaking voice indeed. Wow. And his photos from London are certainly enjoyable. Thanks for sharing! BTW, I once saw one of those grand golden carriages in the deserts of Arizona at Lake Havasu, the town that now sports the old London Bridge. They are very stunning in person . . . not really my style, but remarkable for sure.

    1. My husband is very good at photography and until I saw these photos, I really had no idea that our son must have gotten this talent from him!
The photo of the horse is more appealing to me than the carriage, but that's just me!

  2. Oh yes! He has a very smooth, lovely voice indeed. I could listen to him read (or sing) anything.

  3. Great pictures!! I've not been to London in nearly 9 years, because every time I am in England, I spend all my time in Yorkshire. But I really want to go again.
The quote about being tired of London etc. is, I think, from Samuel Pepys, right?

    1. Thanks, Meike! And you know, if you had gone to London you might have been able to see him, I think you were both in England at the same time!
The quote is from Samuel Johnson!

  4. That carriage looks like something from a Disney cartoon. It is simply gorgeous.

    1. Like Sara says in the first comment, it must be something to see it in person. Even so, big houses and carriages are really for others, I have become a bit of nut about nature!

  5. I bet you're happy to have your son back close to home. He has a lovely speaking voice. I love a good speaking voice in a man...my ex has a beautiful voice...and when we first met so many years ago when we were both in our teens, he was a radio announcer. :)

    1. I am glad he is home and that he had such a great time! Christopher has a great speaking voice, I agree! As a child, he had a bit of an English accent and even though he does not have it now, you might tell how well he enunciates his words! I think that C. could be a radio announcer BESIDES being a great singer on the radio! :-)

  6. Great video - impressive speaking voice and wonderfully dreadful puns! The quote about being tired of London was originally Samuel Johnson - and it's all very well, but he didn't have to put up with the traffic :-)

    1. Wonderfully dreadful puns, oh my yes, you have that just right! After I put this on here, I kept hearing his voice say "George W. BUSSHHH" and it sounded just like a beer can opening!
Yes! Samuel Johnson! And we were pleased to see a stained glass window at Southwark Cathedral with an image of Samuel Johnson!
Every time I see London, I am surprised by the added amount of traffic, including all the crazy bikers!

    1. He was also able to visit his grandparents in Eastbourne too before he went to London, so that was the best part of his trip! Glad you like his photos!

    1. Hey Audrey!
I think I could live in that horse stable with the green tile! Isn't it pretty? Glad you liked the photos! Did you listen to C's video? It's a bit of a giggle but his voice is worth hearing, I think!
Lovely to see your comment here!!!

  12. Try 21 years of London and you will be tired of it.
Not sure that is London anyway, the sky was blue! That can't be right!
