2020 Is The Grinch

2020 is the Grinch, trying to stop Christmas from coming...

but somehow or other, it came, just the same!

2020 says, "How can it be so?

How can you celebrate Christmas

when you are home all alone?

When you can only see loved ones

by computer or phone?"

Then 2020 thought of something he hadn't before

maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more...

What happened then?

Well, on Earth they do say that

2020's heart grew three sizes that day.

And then, when his heart didn't feel quite so tight,

he exclaimed with a great deal of delight,

"There's a new year on the hori-ZUN,

I give you... Twenty, Twenty ONE!"

And as the Grinchy 2020 departs,

He says, "Don't dislike me too much -

now you appreciate what is most dear to your hearts".

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Merry Christmas

And Happy New Year!

"All I want for Christmas is a rock and roll electric guitar".

  1. Aaaw, that was sweet! Yes, in spite of "all this", we should not dislike 2020 too much, especially not if we and our loved ones are still alright and around.
I feel blessed in so many ways, and have plenty to be grateful for - in 2020 as much as in 2019.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, dear Kay!

  4. Merry Christmas to you, and your fellows. Kay, I see that tall boy in the school play. Adorable. Once upon a long time ago...my Angie was Bambi mom's in a school play...I had to miss it, as I was hired by G.M. . I needed that job for my family. I never got over missing that play. Blessings, stay safe. xoxox, love susie.

  19. Love the photo of Richard and Christopher, Kay! 2020 was a tragic year for our country and the world. Terry and I came through it relatively unscathed, and somehow it feels unreal. Thank goodness for modern technology. Terry and I could be with our families, see our families at Christmastime, even though we were physically separated. That is a wonderful thing! Have a great week, my friend!
