Hey! This TV ad is from Christmas time last year from Britain but I think you can forgive me for not knowing about it. After all, I live in America!
"I saw it first!"
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Didn't!"
"Did!"
"Didn't!"
"DIDDDDDD!" That last word in the very high note from Mariah Carey!
What a great ad!
This is 2020, my friends! It takes very, very little to make me happy. Just give me some Quavers and a funny TV ad...I'm good. Oh, and if Santa could find some good gluten free food for my husband, that would be nice also!
HEY! You know you want to see one more! With a song by ELVIS! I mean, can this post get any better? Enjoy!
Christmas humour is special, isn't it - we sort of turn into children again, with even the smallest things making us happy and laugh. Not that we're not happy about small things all year round - we certainly are - but it is this time of year that is truly special, I find.
ReplyDeleteAnd I bet you have Walker's Crisps when you visit your family in Yorkshire! Of course, you didn't get to go this year but hopefully, next year, right? Seems like little things are even more important this year, seems so to me anyway. Take care!
DeleteThe Mariah Carey ad makes me laugh so much and hats off to her for embracing her diva reputation! There's a programme here called 'snackmasters' and two top chefs go head to haed trying to recreate a popular food item and last week it was QUAVERS!! I had to go buy some the next day because I wanted them so so much!
ReplyDeleteOur son had a special fondness for QUAVERS! We once had to leave quite a bit of space in our suitcase for a big bag of them on our return trip back to the States! :-)
DeleteHa ha, both those ads rock!
ReplyDeleteHA! Glad you liked them! You have such funny things on your blog, I finally got something on mine to make YOU laugh! :-)
DeleteThose ads are great! So clever. My daughter is gluten-free also and it is hard to find tasty gluten-free items and when I do, they are often quite expensive!
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me smile with those videos!
I hear ya on those gluten free foods! And very often, they are not very good either!! It's gotten better over the years but we still are very pleased when we have something gluten free and it actually tastes good!
DeleteCommercials that make me laugh are the ones that make me more likely to buy the product.
ReplyDeleteSometimes if the ad is very clever I will not remember what is being advertised!
DeleteThese are much more clever than what i've seen lately. Those must be good, whatever they are.
ReplyDeleteCrisps are what we call potato chips here in the USA. And Walker's is a famous crisp company in the UK. They can afford good TV ads!
DeleteYou won't believe it but just today I saw Walker's Crisps. Acorn tv gave a link to https://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/ And there they were! I am a Walker by birth so maybe they are my rels!
ReplyDeleteGet in touch with them, Nan- see if you can get into the Walker Crisps family! :-)
DeleteLove the commercials, and that's rare for me. How come Mariah never shows up with a gift for me?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Ha, ha! Looks like she likes to give gifts just not her Walkers Crisps!!
DeleteI don't know what Walker's Crisps are but the commercials are funny! Yep, it's good to laugh this year! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWe sure do need to laugh, especially this year. Here's hoping that 2021 will be better. Take care, my friend! x
DeleteI'm a big fan of Walkers crisps but they are just too tasty. I can easily munch five packets at one go watching a film out of a 12 multi pack which is probably why I have a bowling ball where my stomach should be.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, and there you are buying those 12 pack thinking that will make you just eat that one little packet! :-)
DeleteAnd you have so many flavors...sorry flaVOURS!
I've never heard of Walkers Crisps, but now you've made me want to look for it somewhere. I don't think I've seen it in Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteA crisp in England is what we would call a potato chip.
DeleteAnd I've never met a potato chip I didn't like! :-)
