You Can Invent A New Cadbury's Dairy Milk! (Sorry, Only For Those In The UK)

Oh, to be in England just now!  England beat Columbia today in penalty kicks in the World Cup!  How exciting!  I was able to get home  just in the nick of time to see the end of this match...it was nail biting but England won!  I know that there are lots of women who don't care one jot about sports...I am NOT one of them! HA!
(The Atlanta Braves beat the New York Yankees in the 11th inning last night! They are playing them again tonight and even though they are behind just now, is it possible they can come back and win it?...we will see!)

Now, what was it I was going to tell you about? Oh yes...chocolate!  Cadbury's is developing a new chocolate bar and they are asking for your help! Isn't that the neatest thing?  Only, it looks as if you must be in Britain to do so.  As I said, "Oh, to be in England just now!"    So, if any of my British followers are reading this post, please go to this site...  cadburyinventor.com
and create your own Cadbury Dairy Milk!  (Note to my American friends...we say "candy bar" in America but I have never heard it called that in England, it is always called a "chocolate bar"!)
So...to be clear, this is only open to residents of the United Kingdom- England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland,  aged 16 and older.

Sorry about my lopsided photo of Cadbury's Roses up there, it was the only one that I had that showed the lovely name of Cadbury!

Oh and Happy Independence Day to me and to my fellow Americans...happy 4th of July tomorrow for everyone else!

  2. Germans can't enter, either, but I don't mind - I will have plenty of Cadbury's chocolate bars during my Yorkshire holiday in autumn :-)
My sister and I watched the England match last night, too (it was on at 8:00 pm our time, so just perfect for us), see today's post on my blog.
Happy 4th of July to you and your loved ones, Kay!

    1. Hey! I wish I could go to Yorkshire with you, you have made me love it even though I have never been there!
Saw my Dad today after I got off work and we went to see SUNFLOWERS!! They were gorgeous. x

  3. I find it strange that an American owned company like Cadburys with factories all over the world limit it to the UK market as it says Mondelez Europe. Must be something to do with UK chocolate content or other
regulations/ marketing strategy/takeover pledges to keep it 'British' taste wise as they recently moved a lot of their production costs (and factories)to China, Brazil and Eastern Europe to save money. Still based at Bournville, Birmingham but like most UK brands these days it's all
a bit murky. So you are effectively in England Kay in one sense :o) Happy 4th of July.

    1. I know that Cadbury's is owned by an American company but trust me, the English chocolate IS different than what it is in America! Just being honest!
Thanks for the 4th of July good wishes. Now, will you please go and design that chocolate bar at the site I gave you? Pretty please? Wish I could !!

  4. Colombia must be in riots right now. I've never seen people so into soccer-football like Latin America. I know Brazil didn't take it so well four years ago.

    1. I know they are crazy about it. But hey, England won the World Cup in 1966. That is right, 1966... so anytime they advance in the World Cup it must be so thrilling for them!

  5. I'm a lover of dark chocolate, so I very rarely eat milk chocolate..but I won't decline the offer if or when it's given to me. :)

We say "lollies" down this way, not "candy"...and chocolate is "chocolate" - block or bar.

    1. So funny, our English language, how different it can be in England/Australia/Canada!

  6. Hi Kay - it's great England won - though I'm not a fan of football ... don't tell anyone!! British chocolate is different I agree - not sure I can come up with a new chocolate though ... cheers Hilary

  7. Hmmm. You've reminded me that, somewhere in the house, I have a tine of Cadbury's Roses but where it is I have no idea.

  8. Happy 4th of July! Yes, "candy bar" is purely an America term, I believe. In Britain and Canada (and presumably the rest of the Commonwealth), we say "chocolate bar" no matter how many additional ingredients it has in it besides chocolate.

  9. The only Cadbury I have eaten is the eggs they make at Easter. They are deliciously rich and after just one I'm finished until next Easter.

    1. And I like the ones with caramel, not the ones that have the white middle bit, but then, I LOVE caramel! :-)

  10. Happy 4th July Kay. I love Cadbury Roses chocolates, they have often been my go-to as a quick gift. What a neat idea to have consumer participation in a new product. While I can't contribute I look forward to seeing the results...eventually!

  12. Hi, Kay! I may very well be in Brighton, England during the first part of September! I can't wait. We called "candy bars" "chocolate bars" in Canada, and to this day, I call them chocolate bars. Old habits die hard! Take care, my friend!

    1. OH! I wish I could meet up with you in Brighton! Do you know the song that was always played at the Revivals by Billy Graham, the one that was always used for the altar calls, "Just As I Am"? It was written by a woman from Brighton, I have always wanted to see the church that she attended there. (I saw the Royal Pavillion in Brighton...that is NOT my cup of tea! LOL)
