Cheesy Corn Muffins - Oct. 22, 2014 |
|
Eastbourne, England - Oct. 22, 2015 |
October! It has always been a special month, the weather here in Georgia starts to cool down and the leaves change into gorgeous yellows, reds and browns. (Last year, we were in England in October...and it was lovely there too!) I thought it would be fun to show you the photos from the same date in October.
Sending best wishes to Scriptor Senex (John) who not only had a birthday this weekend, but also celebrated the arrival of TWO grandchildren! Talk about October being a special month!
You may send your best wishes to Scriptor and you may find his blog just here! Cheers, John! I am very happy for you and Jo and all your family!
Walking on the Rockdale River Trail...Oct. 22, 2016
Kay, that sunset image is spectacular. Print an enlargement and hang it on your wall!
ReplyDeleteAnd for goodness sake, share the recipe for those cheesy corn muffins! :)
I will tell Richard that you like that photo. He is always admiring your photos too!
DeleteI will try to remember how I made those muffins, any time I make something good, it is by accident! LOL.
Such lovely things as October brings! The muffins look luscious.
ReplyDeleteThe muffins are good with soup or chili, perfect for Autumn days!
DeleteMy favorite month! It's fun to see how pretty it is all over the world!
ReplyDeleteI think October can be chilly in England sometimes, but when we were there, it was warm and sunny. x
DeleteYou look great silhouetted against the sunset on your beloved mountain!
ReplyDeleteThere's something almost kind of spiritual about that photo.
DeleteI always ask Richard to take any photos of me from a distance, the further away the better! :-)
DeleteLove pictures, Kay! I especially like the ones from this year (although I must say I want to bite into the one with the muffins!).
ReplyDeleteWe were grateful we could get out for that walk this weekend, not been able to walk as much lately!
DeleteMy corn muffins are not as good as my Dad's but hey, they look good! :-)
Thanks very much, Kay. The arrival of Toby and Katie is the very best present one could get.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo from 2012 and I'd like a cheesy corn muffin; they look delicious!
Oh good, I am glad you saw this! AND I love what your wrote on your post, influenced by GWTW!
DeleteThat sunset must have been something to behold!
ReplyDeleteWe have seen some spectacular sunsets at Arabia Mountain, I am not kidding, they should come with trumpets!
DeleteOh those golden Autumn leaves are wonderful. What a clever idea looking back at the same date each year. I love the blue heron - a great shot. Do you go to England every year?
ReplyDeleteWe go to England as much as we can, and lately, we have been going once a year. Wish we could go more often!
DeleteFall is beautiful and so are your pictures today. October brings the best of both the good and the bad it seems...Hope this new week is a wonderful one for you !
ReplyDeleteThanks, MA! Hope all is well with you too!
DeleteCongrats indeedd to John. October is going to be a very busy month for him now. My favourite part about October, other than the leaves changing, is that all the squirrels come out of hiding. I've seen more squirrels in the past few weeks than I have all year.
ReplyDeleteIf you love squirrels, I will send you all the squirrels from my yard, they are here year round. I think the grey squirrel is not native to Britain and is becoming a problem there. Truth is, it is a pest here but no one wants to admit it!

DeleteYour trees are ahead of ours, just barely beginning to change color down here.
ReplyDeleteThey really just started here too. Wish it would rain.
DeleteBeautiful photographs - I especially like the one of Eastbourne, what a glorious sight to see.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
The beach at Eastbourne is beautiful! Might see you there one day!
DeleteThe scenery in the just makes me feel good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma! Indians and Cubs have one win each now!

DeleteBeautiful photos. I love October--it is probably my favorite month--well, I love September, too. We will lose the last of our leaves this week, I think. Enjoy yours while they last. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOur leaves usually peak the first week of November here. They seem to be better when we have had rain and we have had hardly any of that!
DeleteLovely shot pf the sea!
ReplyDeleteI prefer spring myself.
I love spring too but it only lasts about five minutes in Georgia and then BAM it's summer!!

DeleteVery nice photos. I like those corn muffins a lot.
ReplyDeleteBit sad to take photos when you have made good looking food, but I am not a good cook so you won't see my food very often! Those muffins were good though.
DeleteIt will soon be November days with the first day of November being this coming Tuesday! This year has flown by!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, November is nearly here! Tempus fugit!
DeleteThat scenery - just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a lovely October too. Just sun, sun and more sun. End of October and now it is raining! Oh well........
And I didn't say, but my header was also taken in October at our stone mountain!!!

DeleteI really love that first photo, Kay. Sigh... Fall colors are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the photos that you have shown us when you visit Illinois. It must be really hard to live in such an area as yours, the beautiful beaches of Hawaii! LOL!
