Two Pauls

John F. Kennedy once said at a White House dinner honoring Nobel Prize winners,  " I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House, with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

When I saw Paul McCartney and Paul Simon perform together in the show celebrating the 40th anniversary of the TV show, "Saturday Night Live", and thought of their great songwriting talents, it reminded me of this quote.  By the way, if you click on John F. Kennedy's name above, that will take you to the entire speech that he gave.  Also, if you ever want to read an interesting book about JFK, I would recommend "Johnny, We Hardly Knew Ye" by Kenneth O'Donnell.

NOT working this weekend and seeing my Dad! We hope to see a concert by the same band that we saw last year in March, The Dove Brothers Band.  Music!  It is such a good thing in the world, or it can be!  I will let you know about the concert!  I see that the song that I had on YouTube on my post about them last year has now been taken off...that is a shame since I worked so hard to find a good one that had good sound quality!  Oh well.  Take care everyone and keep a song in your heart!
That's our son on the left...performing his own songs! July 2013

  3. When you think about the collection of great minds who were instrumental in the founding of our country you become awestruck. At what other time in the history of the world were so many brilliant people working toward a common goal. And we exist still in spite of many efforts to strike us down.

  4. Hi Kay, My ex and I saw McCartney live concert "Wings over the World" when he toured here Down Under in the late 80s. It was a great night, to say the least! My ex saw Simon & Garfunkel in Madison Square Garden when he, my ex was living in New York in the late 60s to mid-1974.

I love music, too...my taste is wide and varied.

Enjoy the concert and time spent with your Dad. :)
