Aimee Copeland/ Kyle Maynard

http://aimeecopeland.org/amputees-copeland-and-maynard-finally-meethere./

Anybody remember Aimee Copeland that I did a post about last year?  Aimee lost her limbs to a flesh eating bacteria. She is one amazing young woman with such a great joy of life that she could have a career as a motivational speaker.  Look at her now!        If you watch that video, you will see her sign her name with her brand new bionic hands, and her handwriting is MUCH better than my own!  (Even the man in charge of teaching Aimee to use her new hands seemed amazed at her quick progress with them!)

I also did a post about Kyle Maynard last year. Kyle was born with stumps for hands and his legs end at his knees.  Kyle also has a very positive outlook on life and he IS an inspirational speaker.  He is also a very fine athlete who climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro last year!  (He trained on Stone Mountain, and I so WISH I could have met him there!)  Both Aimee and Kyle are from Georgia and in fact live very close to each other.  I wondered if it was possible that they had ever met.  Well, they DID meet!   I just found a video where they attended the same dinner and I have it here for you.  (It is at the top of this post, just click on that link.).   They are both so good-looking! And don't they just seem so darn nice that you want to meet them and be friends with them?

We keep this plant in the garage over the winter and bring it out when the danger of frost is over.  This Gaillardia comes back beautifully every year, bringing this wonderful color into the world.
Life tries so hard.  Isn't it wonderful?

    1. I know! And it makes any complaints that we may have seem very small!

  2. Dear Kay, the stories of Aimee and Kyle are truly inspirational and put anyone to shame who has a tendency to moan about minor "problems". How fitting, the picture of the two flowers so bright and beautiful!

I see you have a spam problem as well. The comment from "Anonymous" has nothing to do with your post (as you probably know) and merely aims at directing others to the website linked in the comment. I hope nobody has clicked it yet.
For a long time, I only received the occasional spam comment, but over the last few weeks, it's become massive and I have even briefly considered activating word verification.

    1. Thanks, the two flowers together just seem to fit this post. And I even took that photo!

Yes, you saw this post before I did this morning, I delete these comments as quickly as I can. I have been bothered for some time with them and like you, I have thought of using the word verification, but I hate to do that since I know how hard it is for ME when I have to do that on other blogs!

  5. The seed dies, something new springs to life. The life Aimee or Kyle could have had "if" dies, they bring something new to life. Reminders that G-d brings newness.

    Enjoy those flowers!

    1. If you watch the video, Aimee even calls it being "re-born"!

  6. The flowers are very appropriate for your post. Just like they come back every year, we can come back from things in life that could put us down. I have always admired anyone that has overcome a physical handicap. We all should remember that there are many worse off than we are that somehow continue on. Attitude means a lot and it's a choice we can all make. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.

    1. She tickled me when she said that they were telling her the best way to drive her van, "This is the way KYLE does it".
Aimee and Kyle just seem like two people that I would like to know, they just happen to have to deal with things that I don't!
