All Over The World (ELO)

Hope you enjoy this video as much as I do! ("All Over The World" by ELO!)  My favorite...the older women dancing and one of them is even in a wheelchair! Isn't that great? If this doesn't make you want to dance around the room, nothing will! (Of course, this was filmed YEARS ago when no one was practicing social distancing which I hope you are all doing at this time!)

I hope this photo will remind you of another ELO song, "Mr. Blue Sky"!  This is the lake that was re-filled at Panola Mountain State Park! Remember when I told you that they drained it to build a new dam? YAY! It's back now!

I wanted to share this note on the front door of a church in our area.
In Georgia, our governor is lifting the state wide shelter in place order as of tomorrow, May 1st.  In protest today, funeral directors drove their hearses past the Governor's mansion. I found this incredibly moving. Will everyone remember to keep six feet apart? Remember to wash their hands? And wear a mask if in public?  I sincerely hope so.

All Over The World...tell me if you like the video and if it makes you smile!  Take care everyone!

  1. Love the video of course. I am hoping that things won't be opened too soon. I want this to be over.

    1. ME and you both. Caution should be used, I think.

  2. I really liked your video. It was nice to see a bunch of people having fun, and close together, without masks! I think Kemp cares too much about business and not enough about people. They hardly tested people in GA. I’m not returning to my Cobb County house until June at least as I am scared. Be safe, take care.

    1. Glad you liked the video, it was very joyful and as you say, nice to see all of them not thinking of being so close together! If you are in an area where there are fewer people, I would stay there! You stay safe and hope to see you in Cobb County one day, if only to wave to!

  3. ELO have some great music, I've known them since I was a child and fortunately both the past and the present man in my life love their music, too.
It is a big issue in my country whether churches are allowed to open or not; after all, practicing one's religion is a basic human right, and why would it be more dangerous for a person's health to go to church than to visit the supermarket?
I do not envy our politicians for the decisions they are facing these days.

    1. Of course any of the men in your life would like ELO, they would all have good taste! :-)
I can understand the churches being closed myself, for one thing, so many are elderly and after all, those are the ones who are most at risk. Still, it hurts to see church doors closed when I know for a fact that the church door that I have shown you has hardly ever been bolted. Until now, that is.
I wish we had better leadership during this pandemic. I wish we had better leadership...period!

  4. Nice to see that lake back again. Can't beat cool water on a hot day even if it's only to look at, without going in. It still refreshes you somehow.

    1. I so agree! There is just something about looking out upon an open expanse of water, even if it is only a small lake!
Hope you are well and still can get out for a walk during this time!

  5. I'm hoping everyone keeps their safe distance, I'm not ready to go out in the world yet, and will stay home as I've been doing. We have to be careful or the disease will spread and we'll get shut down again.

    1. Saw on the news that Georgia had 1000 new cases of the virus today, on the same day that the statewide stay at home was lifted. It has not gotten better but the roads were much busier today. It is an eerie thing.

  6. Fun video! That's how we will ALL be dancing in the streets when there's a coronavirus vaccine and the quarantine is finally truly over!

    1. You better believe it! I will look like those white haired women! But hey, that's okay with me, I thought they did a great job! Bring on that vaccine and I promise you that I WILL dance in the street!

  7. It’s great that the church is being responsible unlike some other churches. I hope more people will practice staying a safe distance.

    1. Six feet away...at LEAST! They were telling us on the Atlanta news that is about the length of a ski. What adult can't judge six feet? I just don't understand...

  8. I love seeing the lake filled. I hope the beautiful bridge is still there....I think it might be difficult to keep the right distances in a church. But there are some good online services, and we are always told the church is the people, not the building. Still, it is a loss.
Lovely music. I am not really familiar with this group. There were years when I was so busy raising little kids that I missed a lot!

    1. Yes! The bridge is still there!
Absolutely, the church would be the people, not the building and yet, it is sad to see the closed and locked doors of the churches.
ELO! Oh, I love them! I have written about Jeff Lynne before (the lead singer). Look up The Traveling Wilburys also, they were: Jeff Lynne, GEORGE HARRISON, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbinson! Talk about TALENT!
I know what you mean...we only had one child but if we see a film was popular in the early 90's and we don't know one thing about it, we remember that was when our son was very young and we were busy!! :-)

  9. What strange times we live in. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've sort of unwillingly retired, but maybe will un-retire later this year if it seems right.

    1. Dennis! So good to see your comment here! This might give you an opportunity to get some of your poetry published. Just an idea!
These are strange times and if you are retired that is such a different way of life. I hope you are coping well. Let me encourage you and give you hope...that is what you have always done for others! Hope you are well. Take care.

    1. Georgia is one of the first states to re open businesses. The virus rate here has not gone down but people walking around like it's over. Bit scary, supposed to practice social distancing at 6 feet. I told my husband looks like Georgians think 2 feet is 6 feet. Wish us luck!

  12. Oh gosh! Our governor is reopening a lot of the retail businesses too. It’s very scary. The Honolulu mayor is not for it. We’ll see what happens.

  13. I love ELO! I'm glad that your lake is refilled, Kay. I do remember when it was being drained. That hearse protest was an excellent and very sad. Now I've got "Mr. Blue Sky" stuck in my head ~ LOL! All the best to you!
