God Can Use You Poem

God Can Use You

The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember...
Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal
Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt
John the Baptist ate bugs
Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
Zaccheus was too small
Paul was too religious
Timothy had an ulcer...
AND Lazarus was dead!

I wish I could say that I had written this, but I did not.  It did take me a while to find it though, since the last line was all I could remember of it.

  1. Brilliant. I must share that with some of my friends.

I'm not overly religious but I don't mind others talking about their religionn though I suppose it's like anything else on a blog it needs to be in moderation. And as far as the Bible is concerned I think it's a wonderful piece of literature as well as the basis of certain faiths.

  2. Hello Kay:
What a very splendid poem which does, indeed, put one's own shortcomings into some kind of perspective. And whilst we are practising members of the Church of England, both in Budapest and Brighton, we do maintain that faith, and belief in God, are very personal things and may be expressed in all manner of different and individual ways.

  3. Hi Kay, I never discuss religion but that poem made me smile!

  4. You can say what you like on your own blog Kay. That's what it is for. Politics and religion are best used in moderation in my opinion.
The poem is good. It seems to say that we are all human.

  5. Dear Kay, you put on your blog whatever is on your mind, and whatever you want to share with us about your life. If your faith is an important part of your life, then of course it will feature on your blog more or less regularly.
And if someone is not interested in that particular part of your life, they can simply skip that post and wait for the next one :-)

  6. Thank you.

Yes, it can be difficult to talk about this topic. The more you do, though, the easier it gets.

  7. I am going to share this on facebook. I have seen it before, but not for a while, and it is irrefutable!
