Let's Move It! (With Music)

Don't you think it would be a good idea to get in and out of buildings quickly these days? Now, if you have medical issues and cannot move with any degree of swiftness that is one thing but if not, then you should try to move with a sense of urgency.  I have a good song for you to keep in the back of your mind and this might help...

There! I hope that will make you smile and also appreciate the amazing Glen Campbell. Not only was he a songwriter and singer but an amazingly talented guitarist!  Sadly he is no longer with us but his music will live forever.

Just saw a bit of a film recently and I think I have mentioned how much I love Doris Day.  Hope you love this video as much as I do! I would like to tie up this virus in a box and throw it into the deep blue sea! (No wait, I am afraid it might hurt the oceans...so never mind, but you get my meaning!)

Enjoying the butterflies in our garden just now. The Mexican sunflowers (Tithonia) that we plant for seed might look a bit weedy but they are worth it for the butterflies. (And we saw the Mexican sunflowers blooming at Lewes Castle in England once. Very happy to recognize them there.  Of course, this was years ago. We have not been to England in 2020!)

Take care everyone and remember, keep moving!  Look for beauty! (Look at that blue on this eastern tiger swallowtail...that means it is a female. Oh, it makes me smile sweetly knowing that fact. It's the little things.)

  2. Two of my old favourite singers - always a treat! How lovely to have those stunning butterflies in your garden. We get birds, but not butterflies. The Tiger swallowtail is fantastic.

    1. Of course you would love them both, you have excellent taste.
I wonder why you don't get butterflies? You will have to tell me.
The tiger swallowtail is our state butterfly. Don't you love that each state here has a state butterfly and state bird? Our bird is the brown thrasher but quite a few of the states have the cardinal as their state bird! xx

  3. It is the little things in life that often mean the most. Now I'm going to be grooving to music all day long...at least in my head. The butterflies are beautiful and didn't know about the blue on the swallowtail. Always more to learn in life. It never quits.

    1. Remember that blue at the bottom means it is a female...you WILL be tested on it later!! :-)
It is the little things, it is to me anyway.

    1. Yes! I loved those films too but I just watched again one of my favorite movies EVER- "I'll See You IN My Dreams", the one that she was in with Danny Thomas. PLEASE search that out and watch it, you will LOVE IT.

  6. Glen Campbell playing The William Tell Overture was magnificent! Did you know he played the guitar on The Unicorn by the Irish Rovers? Of course I love Doris Day. Butterflies are good beauty to watch for.

    1. Yes! Glen Campbell played the guitar on so many records! My husband is a guitarist and so is my son, so I know a lot of guys who are great guitarists because of them! But I loved Glen Campbell before I got married and was surrounded by guitars in my home. LOL!

  7. I had recently found that Glen Campbell video too. It's great. I've watched and listened to it many times. Ever the William Tell Overture sung by a barbershop quartet? I'll see if I can find a link to a performance.

    1. Hey Ed! I just find talent like that astounding and I am so happy to share it here. I even thought he did a great impression at the beginning of the video! I loved his show when it was on TV, he called it "The Good Time Hour" and it really was like that, he showed all his guests such respect. Gee whiz, I always did have good taste even as a kid, if I do say so myself!! :-)

  8. I am definitely one to keep moving - as you know from my blog! If I do not get enough walking or other exercise in a day, I become stir crazy, and that is never a good condition - not for me and not for those around me.
Butterflies are so beautiful! I often see them on my walks, but I am way too slow with my camera (phone) to take pictures of them like you do (or Richard).
Like you, I have not been to England in 2020. Hopefully, 2021 will see us back in Yorkshire, in "our" cottage... sigh!

    1. Me and you both, my friend, and if I can't get outside then, I have to walk around indoors to add up to some miles, although, i long to get out on my trails!
Our butterflies are also very fast but on the bright orange Mexican sunflowers, there is just something about them that must be irresistible to them, so they stay on them for quite some time!
Ah, 2021, please be a better year than 2020!

    1. They are beautiful, yet it can be hard to get photos of them. Very often, they are in bright, bright sun and hard to photograph!

  10. I do like Glen Campbell's music...I grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. We had a field trip evey year to hear the Cleveland Orchestra perform. I remember one year when they ended the concert with the William Tell Overture and the audience (all grade school kids and fans of The Lone Ranger) went crazy with their applause!

    1. I can't remember The Lone Ranger from TV, but I know that they used the William Tell Overture for it. HI HO SILVER< AWAY!!
      I think that's right! LOL!

  12. I love Glen Campbell's music, but I never heard him play this! Wow, Kay! I've always loved Campbell's "Wichita Lineman." When it was a hit, I was actually dating a lineman named Lyman in Wingham, Ontario, but he was only a lineman in the summer. In the winter he taught on Vancouver Island. "Wingham Lineman" doesn't have quite the same ring to it ~ LOL! I always love your beautiful butterflies. I long to be able to return to England. Not quite as much as I bet you do. Sigh ~ someday soon for the both of us I hope! All the best!

    1. Yes, Louise, let's try to make it to England and be there at the same time! Those Brits will NOT know what hit them! LOL!!
      We would have a ball!
I bet that song "Wichita Lineman" makes you have fond memories! xx

  13. I can't get over how many butterflies are in your area. I think I've only seen about 4-5 different kinds over here. I loved Glen Campbell too.
