Background Music for TCM- December 2019

Got it!  I searched for some background music that I heard on TCM and I am happy to tell you that I finally found it and have it for you here!   Please watch it and tell me that you like it as much as I do!
Reading the comments, it is said that the song is called "Got It" by Gabrielle.  Does anyone know if this is correct?  I wasn't aware of this singer. (She is from England, so I should have heard of her but hey, I can't know every  singer in the world, just feel like I should.) I listened to other songs by her...and while this info might be correct, it doesn't sound like her voice to me.  As I say, I could be wrong...let me know!  (And be sure to click on the full screen in the lower right corner, so you can see the film clips better.)

TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Back when Ted Turner just had a small Atlanta TV station (Channel 17, anybody remember?) , he used to show old films on there which I really enjoyed. (This was in the 1970's.) Why now, I think they have TCM in England, so it must be all over the world! I love all the old films that they show on TCM and the way the bits of film are put together with this song...I just think it's great.  (And Jimmy Cagney, the way he rolls his eyes when he tells us that he is Santa Claus, Robin Hood and the goose that laid the golden egg. ...oh I just love him!)  I love ALL of it, each and every shot.  Why, I even like the dancing squirrel towards the end!  I am crazy about movies, can you tell? Not to mention ALL the films I want to be made about interesting people. (How many times have I said I wish a movie could be made about so and so?)
Do I have everything ready for Christmas? HO HO HO! (I do have the wreath on my front door that I made myself!) How about you?
"A Merry Christmas to us all, my dears!"

  2. I can't hear the sound on the video. I made sure it wasn't muted. Maybe I can find it on YouTube. I love Turner Classic Movies. The older movies are the best.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. I figured out what was wrong with my speakers and came back to listen to the TCM clip. It's great. I need to wrap some gifts. Other than that, I'm done. Take me out of the oven.

  3. I can't say anything about the singer, but her voice is lovely, no matter who she is! And I loved the film clips cut together. Weren't people just so incredibly GORGEOUS in those films (men, women - everyone!).

    1. I KNOW!! That red dress that Judy Garland is wearing, where she is dancing and she claps her hand in time to the music, so gorgeous! Glad you liked it too. Still not certain about the singer's name though!

  4. Ho Ho Ho, back to you ! I'm almost ready except for some packing and wrapping I'm going to one of my sons for Christmas and trying to decide what to take along. I am a TCM fan and prefer the old movies over many of the new ones!

    1. For one thing, the new movies have so much violence and bad language, there is hardly any time for anything else!
Hope you have a nice relaxing holiday with your family. xx

  8. TCM is my favorite channel and I think I've seen all of the films featured in that clip. I remember seeing that clip a few times in the past few weeks and I love it. James Cagney is top on my list with Jimmy Stewart. I'm pretty ready for Christmas with just a few little items left. We're celebrating early since I'm on call Christmas Day so I better have my act together!

  9. That squirrel is from The Great Rupert, a movie I used to see on TV every holiday season in the '50s. Jimmy Durante was the star.

  12. 'Tis just another day for me and my two furry mates. Once upon a time I went all out for Christmas...but no more. No decorations....I gave all my decorations away a few years ago...and gave decorating away.

I still spoil myself one way or the other...many ways and the other! :)

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, Kay. Relax, laugh...enjoy. :)

    1. I have very simple tastes with decorating but it suits me, I don't do much, the wreath on my door is a grapevine wreath and I use leaves on it from my own tree with a red bow that I have had for years! That is an example of my decorations!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas too, and for you, I will say stay cool! xx

Merry Christmas to you and Alex! (See, at least I got YOUR names right!)
