No matter where you are in the world, take some time to enjoy the view! That photo above is of Peter in England with his dog, PeTe by his side. (PeTe is spelled that way, but it is pronounced Petey...and you know I say PeeDER instead of Pe-tuh, the way I am supposed to!) Peter is my dear father-in-law and doesn't he look elegant gazing wistfully from his front door? Quite dapper, I would say!
The photo was taken by Joan, Richard's mother and you could say that Richard got his photography skills from his Mum. I think he might have! Good one, Joan! We love this!
Remember my post about Brasstown Bald? When we walked back up the trail when the sun came out suddenly, Richard snapped a quick shot of the white clouds and it looked so much like this postcard that I wanted to show you the card.
Also, we saw a lovely sunset that evening and we could only imagine how lovely it would be to view it from Brasstown Bald.
Here are just a few views that Richard and I have seen lately...
This is steeper than it looks, TRUST ME. |
Grandiflora coreopsis....they are GRAND indeed! |
All of these are from Stone Mountain from last weekend except that first one of the pink flower...that is a "glad" from our front yard (or GARDEN, if you are British!)
Hope you are finding beauty wherever you are!
And to my friend Pat on the Isle of Lewis, hope you enjoyed the views of OUR Stone Mountain!
Nice photographs. I like old cards like that with a period feel to them.
ReplyDeleteThanks! And I agree, I like post cards that look like they are old travel posters.
DeleteAll great photos. Feelings and colors to make me feel good.
ReplyDeleteIt is so amazing to come our from under all the trees one the trail and suddenly you are on top of the mountain, on the bald, where there are NO trees! If you are lucky you will be able to see for miles and miles!
DeleteLovely views! I absolutely trust you on the one bit being much steeper than it looks on the photo. Often when I take pictures during my walks and later look at them, I am amazed at how flat the path always seems, even though in reality there is quite a bit of hill to climb. The camera can't always pick up on the real geography of a place, can it.
ReplyDeleteIt's true! Our eyes see it better than the camera and my LEGS know the steep climbs very well!
DeleteYou would have loved the trail up to Brasstown Bald and the view that awaited us, I am sure!
Enjoyed your photo's. Yes, our Georgia is a beautiful state!
ReplyDeleteYou know I agree! Glad you liked the photos. xx

DeleteNext time you get to Stone Mountain, walk up the mountain, okay?
That little stream was so pretty and the water was very clear, like something from a fairy tale. Hope you have a great week too! :-)
I really liked this post and definitely believe that where ever we go we should take the time to enjoy the view for sure !
ReplyDeleteThank you! Enjoy every view that you can!

Yes! We love the photo of Peter & PeTe too, of course. Wish they were looking out at us walking up the walkway to them! :-)
DeleteHappy you like that last shot, I didn't know if it would convey the fairy like quality of it, but I think Richard did a good job!
