Can't Leave It Alone (Song for March Films on TCM 2021)

Hello, everyone! I just saw the best thing on TV and I have to share it with you! You must know that I have a great fondness for TCM (Turner Classic Movies).  AND I also enjoy that in between the films, someone puts together snippets of the films shown that month along with a song in the background.  For the month of March, it was the following... (And be sure to pay attention to not just the song but how cleverly and seamlessly the song goes along with the moving images and also how the images are connected.) Wait...difficulties.....  Okay, not able to post it here but I have a link below...be sure and watch!

There! I hope you were able to see the video!  The song is "Can't Leave It Alone" and it is by Aaron Frazer. What an interesting and talented young man!   I had never heard of him or this song but I like them both! (The song is very new, it was released on his album just this past January.) To me, it is like an R & B sound but with a modern twist.  He sings in a falsetto voice and that is most unusual, isn't it? Although, I also am remembering Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons...

Can you think of others?  (The marvelous Bill Kenny of The Inkspots should also come to mind!)

Falsetto! Now who is going to do a post talking about falsetto today? Only me!

Remember my post where I told you about the song, "Whispering Grass"? I so wanted to show you some photos of whispering grass but here you go, better late than never!

Hope you are all doing well and that wherever you are in the world, it is a nice day. Take care.

  1. Ahhh....Frankie Valli and "The Four Seasons". Only last year I watched "Jersey Boys" again...and I noticed it was on one of the TV channels again this past week. They were terrific...echoes of fun times of my younger years. :)

That's a great teaser of movies to come...headed off with one of the best..."Breakfast at Tiffany's". Another I watched again for the millionth time a few weeks ago. I have it one one of my recording devices, where it permanently remains alongside "Roman Holiday". I love...have always, and will always love Audrey Hepburn.

I've always been a movie fan from when I was a little kid.

    Take good care, Kay. :)

    1. Yes! I also love Audrey Hepburn, I love the very first clip is of her. I am a huge film buff, so much that I think I knew almost all the movies that were represented in that clip! Don't play against me in a trivia game involving movies,Lee, you better try to get on my team! Take care!!

    2. I return the challenge to you, Kay....I, too, am a movie buff and have been since I was a little girl I used to have boxes and boxes filled with cuttings from papers and magazines with movie and movie star information...and I collected the "Movietone" and "Photoplay" magazines. My interest has never waned. :)

So let the battle begin! :)

    3. Growing up, I read every single book about movie stars that I could find. Do you know the book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl? I read that as a kid but I recognized the name from a book that I had read about Patricia Neal (she was married to Roald Dahl.) And I am thinking that it was when I was 10 years old! Keely Hawes will play Patricia Neal in an upcoming film about the couple. HOnestly, I drive myself crazy! Yes, we would be a great team!!

    4. Of course. I know the book...and the movie/s "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Author and model, Sophie Dahl is the grand-daughter of Roald Dahl and Patricia Neal...(daughter their daughter, Tessa).

I was only thinking about Patricia Neal the other night, for whatever reason (my mind works in mysterious ways!). I always liked her...and I knew she was married to Dahl. And, of course, she was in "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

We would be a formidable team, Kay! :)

  2. Interesting new song. I recognized all the movies and stars too. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons had so many wonderful hit songs. Speaking of falsetto voices did you forget Barry Gibb?

    1. Barry Gibb is fantastic! I just read something about him, it said that there are quite a few falsetto singers but none embrace it as much as Barry Gibb!Sorry he is the only brother left now.

  4. Wow, that was a fun clip, so many memories there. I even spotted Rod Taylor, one of the early Aussies to make it good in Hollywood. Makes me feel old, knowing all those movies. Oh, that's right, I am old, lol. :)

  7. Got to love those memories those old songs stir up. I like TCM a lot and watch an old black and white movie or show every night after I crawl into bed. It just unwinds me. xo Diana

    1. Yes, at end of my day, I need some okd fashioned entertainment to help me relax and unwind! I love the bits where they talk about a film star in between the films, just heard one of Paul Newman talking of Elizabeth Taylor. Paul Newman was dreamy, wasn't he?

  9. That whispering grass is beautiful!

There is a falsetto singer whose name I can't for the life of me recall ... it will probably come back to me in the middle of the night.

Ha! Got it. Tiny Tim. :)

  10. I saw--and listened to--March on TCM. It's my favorite channel, but I'm giving it up. I can't afford satellite or cable anymore. I'm sure I'll learn to manage without it.

    Love,

  11. I was reading the Outlander series and one word she uses in every book was susurrus. I thought it was such a great word for the sound of whispering, rustling, murmuring. Hmmm... I should write a blog post about that word. You could say the 'susurrus of the whispering grass.'
