"With A Little Help From My Friends" is a Lennon/McCartney song from the album "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band". It was written with the idea of Ringo Starr singing the lead. You must know that I love this song and Ringo singing it but I also love the version of it by Joe Cocker. I heard this song on a Walmart TV ad tonight ...and it sounded so good! There is so much bad music these days, it was wonderful to hear this song!
Ringo, if you happen to be reading this blog, you may certainly sing it to me anytime! You know I love you!
A dear friend called me this week to wish me a happy birthday and also to let me speak with another one of our friends who was visiting for Easter weekend. Dusty and Deb, it was wonderful to speak with you both!

DeleteI doubt there will be much, if any of the present day music that will last as long as the music of the 60s, 70s and prior to those decades. I'm not sure what day the music died...but I think it has. I prefer to hold onto the great music of those eras. There's nothing around at present that matches it...in my humble opinion, anyway. :)

ReplyDeleteOh me, that was the last photo that I had taken with Dusty, so I didn't tell you, but it is from a few years ago, two or three, I am not sure. Sad to say, I look more stressed out than that these days!
DeleteI have had the apostle plant on here before, you might have been the one who identified it for me, honestly, I can't remember much these days. It is a gorgeous plant and the bloom really is pretty.
I like Joe Cocker's version too.

If he does, I don't mind if they are used in TV ads, we all need to hear good music! I just hope they will be in good taste, I still cringe when I think of "I Feel Good" used in a laxative commercial!
