"When I Was A Boy" for My Boy, Christopher

Our son will be celebrating a birthday this week.  It is always close to Thanksgiving day, so I will be happy to send your best wishes to him!  He has always loved music. We were thrilled to see him in a band a few years ago, playing guitar and singing songs that he had written himself!  When I heard this song by Jeff Lynne, "When I Was A Boy", I knew I had to share it with you and have it in honor of our son.

(Note: New album "Alone In The Universe" from Jeff Lynne's ELO.)

That's C. in the middle, front and center...lead singer and spokesman!

  2. Happy Birthday to you, Christopher! Just stay the person you are, keep making your Mum and Dad happy and proud.

Kay, when my sister or I have a birthday, our Dad always gives a bunch of roses to our Mum, since she was the one who gave birth to us. I find that such a nice gesture and took it as normal as a child - was very surprised to learn in later years that not everybody does that!

    1. Thanks, Jenny! That photo was taken in Eastbourne at his grandparents' house. The little Westie is Barney and he slept at the foot of C's bed from the very first night we arrived. Ah, a boy and a dog, so sweet!

Do please pass on our very best to Christopher. Will he be sampling a few beers for the magazine?

  11. A very happy birthday indeed. If he stuck with the band then I hope it works out well for him. It's definitely one of those things that takes a lot of work.

    1. Alas, the band is no more. I think C. was a bit more serious than the other members. C. still writes music and plays his guitar. You MIGHT just see him performing one day, and you will know him from my blog! :-)
