Oh, go jump in a lake! Okay, here I go! HA! Just kidding!
Today we went to Arabia Mountain, and in that photo above, I am posing beside the pools of water at the top of the mountain. It was a gorgeous day, bright blue skies and it warmed up very nicely.
See the bright green moss in this photo? It is a dark, almost black color but when it is wet, it turns green. It is called resurrection moss. It feels a bit like that for me. At Arabia Mountain, I feel as if I come to life.
Look at the sun sparkling on the lake! It was beautiful. I asked Richard to take a video for you, just to show you what it was like....
Okay, it's time for us to go home now. Let's just turn around and say good-bye to the mountain. Hope you enjoyed this walk over Arabia Mountain with us! (Love that blue sky!)
It is such a clear day. Even in the pictures the air seems fresh and clean. Looks like you had fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's like a different world but it is only a few miles from a very busy interstate and not too far from the Atlanta airport. I am thankful that it was saved as a park.
DeleteI did, thank you! Brilliant blue sky, all that sun and fresh air to soak in, no wonder you feel much more alive up there than anywhere else!
ReplyDeleteJanuary the 25th... You will laugh but when I woke up on the 24th, I thought "It'll be Christmas Eve in 11 months today!"
Ha, sounds like SOMEONE really likes Christmas! :-)
DeleteI know you would love to walk over the rock with us, there is always so much to see!
It was very hot here today...I could quite easily and willingly loll about in that water for a while. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, the water is crystal clear, and there are so few spots of water here that I can say that about!
DeleteI enjoyed that walk!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome to come along with us anytime!
DeleteNice walk.
ReplyDeleteThanks, glad you like it too!
DeleteI wrote a comment yesterday. I wonder what happened to it?
ReplyDeleteArabia mountain is your special place and I think you have more than one place that is special. I remember commenting that I loved hearing your voices......
I do have some spots in the world that are very dear to me, you are right!
DeleteRichard has a great voice but people are disappointed when they hear me, they automatically think that I will speak with an English accent too!
How splendid! While i know no one may live on the mountain, are people allowed to camp out there or near the base? It would be an amazing place to spend a week outdoors.
ReplyDeleteThey don't have camping here but they do have a campground nearby at Panola Mountain. There were plans to build Yurts at Panola, but I think the money was budgeted elsewhere.
DeleteThere's nothing so beautiful as sunlight on blue water!
ReplyDeleteRichard tried to capture that sunlight on blue water for you, but honestly, it was better in person!
DeleteLoved it ~ as always!!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYes, Audrey, and I am still waiting to walk over Stone Mountain with you. Let me know if you are ever in the area!! xxx
DeleteSuch an incredibly beautiful place!! Thank you for taking us along with you! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy, we love it and you can come along anytime!!
DeleteNice photos. We all need a place we can escape into. I envy your southern winter climate as it's igloo time over here once again :o(
ReplyDeleteWe have had some cold days but then, it will warm up and be almost like Spring. I really love to see the sun...the long, grey days of winter are very depressing to me. It will be your Spring before you know it!
DeleteKay, So glad you could get out to enjoy your mountain. I can sure see why you love that area. So much to see. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie! We have not been able to get there for several weeks and we truly missed it! All the water cascading down the mountain and the pools of water with the sun shining upon them, it was like magic! xx
DeleteYour winter looks like an early spring day here! I'm jealous..we got 6in of snow today and it's cold, cold, cold....oh well, I do love the lake and the blue, sunny skies! Thanks for making me feel a bit of your warmth!
ReplyDeleteI know you told me that you have a relative in the Atlanta area. Make sure you visit Stone Mountain if you get the chance when you visit! And Arabia Mountain is close by to it too, you could do both in one day! Let me know, would love to walk over the mountain with you.
DeleteYour Spring will come soon! xx
We're having a snow storm here in Virginia. Where my daughter lives in Brooklyn NY it's supposed to get bad.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see such a nice day by you.
The snow pictures from New England look very scary. It might make more people move South after all that snow!
DeleteI tried to leave a comment on your post, but wasn't able to...your grandson is just so cute!!
Oh Kay, it's gorgeous. I can see why you feel alive up there! The water is beautiful - good idea to take a video as it's almost impossible to capture the charm of sparkling water in a photo!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a good winter. I enjoyed your comment about the marmalade and the other Sue's blog. The only preserves I've ever made were freezer preserves, and that but once! I'm definitely not the culinary goddess she is. :)
We really do love it. I try not to write about it so very much but sometimes, like this past weekend, it was just so beautiful, it really took my breath away.
DeleteOh! I can't believe getting the two blogs mixed up! That is just the kind of thing that I am doing these days, Sue. I started taking vitamins this week, I hope that helps me!
That's WINTER? Looks amazing. And almost certainly warmer than anywhere in the UK at the moment. Or New York for that matter.

ReplyDeleteOur summers can be brutal but I think the winters make up for them. Well, that is what I think in the wintertime anyway!
DeleteThanks for your comment and becoming a follower.
You have made my day!
Beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBeautiful photos. I really loved the video too - so soothing. It also made me smile hearing you and Richard in the background :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie! Richard didn't really remember about our voices on there! HA!
DeleteI do love your Arabia Mountain. Your header photo is gorgeous!
