Arabia Mountain - Winter's Day In Georgia!

Oh, go jump in a lake!   Okay, here I go!  HA!  Just kidding!

Today we went to Arabia Mountain, and in that photo above, I am posing beside the pools of water at the top of the mountain.  It was a gorgeous day, bright blue skies and it warmed up very nicely.

See the bright green moss in this photo?  It is a dark, almost black color but when it is wet, it turns green.  It is called resurrection moss.  It feels a bit like that for me.  At Arabia Mountain, I feel as if I come to life.

Look at the sun sparkling on the lake!  It was beautiful.  I asked Richard to take a video for you,  just to show you  what it was like....

Okay, it's time for us to go home now.  Let's just turn around and say good-bye to the mountain.  Hope you enjoyed this walk over Arabia Mountain with us!  (Love that blue sky!)

    1. It's like a different world but it is only a few miles from a very busy interstate and not too far from the Atlanta airport. I am thankful that it was saved as a park.

  2. I did, thank you! Brilliant blue sky, all that sun and fresh air to soak in, no wonder you feel much more alive up there than anywhere else!
January the 25th... You will laugh but when I woke up on the 24th, I thought "It'll be Christmas Eve in 11 months today!"

  3. It was very hot here today...I could quite easily and willingly loll about in that water for a while. :)

Arabia mountain is your special place and I think you have more than one place that is special. I remember commenting that I loved hearing your voices......

    1. I do have some spots in the world that are very dear to me, you are right!
Richard has a great voice but people are disappointed when they hear me, they automatically think that I will speak with an English accent too!

  6. How splendid! While i know no one may live on the mountain, are people allowed to camp out there or near the base? It would be an amazing place to spend a week outdoors.

    1. They don't have camping here but they do have a campground nearby at Panola Mountain. There were plans to build Yurts at Panola, but I think the money was budgeted elsewhere.

    1. Richard tried to capture that sunlight on blue water for you, but honestly, it was better in person!

    1. We have had some cold days but then, it will warm up and be almost like Spring. I really love to see the sun...the long, grey days of winter are very depressing to me. It will be your Spring before you know it!

    1. Thank you, Susie! We have not been able to get there for several weeks and we truly missed it! All the water cascading down the mountain and the pools of water with the sun shining upon them, it was like magic! xx

    1. I know you told me that you have a relative in the Atlanta area. Make sure you visit Stone Mountain if you get the chance when you visit! And Arabia Mountain is close by to it too, you could do both in one day! Let me know, would love to walk over the mountain with you.
Your Spring will come soon! xx

  13. We're having a snow storm here in Virginia. Where my daughter lives in Brooklyn NY it's supposed to get bad.
It's good to see such a nice day by you.

    1. The snow pictures from New England look very scary. It might make more people move South after all that snow!
I tried to leave a comment on your post, but wasn't able to...your grandson is just so cute!!

  14. Oh Kay, it's gorgeous. I can see why you feel alive up there! The water is beautiful - good idea to take a video as it's almost impossible to capture the charm of sparkling water in a photo!

Hope you are having a good winter. I enjoyed your comment about the marmalade and the other Sue's blog. The only preserves I've ever made were freezer preserves, and that but once! I'm definitely not the culinary goddess she is. :)

    1. We really do love it. I try not to write about it so very much but sometimes, like this past weekend, it was just so beautiful, it really took my breath away.
Oh! I can't believe getting the two blogs mixed up! That is just the kind of thing that I am doing these days, Sue. I started taking vitamins this week, I hope that helps me!

  15. That's WINTER? Looks amazing. And almost certainly warmer than anywhere in the UK at the moment. Or New York for that matter.

    1. Our summers can be brutal but I think the winters make up for them. Well, that is what I think in the wintertime anyway!
Thanks for your comment and becoming a follower.
