Going for the gold (or yellow). Hope these yellow photos will make you smile. Is everyone watching the Olympics? Are you trying to watch the Olympics and watch the Atlanta Braves at the same time like I am trying to do? My last two photos are here to represent silver and bronze for you, because let's face it, it would be wonderful to win any of the medals, wouldn't it?
Kay- What beautiful gold images...and silver and bronze! We ARE watching the Olympics- Amazing talent, huh? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYes, amazing talent and so much fun to see.
DeleteI started a comment and then lost it. Why do I do this to myself??
ReplyDeleteI like all your pictures but the last three are just perfect for gold, silver and bronze. Medal winning photographs I would suggest.
About the second photo, of the picture above the bed. Have you blogged about it before? If so I missed it. If not can you tell us more about it, please?
The picture above the bed was actually on fabric, so I suppose it was more of a tapestry, but it is a print of "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt, an Austrian painter and he was known (at least for a time) for these gold paintings.
DeleteHmmm...there's more I want to say. Maybe I will do a post about it!
How adorable ~ I love color-inspired posts! Of course I'm watching the Olympics ~ I can't get enough of Phelps & Lochte. I don't want it to be over! (smile)
ReplyDeleteHey Audrey!
DeleteWish I had more more time to watch the Olympics!
Very creative idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra!
DeleteAlthough I couldn't care less about the Olympics, you know yellow is my favourite colour - and those yellow roses, the sunflowers in the milk can, the field full of buttercups and all the other beautiful pictures "do" it for me! And there is Kay, smiling at us above the lovely yellow roses and other flowers from outside the garden wall :-)
ReplyDeleteDear Meike,
DeleteOf course I thought of you with the yellow!
And yes, I had to ask Richard to take my photo with those yellow roses, they were just beautiful.
Some terrific shots there.
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you very much!
DeleteI know I took that very last one, the bronze one, it is from the tree in my backyard!
Awesome photos! New Zealand won gold in rowing so really happy about that!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paul! New Zealand wins gold in rowing...sounds like someone could write a song about it. HINT HINT!
DeleteLovely yellows and golds, and silver and bronze, too. Yes, as one silver medalist put it, "I didn't lose the gold, I won the silver!" Something all these athletes can be proud of, to have been world class enough to compete at all.
ReplyDeleteDear Mimi,
DeleteOh yes, to even be in the Olympics must be such a thrill! I must do a post again about Louis Zamperini, who was in the 1936 Olympics. People get to my blog by putting in his name into a search engine...
Gorgeous images. Yes, enjoying the Olympics very much.
ReplyDeleteDear Tracey,
DeleteThank you. And all the venues look so beautiful. Good job, London!
Beautiful images, Kay! I almost missed this post (not sure how it got away from me). I really like the one where you're peeking from behind those flowers (roses?). Was that photo taken in England? I really like those buildings in the back; very interesting.
ReplyDeleteHey Martha!
DeleteYes those roses were just in some kind of garden just in the middle of the road, very close to the art museum in Eastbourne. The roses there were just incredible. Much of Eastbourne is Victorian and I love the Victorian architecture!
Yes, I've been watching the Olympics every night and it's taking up all of my evenings... and preventing me from keeping up with blogging.
ReplyDeleteHey Kay!
DeleteI know just what you mean, and let's not even talk about not doing my housework! But the Olympics don't happen every day, right?
