Je te souhaite... I wish you ...
Je te souhaite, I wish you,
Je te souhaite des rêves à n'en plus finir I wish you dreams with no end
Et l'envie furieuse d'en réaliser quelques uns. And the desire to achieve furious few.
Je te souhaite d'aimer et d'oublier ce qu'il faut oublier, I wish you to love and forget what to forget
Je te souhaite des passions, I wish you the passions,
Je te souhaite des silences, I wish you the silences,
Je te souhaite des chants d'oiseaux au réveil I wish you the songs of birds in the morning
Et des rires d'enfants, And the laughter of children,
Je te souhaite de résister à l'enlisement, I wish to resist the stalemate,
A l'indifférence et aux vertus négatives de notre époque, At the indifference and negative virtues of our time,
Je te souhaite d'être toi... I wish you to be you ...

Hi Kay, I got chills watching this commercial!! I've always loved this song. Love the ending - I was holding my breath, wondering how he would get out of this one :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jane,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a good idea to make TV ads with beautiful music and a story to go with it? I think so!
I love that advert too. And the poem/song is wonderful. I've just looked up Jacques Brel (ashamed to say I didn't know him) and have found he composed one of my favourites - Ne me quitte pas.
ReplyDeleteUntil yesterday, I didn't know him either. (I asked my music-crazy son, and he DID know him!) I can't remember what I was looking at when I saw this but I really liked it. If you read his biography he was an interesting person.
DeleteA woderful post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your very nice comment. I think you have a great blog!
Regards from Tania;-)
Thank you! And you are a REAL mountain climber, read my posts on Kyle Maynard and let me know what you think!
DeleteThank you for YOUR nice comment!
Now that's a good ad!I haven't seen this before. Oh if only they were all as entertaining as this one!
ReplyDeleteAre the ads in England still this good? It is one of my favorites!
DeleteI haven't seen this ad before. It must have been very entertaining to make - wow. I am not attracted by actually doing any of it myself, but I'd have liked to help make it. I meant to comment on your other post, about Arabia Mountain and stitchwort. I think that is such a lovely flower too!
ReplyDeleteDear Jenny,
DeleteI wouldn't want to drive/pilot any of those either!
And I really love that little white flower, the stitchwort. I looked up the word "wort" and it is very old and means "plant" or even further back "root".
Even though the flower is smaller, it reminds me of snow in summer, one of my favorites in England.
I love the sky pic, such beauty, and always changing. I hadn't read that poem before, I will now look up more of Jacques Brel's work. I like the Honda ad's, and I like the way that song builds.
ReplyDeleteDear Tracey,
DeleteAnd that sky photo? Richard took that right outside our front door! :-)
That is a very cool ad! Love the way it ends. That photo is great, Kay. It looks like the clouds are dancing in the sky.
ReplyDeleteAnother photo by Richard, and he took it right in front of our house! Glad you like the ad too.
Deletelove love love jacque brel. thank you for these words be cause i will carry them through my challenging day, week, time
ReplyDeletehave you heard him sing 'if we only have love..? it is a gulp of awesome

kj
kj,
DeleteI never had heard of him until yesterday! You need to share your loves with me on your blog! I think we might like the same things!
Oooo, I've been catching up on your latest posts, Kay! Love all the English TV shows you are mentioning. There's something about British humor that has me laughing out loud when I watch these shows. I remember watching Coupling, The Vicar of Dibley, and Doc Martin and having to stop the DVD because I was laughing so hard! And British mysteries - I love them all!!! And I think I've watched them all... :)
ReplyDeleteAnd your photos of spring time in your part of Georgia look wonderful. Here, everything is in full bloom and too soon we'll feel like we are heading into summer already... I am trying to enjoy it while it is cool and gorgeous!!
And Jacques Brel - there was a time I listened to his music all the time. And Maxime le Forestier. Oh, this brings back memories....
Love, Silke
Dear Silke,
DeleteCan't tell you how much I love the shows that you mentioned, and we also love the British mysteries, we watch every one that they show!
You are so right about Georgia, better enjoy spring weather, it only lasts for about 10 minutes, then BAM, it's summer!
I am happy that you liked this by Jacques Brel!
It makes me happy that you are being so creative these days!
Hugs to you!
Love,
Kay
