Bryan Adams At The O2- London 2018

This past Thursday, Bryan Adams was in concert in London at the O2 Arena. Wish I could have been there!  Don't you just love a concert where the audience knows all the words and sings along with great joy and enthusiasm?

We were saddened to learn of a death in our family.  The husband of Richard's cousin died today.  Just one week ago today, he had attended this concert at the O2 Arena.  I am certain that one of the voices that you hear singing would have been his.   Yes, I am positive of this.

May that great rock and roll band in heaven welcome you with open arms, Graham!  I know I should say rest in peace but if you would have known him, you would know that the rock and roll band would be more like him.

How I wish I could discuss with Graham everything I just learned about Bryan Adams!  Born in Canada to English parents, he is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer, photographer, philanthropist and activist.  In other words, an all around good guy!
Did you know that one of the postage stamps in Canada in 2012 had a fantastic photo of Queen Elizabeth with a wonderful, natural smile? That photo was taken by Bryan Adams!  Isn't that something?
(I can't show you the stamp here but if you just type in "Canadian postage stamp from Bryan Adams" into a search engine you will see it!)

Sorry if  my thoughts are more scattered than usual...this has been really sad news from England today.

The Anchor Pub in London -Graham would have loved this, I am sure. (Can you see me in the window?)   Cheers!

  2. So sorry to hear of your relative's death. Sounds like it was just in time he attended the concert. His wife must be very sad.
Those bright red windows and shutters make The Anchor look really inviting!

    1. I am glad he was able to see this concert, it is just like him to make sure he saw this no matter ill he really was.
If you are ever on the South Bank in London and you see this pub, think of me standing in front of it admiring it with my mouth agape!

  3. I'm sorry you've suffered the loss of a family member, Kay. A sad time for you all.

I'm sure his voice will remain melodic and with you at all times. Take care...and my best thoughts are with you and your family.

    1. And it is always hard when those who die are so far away.
I will always remember him saying something in a Southern accent (like mine from Georgia) whenever I was around. He was very good at it, like an English actor!

  4. So sorry for your loss Kay and Richard. At least he had a chance to attend a wonderful concert and had some fun before departing this world.
Those red windows on the pub look great.
Re your comments about the Gluten free food, you would have been amazed at the GF choices in Budapest. I'm gluten intolerant, but my son in law's Mom is celiac and she worries a lot about eating out of home, but she was quite happy with the food choices in Budapest.

    1. Oh yes, Graham always had fun, he was always the life of the party.
Your post really made me want to see Budapest! It also inspired me to do some gluten free baking this morning, Ginger Apple Carrot Muffins! (No cinnamon, because my husband doesn't care for it.)
      Thanks for your comment, Sami.

    1. Thanks, Hilary. You might have even seen Graham when you lived in Eastbourne, you never know.
Yes, I always learn to love new things about people from researching them on my blog. I only found this out and I would have loved to have told Graham this little bit of info.

    1. Thanks. We only saw me in the window when we looked at these later. I would have tried not to look so stunned if I knew I was in the photo.

  9. I'm so sad to hear of the death of Richard's cousin. I was in the Anchor not so long ago myself, with some American relations who came to stay. I've never been to a concert at the O2 centre although I have often seen it from the outside, and went during the days when it was the Millennium Dome!

When I next get back to London, let us try to meet up at the Anchor- wouldn't that be wonderful? :-)
I also remember it as the Millennium Dome, you can also make it out from the aerial shot from Eastenders, can't you?

    1. Thanks, Adam. Looks like this is your first visit here, you are very welcome anytime.
From your blog, it looks as if you are a big movie fan. If you have ever seen "Robin Hood", you know the one with Kevin Costner, the song at the end, "Everything I Do, I Do For You", that is Bryan Adams.

And you should check out his music. Looking up him, I was amazed at all his talents. He is such a nice guy, no matter what one's talents are, it is the kindness that matters the most to me.

  14. Dear Kay,

    My sympathy to you both.

I've been to the O2 but not for a concert. When my nephew took me to London in 2008 we saw an Egyptian exhibition there. It's a huge place, isn't it?

Thanks for the info on Bryan Adams. I didn't know he was so multi-talented!

    1. Thanks, Sue. My deepest sympathies are for his wife, children and grandson. Not forgetting my dear father in law, this was quite a shock for them all. You know, I had no idea of all that Bryan Adams had done until I researched him for this post. Quite the fellow, just like Graham.
