Queen Elizabeth/Back To The Future 2

I snapped this photo of Queen Elizabeth from the TV set when I was visiting England a few years ago.  Now, the second that I took this, someone decided the volume needed to be adjusted.  Also, the Queen turned and it looks as if there is a friendly ghost on top of her head!  You do not want to know the bad decisions that I have made in photography but I do think I could write a small book about how NOT to take a photo!  I have several photos of my husband that looks as if his head has been impaled upon a fence, or else a tree or light pole will be growing from the top of his head!
Richard, on the other hand, is a very good photographer...so I just hand the camera to him! Problem solved!!

Hey! Anybody else notice the date today is Oct. 21, 2015?  That is a date that you might remember from the movie "Back To The Future 2".  I can't tell you how often I watch the news and will say with a sad voice..."Biff's World".  As long as we have people like Michael J. Fox in the world, we will be okay!

  1. My photos have two "Meike-specialties": they are sometimes blurry, and often lopsided. The blurriness is due to me not taking enough time to focus properly, and the lopsidedness is in-built in me - I am physically lopsided due to scoliosis, and will often be firmly convinced that I am holding my head perfectly straight when in reality is anything but!

YES, it is that date!!!! One of the TV channels I watch here in Germany is having a whole week dedicated to BTTF, with special programs, competitions on their websites and so on. They showed BTTF1 on Sunday, and it's of course Part II tonight. I shall be watching it, even though I know it by heart :-)

    1. I think it is possible that one of my legs is shorter than the other, the horizon is always crooked in a photo for me. Perhaps it is that my brain is so big that my head tilts slightly, yes that must the reason! HA!
I have not seen any news lately so I am glad that this date was mentioned in connection with Back To The Future. I have written of my love for it before but could not let this date go by without saying something!

  2. The only camera i can use is the PhD camera -- Push here, Dummy!

We may not be where the movie envisioned, but some of it is not very far off.

    1. Oh yes, and don't you just love it when he wrote the letter and Marty said to him, well what about messing up the time continuum and he replied, what the hell! Love that! PS. Didn't know how to spell "continuum" and looked it up, happy to know the spelling!

  4. My sister-in-law had to endure jokes about her photographs for years. Each picture had her finger in it.

  5. My face normally looks (reasonably!) normal, but when a camera is pointed at it, the second the shutter is pressed it does some weird thing and goes all strange and contorted and then returns instantly to normal. No one notices, only the camera. So it isn't so much operating the camera that I have trouble with. It is being photographed! xx

    1. Oh, that happens to me too! It must only happen to the MOST beautiful, charming and intelligent women! See, the camera hurts me on both sides!

  6. "Back to the Future" has been featuring on many news programmes and morning shows here for the past week or two. A Delorean has been making special appearances much to the delight of may. A lot of coverage has been given about the movie...and it's "predictions" etc.

I am not a great picture taker either-but I keep working at it. xo Diana

    1. I remember thinking how far away the date of Oct. 21, 2015 sounded, and it came very quickly! Sometimes, I take a good photo but only if I am at one my mountains, and the scenery insures a good photo no matter what! xx

  8. Our family loved those Back to the Future movies back in the day. I for one am glad to be alive when the far off future date has finally arrived :)

  9. Sometimes a picture shows what it is meant to and not what we planned. I have many like that. Yes, there is a lot on the net and tv about Back to the future. What once seemed out of sight is now here ! Hope you have a wonderful day !

    1. I wonder if the Back To The Future movies will be like It's A Wonderful Life...that audiences in the future will make them even more popular than when they were first released. We could go to the future and find out! You go first and come back and tell me! HA!

  10. I've taken my fair share of bad screenshots, but rarely a really bad photo. I just don't take enough. I know a lot of people were happy about Back To The Future day as it was called, but it made me a little sad. Their idea of the future was so much more fun than the one we actually live in now.

  11. Hmm. I'd better watch the film. I've seen tiny bits when they've appeared in various other things but I've never seen the whole thing.
