Flower that looks like it could be from Hawaii...but this was blooming on a plant that my brother gave us, on our front porch! |
I have a song for everything...sometimes a song from my childhood will bring me comfort. Do you know this song? Can you sing along with it? You know that I do.
Oh, that song takes me back . . . I loved Gilligan's Island when I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteYes, I loved it too. This song from my TV childhood is one that makes me happy!
DeleteIt wasn't (as far as I know) aired in Germany when I was little, but just like you, I have many songs that work like mini time-machines :-)
ReplyDeleteMini time machines, that is exactly right!
DeleteYes, I could sing it. :- ) That is such a gorgeous, unusual flower. We have a plant similar to that in our yard, but the coloring is completely different. I love the blue!
ReplyDeleteWe are not certain what kind of plant that it is, it almost looks like a spider plant. The flowers are really tiny but Richard took this close up so it looks bigger than it really is! I love the blue too!
DeleteLove the flower! I cannot sign along as we didn't have that show! xx
ReplyDeleteI know you had several of the same shows...but I guess not "Gilligan's Island"!
DeleteWhat a beautiful flower to have blooming there at your house. It does look quite tropical for sure. Gilligan's Island was a favorite of many of us.
ReplyDeleteGuess what, I just read that Bob Denver (Gilligan) was the one who insisted that the Professor and Mary Ann had their names mentioned in the theme song. (In the first season, it said "and the rest"). I love that he did that! xx
DeleteI have never seen such a flower in Hawaii. Is it some kind of orchid?
ReplyDeleteWe really don't know what kind of plant it is, but it is not an orchid. Funny thing, when we thanked my brother for it, he said we should thank ourselves as we had given him the cutting for the plant!
DeleteThere is music for every occasion. I definitely rely on my music fo keep me happy. And that is such a lovely flower. It does look exotic.
ReplyDeleteI have a song in my head at all times!
DeleteWe were pleased with this flower, it was so unexpected!
A lovely flower that does remind me of one you might find in the tropics -- or stranded on a tropical isle!
ReplyDeleteYes, it does look like something on a tropical isle, and not on a front porch in Rockdale County, Georgia! :-)
DeleteLooks like an orchid. I'm ashamed to say I remember the song.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like an orchid but it isn't! :-)
DeleteAnd you know I know all the words to "The Beverly Hillbillies' too!
I don't go around singing these songs but I did sing the theme to "Gilligan's Island" when I was driving to work this week. Make me feel relaxed and happy!
Although I've never see a flower like that I have heard and do remember very well the theme from Gilligan's Island! I remembered it a few years ago when I took a 3hr boat tour with my son and his wife and her family. I looked at them and said "I can't believe I'm taking a three hour tour with the Howell's" (her maiden name!) Made me laugh anyway!
ReplyDeleteHA HA, that made me laugh too! A three hour tour...if you hear those words, you would have to sing them, wouldn't you?
DeleteNot sure if my first comment went through, but yes, I know that song well and can sing the lyrics. The kids probably can to after hearing me push them in a swing and sing it for years now.
ReplyDeleteThat makes me laugh, that your kids might know it from you singing it!
DeleteIt's a good song!
That is a beautiful flower. It would brighten the dullest of days. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the wonder of it...Richard spotted this tiny flower and was able to photograph it and I can share it with you. That color blue! I love it. :-)
