Happy Mothering Sunday

Happy Mothering Sunday to my dear mother-in-law in England.  Hope you have a lovely day, Joan! And hope you have lots to laugh about, or maybe something to make you pull one of your funny faces!

Thought you might like to see some of your son's wonderful photos.  Oh wait, I think I took this one!
I love this view, you just might recognize it!  :-)  I wish we had that blue bush in Georgia, the color is astonishing!

Hope you enjoy some lovely clouds!  Richard is constantly taking photos of the clouds just like you!

The first miracle that Jesus performed was at the wedding at Cana changing water into wine.

John 2

New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised (NRSVA)

The Wedding at Cana

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ And Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come.
His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’

Here are some violas for you, Joan!  These are in our own front yard and their little faces are so dear and they smell very sweet.

Mothering Sunday falls on the 4th Sunday in Lent. And since I am American, Joan also has a Mother's Day in May!
Happy Mothering Sunday to my blogging friends in England (that means you, Julie!) and any other country who celebrates it today!)

(Happy Mothering Sunday, JOY in Bexhill...hope you have a lovely day!)

LOVE....Kay

    1. Cait,
Such a beautiful poem with the art by Picasso to go with it, you are a wonderfully gifted artist! And the fact that you notice my husband's photography and gardening skills shows your good taste!

  4. Dear Kay, I always love seeing pictures of your English family, they look so kind, and Joan is always immaculately dressed and groomed, a real lady!
In Germany, Mothers Day is the same as in the US, but I know it's different in the UK, having an English mother-in-law myself :-)
I will ring her tonight for one of our nice long chats, not only because it is Mothers Day but also because the parcel she sent for my birthday arrived during the week (while I was away for my course - I found it yesterday, waiting for me in my living room, full of presents and kind words from her on two different cards), and I want to say thank you.

    1. PS: Interesting that you call those pretty flowers violas. To me, they're pansies, and do you know what they are in German? Stiefmütterchen, which means "little mother-in-laws"!

    2. As always, your observational skills are spot-on! Joan is indeed, always perfectly groomed and immaculate. That is one more thing we have in common, very dear ENGLISH mothers-in-law!
OH!! And I LOVE that pansies are called "Stiefmutterchen" in German, "Little mother-in-laws", how perfect is that?!!
(Violas are the same family as pansies, they are just smaller flowers!)

  6. How lovely of you to remember me today! I hope you had a lovely day too as an honorary English mum :)
Oh and I have that blue bush too! If I'm right it's a ceanothus or Californian Lilac - so I have a little piece of America in my English heart and home. x

    1. Of course, I am thinking of you with your "Sweetpea"!
That ceanothus is in England! I LOVE that blue color! It is in Joan & Peter's back garden. It might thrive in other parts of the country here, but I have never seen it in Georgia!! But I like the idea of it being American, it is lovely!

  8. Doesn't your Mother-in-law look like the sweetest little lady! Happy "Mum's" day to all! The photos are super and I love the last one. So hoping we have some flowers one day. So hoping the snow will stop for good so we can get them! I love the scripture reference too. It always makes me smile because I guess it shows that when Mom tells you what to do..even if you're the Savior of the world..you just better get to it!

    1. Thanks! And I am glad that you liked the verses from the Bible. I always loved Mary saying that...she KNEW that Jesus would do what she asked, even if He is the Savoir of the world!
I hope my son will read this post! :-)

  9. What a loving post, Kay! I've taken a little break from the hear and am catching up! Congrats on bagging all three monadnocks! I knew you'd do it. The trout flowers are so pretty. I watched the design video, and I felt sad when I looked at the elementary font and the Chinese characters. Cursive has been pretty much dumped in my school district and printing is getting short shrift ~ more important things to learn, no time to waste on penmanship. I think it is so wrong! I went round and round with my principal over this. Thanks for always promoting the servicemen who sacrificed so much for our country! Have a happy week!

    1. Thanks, Louise! I know what you mean about cursive. My nephew ASKED his mother to teach him how to write "real writing" since he was not taught this in school!
And I will always try to call attention to those who have served this country. I will NOT forget them! xx

    1. Thanks! And did you read the comment from my friend in Germany? In German, the word for pansies means "little mother-in-laws", isn't that just the most amazing and wonderful coincidence??
