Now, you may ask yourself if Justin Hayward is bitter and angry due to his songs being basically stolen away from him. That does not appear to be the case. Justin Hayward plays the guitar and sings just as perfectly as he has ever done and he does so with a joy that is wonderful to witness! It is a delight to hear him and even though he might be at an age that many would retire, he seems to genuinely enjoy touring both as a solo act and with his great band, THE MOODY BLUES!
Leaving you with one of our favorite songs ,"Lazy Afternoon"from Justin's solo album, "Spirits of The Western Sky". Hope you will love this song as much as we do!
Our weather in Atlanta has broken records for the coolest temperatures for this time of year. Our highs have been in the upper 60's for the past two days, breaking a record on Friday set back in 1892!
With all this rain, I took a photo of this little flower in my back yard. There, Justin, if you see this post, you will remember this cool rainy day and night. Perhaps you will sing "Rainy Night In Georgia"! It would be worth all this rain just to hear you sing this song!
I don't think I know who he is.
ReplyDeleteWell, you do now! Listen to that beautiful voice and guitar, you will love him as much as I do, either solo or with the fabulous MOODY BLUES! xx
DeleteI'm so sorry, but like Chatty Crone, I sadly don't know Justin Haywood. I wish I were more knowledgeable. I'm glad you have the cooler nights. I'd like some cooler days too.
ReplyDeleteHey Kay!
DeleteYou must know the Moody Blues, they had a lot of hits in the late 60's, the 70's and the 80's!
Richard and I have seen the Moody Blues in concert SEVEN times! It was our son's first concert!
i don't know him either but he wrote nights in white satin? that is a very sad story.
ReplyDeletei saw the moody blues at the boston garden with thousands and thousands of other fans. we held up our cigarette lighters and candles during this song and the entire place was magical
love

If you saw the Moody Blues, then you know who Justin Hayward is, he is the lead singer! :-)
DeleteI DO know who he is! So many artists get stung when they are starting out. I suppose they just have to accept that being taken advantage of probably helped them to get noticed. I think it would drive you crazy otherwise.

DeleteI'm glad you know who he is! When Richard told me this story about the man cheating him and getting Justin's royalties, I thought it was so unfair.
DeleteStill, you have to make peace about the unfortunate things that happen in life, and I suppose Justin Hayward has done just that, another reason that makes me like him!
Never heard of him until you wrote about him here, Kay, but I often learn something new from your blog, which is one (out of many!) reasons why I so like your blog.
ReplyDeleteShame you could not go to the concert; did you learn about it too late or were the tickets all sold out?
For this concert, it was to raise money for our local public television station, and the tickets were way out of our price range!
Delete(I suppose all the very wealthy people were able to enjoy him!)
We have supported PBS for many years, they should have given us a discount for doing so!
Kay, Justin has a nice voice, for sure. I love your flower photo. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susie!
DeleteI am sure you remember the Moody Blues, don't you?
Justin's voice sounds just as good now as it ever did.
xx
Our daughter is a huge Justin Hayward fan too, and has seen him and the Moody Blues a number of times. I saw where Paul McCartney is finally going to get the copyright to his songs (from Michael Jackson) in 2017. He was said to have said that it really upset him to have to pay royalties to someone every time he sang one of his own songs.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter has great taste! ;-)
DeleteI have read it has something to do with the copyright laws, is the reason that Paul McCartney will get them back. Of course, I can see why he was upset over losing the copyright.
He seems to be one of those who leaves things like signing a bad contract behind for the joy of singing and performing and moving forward. A good thing that is certain, as is your advice to your son.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I don't know about you, but you can tell a lot about a person by how they handle the bad things that happen to them in life!
DeleteMy hubby took me to see the Moody Blues years ago when we were dating. Best date ever! Could be why I married him! Enjoy your cool weather and your beautiful garden!

DeleteI don't blame you bit, I would have married him FOR SURE!!
DeleteHey Kay! I love Justin Hayward, and of course, I love the Moody Blues. Have you seen the Moody Blues ~ A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony? This one of my all-time favorite DVDs.
ReplyDeleteI brought my first of many Moody Blues albums in 1962! Lovely flower shot! Have a happy week!
I know just the concert that you mean!
DeleteAnd that venue! Wow! I saw Red Rocks when we were in Colorado, and that is the most AMAZING place!!
So happy to know another Moody Blues fan!
"Lovely to see you", thanks for your comment!
Oh...Rainy Night in Georgia....I adore that song...I know I've told you that before! And I love your flower photo!!!
