Peace And Grateful Thanks

Richard and I stopped by a park this past Saturday and went on a walk.  You would never believe it but this is close to a very busy shopping area.   As you can see from our photos, Lenora Park was almost deserted.  It was heavenly!

And then, on the drive back home, we saw some wild turkeys in the front yard of a home not far from our house!  I only managed to get a photo of one of them which is not bad considering I was the one driving and took the photo too!  (Luckily, everyone must have been shopping as there were no other cars on the road.)
No turkeys or drivers were hurt in the production of this photo!

I hope that is a camera that crazy lady has pointed at me!

Amidst all the busyness at this time of year I hope that you find a place of peace and quiet.
Thank you for all who left their sweet comments on my last post about Joan's birthday.  That was a like a big birthday gift, so I thank you!

    1. We think we have a red oak in our back yard too, and it is a beauty, one of the last to turn color we find.
And I do wonder what that turkey must of thought of me, stopping my car in the road to take his picture! :-)

  4. Like your turkey, that's how they should look, not the hormone infused monstrosities we raise and sell.

    1. It is sad to see what turkeys should really look like, it makes you wonder what all those hormones could be doing to us as Americans, doesn't it?

    1. Yes, if you notice, that was on a Saturday that Richard and I walked, it is very hard to get out during the working week. (And very often, R. will work on Saturday!)

    1. You know, I think that this is the latest I have ever seen leaves on the trees like this. Most likely, they will all be gone within a week or so.

  10. The wild turkeys have come out from the wild now that Thanksgiving is over...but they'll dart back out of sight in a couple of weeks when Christmas draws nigh! :)

  11. That's one fine looking turkey. There ain't much better than finding a nice park, or indeed any patch of nature, and just taking it in for a while.

  12. A beautiful park, and strange that not many more people were there on such a gorgeous day!
There are no wild turkeys in my part of the world, but last Sunday while out on the fields I saw a couple of storks - that took me very much by surprise, since normally, they migrate to Africa for the winter.
But this year, it's been very warm and sunny so far, so they may have decided to stay.

    1. I have never seen storks, only photos of them. And of course, they always have cut outs of them in baby showers, since they used to say that storks brought the babies!
I think it was a very busy shopping day and it looked as if no one had time to stop and walk the paths at this park!

  16. I've never seen a wild turkey in the UK but there are quite a few in NZ but if you as much as stop the car within 500 yards of them they scary away very quickly. I've managed a few shots from a long distance with a very powerful lens but nothing as good as your photo.
