They Bring The Flowers That Bloom In May

Gaillardia (Indian paintbrush) in my own back yard!

In late April, we "skyped" with our in-laws in England.  I MAY or MAY NOT have sung a song to them.
What do YOU think?

Evening primrose- Arabia Mountain

Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that bloom in May,
So if it's raining , have no regrets,
Because it isn't raining rain, you know. (it's raining violets.)

Is it really possible that someone would sing this to their oh-so-elegant and refined in-laws?
Well, yes...I would!

Happy 45th Wedding Anniversary to Joan & Peter, my sweet in-laws!  Another reason to celebrate May! (The new princess was born on their anniversary!)

  1. Doing the maths here and I am mildly surprised that my parents are already going to have their Golden Wedding Anniversary this year - in spite of them being younger than your in-laws. And if my first husband and I had not divorced nearly 15 years ago, we'd have our Silver Wedding this year. Goodness, that makes me feel old! (Not really.)

Happy Anniversary to your lovely in-laws!

We really needed all the rain we've had in the past week, April was far too dry. But now that is has rained a while, we'd love to have our sunshine back so that we can enjoy the wonderful flowers that have come out since!

  3. We have had our Ruby Wedding. Where do the years go!
I wish our spring would come - it is wet, windy and very chilly again today. The buds on the trees are only just breaking and the plants are looking distinctly miserable. Perhaps tomorrow we shall go straight to summer - and so until it comes I shall make do with pictures of your plants and trees!

    Congratulations to your in-laws too.

  9. And when you see clouds upon the hill, you soon will see crowds of daffodils. So keep on looking for that bluebird and listening for his song whenever April showers come along. Al Jolson could choose a song couldn't he?

  10. Neat flowers. I liked the April Showers on the uke. It's one of the songs I play on my ukelele, only I can't do anything but strum.

    1. Hey Dennis!
Is there no end to your talents? You must have told me that you can play the ukulele before, but if so, I don't recall. I am most impressed!
I quite liked this gentleman playing this, glad you did too!
