On Top Of The World In The North Georgia Mountains

These photos were taken this past weekend at Lake Burton, Clayton and Black Rock Mountain State Park.
Clear blue skies, fresh mountain air, clear trout streams and bright blossoming trees...

    Specatcular views! What tree is the one with the red and pink blossoms - or are they two different trees? My neigbhour has a lilac tree which produces blossoms in white, pale lilac and deep purple, all from the one stem, therefore I know it is possible for one to have more than one colour.

      We wondered the same thing! This tree was on Main Street in Clayton and was just beside a hair salon, so we didn't get very close to it. Like you, we know that it COULD be the same tree, or is it two trees planted very close together? We might have gotten a bit closer to it, but since the business was closed, we didn't want the townspeople to think we were up to no good! Who would believe that two adults were just in love with blossoms on a tree? (Yes, Officer, I know this sounds funny but you see, my husband and I were just looking at this tree!) I will just tell the cops here to read my blog!

      It was actually quite cold (you can see our jackets) but it was sunny and clear and the air was very fresh!

      You will have to go to Clayton and identify that tree for me! If you don't get there this Spring, go next year...it was next to a hair salon at the end of Main Street.

    That's a glorious view. I live near some places like that and I should really go see them some time. I finally got to fulfil my dream of going to Sherwood Forest last year.

      Yes, I remember seeing Sherwood Forest on a blog, and I remember saying that I was glad that they shared the photos, as I most likely would never be in that part of England.

      We really don't know what kind of tree that it is, to be honest. The trees in North Georgia are way behind the trees in this area, but that tree in Clayton...we just don't know what it is! It's not dogwood or crabapple, I do know those blossoms...so...maybe someone will see this and tell me!
