Vaughn Botanical Garden in Old Town Conyers. The upper right corner is now an ice skating rink.
The water tower behind me in this photo was THE water tower for Conyers in the early 1900's. Not too many people here then!
(It looks like the tower for Rapunzel, don't you think?)
Hope you enjoyed my photos from November! Of course, Richard took most of them! And the ones that are of the two of us, Richard figured out how to do the timer, but he barely made it back in time for the photo, which made us laugh, of course! Hope you all are finding something to laugh about these days! |
Hi Kay! I am always up for some Fall colors ~ you know it's my favorite. And I love seeing Conyers....I've never been there. Hope you're off to a good, fun start this lovely year of 2013!!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Wow, Audrey! That was a quick comment!
DeleteThere are LOADS of ugly spots I could show you in Conyers...but you and I only seek out the beauty in life, right?
You know those are gingko trees in my Monastery photo, right? I know those are some of your favorites! xx
Wow- Those colors are beautiful. It makes me long fo Fall all over again. Blessings to you and I hope you have a great night- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana! And now you know the ice skating rink that Honey Boo Boo visited!
DeleteI love the rich colours of autumn, but right now I long to see the delicate green shoots of spring emerging.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Spring too. My son's birthday is in the Autumn, but mine is in the Spring, and I have always loved it.
DeleteMy picture that I have next to my name is of Stone Mountain in the Spring!
He he even with your tricky standing on the rock, you didn't manage to be quite as tall as Richard :-D
ReplyDeleteLove the colourful pictures!
The true Rapunzel tower is, by the way, in Ludwigsburg's castle grounds. You can see it in the 5th picture of this post:

Yes, laughter is what never lacks from my life, thankfully - and it makes things so much nicer, doesn't it!
HAHA, even THEN I can't be as tall!
DeleteAnd I looked at your post, and remember that post so well, it was one of my FAVORITES! I can JUST see the tower, any chance you could go back and get a closer shot? (I am so bossy!)
I laugh as much as possible, but I giggle at life even more!
We can't have too many reminders of those wonderful autumnal colours - everything looks so drab here at the moment. I love the name of your town, it sounds so relaxed and friendly - just like you, in fact!
ReplyDeleteI really like the bare trees of winter but our November was truly spectacular!
DeleteRelaxed and friendly, I tell you, I am so laid back, I am almost horizontal! HA HA, I kill me! I would do stand-up comedy, if I just had the guts to stand up!
Laughter and autumnal colours - two of life's beautiful things.
ReplyDeleteYes, GB, I think so! :-)
DeleteI don't mind at all that you went back to November for your pictures - I do love fall and it's colors most of all! Luckily, here so much is always green and blooming so that winter doesn't seem dreary at all, even on a rainy day like today...
ReplyDeleteAnd laughter - yes! It's so important. Luckily, our crazy pets make us laugh every day...
Wishing you a beautiful day! Love, Silke
Thanks, Silke! Glad you liked these photos too!
DeleteAnd you know, I took the photo of the birthday cake, I just remembered!
I enjoy lovely pictures no matter when they are taken! You live in a beautiful area. I hope that you are having a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Just like anywhere in America, we have ugly strip malls and lots of traffic, but I won't show that on my blog! I search for beauty, always!
DeleteAnd I meant to say, we might be kindred spirits! :-)
I think we are kindred spirits! I won't show strip malls and traffic either - unless I have a point to make! I, too, search for beauty always! :)
DeleteIt's always a good time for lovely photos like these. Hope you had a happy new year and that 2013 will be filled with peace and blessings. Carol
ReplyDeleteOh hey Carol! So good to hear from you!
DeleteThank you! And hope you have a wonderful 2013 too! :-)
Beautiful pictures and colors! I love the colors of autumn. It is more like September at my place:-)
ReplyDeleteI know, even this was a bit late for our area, I was afraid that we wouldn't have much color, maybe that it is why I was so thrilled, November was amazing in the autumn colors.
DeleteAutumn pictures are always a beautiful sight!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mimi! Glad you liked this too!
DeleteLovely fall colors! We need them here today, though the sun is peeking out on all the snow!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love snow too! We don't have it often, but when we do!! My header photo at the moment is of the Monastery in the snow from a few years ago...sun sparkling on snow...one of my favorite sights!!!
DeleteThe colors of November are always welcome with me! Yes, that tower does look like Rapunzel might live there.
ReplyDeleteRapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!
DeleteI still remember all my children's stories and books, I loved them all so much.
Thanks so much for your comment!
I never get tired of seeing fall photos and your son's birthday cake looked great! I also want to thank you for visiting my oppossum post and telling me about the book. We don't have little ones now but I do have a great niece who is a toddler.
ReplyDeleteHA! I am so fancy! That is peanut M&M's on it, and that HAPPY BIRTHDAY is something that I wash and keep using...it might be about 15 or 16 years old now, it might break one day!
DeletePOSSUM COME A KNOCKIN' COME A KNOCKIN', COME A KNOCKIN'
possum come a knockin' at the door! Such wonderful rhyme and rhythm! Let me know if you find it! :-)
We don't get the Fall colors, so thanks for sharing yours!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like them too!
DeleteLovely to see those bright colours at this grey time. Happy new Year to you Kay!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you understand my way of thinking!
DeleteHappy new year to you, too!
Hello Kay,
ReplyDeleteColour and smiles are always good! Works for me!
Best wishes Ivan
Hey Ivan!
DeleteColour and smiles, yes, I love it!
And in your honour, I spelled it with a "u"! (HonOUR, too!)
Gosh! It's lovely to go back and enjoy the colors of fall. These are so beautiful! I hope it's not too cold now for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kay!
DeleteIt's not too cold (that photo of the snow in my header was from years ago) but we have had some rainy, gray days and I miss the sun when it is like that!!
Beautiful images. In particular, what a neat shot of the sun reflecting off buildings!
ReplyDeleteThanks, and thanks for your comment!
DeleteThose buildings are in downtown Atlanta and are about 18 miles away from Arabia Mountain. We are sometimes amazed at how close they seem!
