Remember Richard's " Dawn Is A Feeling" Post? This is the view that made me get up so early.
The flowers along the seafront in Eastbourne are so beautiful. We were there in late Spring, just before a very wet June, but we were lucky, we saw some very nice days.
So neat and tidy, English gardens are lovely. Especially this one!
The pier in Eastbourne on a very windy day. This was just before the Queen's Jubilee.
This English garden is lined with pansies and a really beautiful white flower called "Snow In Summer", which does not grow in Georgia. I always look for it when I am in England.
No roses were safe from me...I loved them all, just like these ones growing over a wall!
Hope you enjoyed looking over some of our photos from England, here I am back home and this was just taken this morning at Arabia Mountain, and it almost looks like Glinda the Good Witch right in front of me, doesn't it?
Remember Richard trying to find a good video of "Dawn Is A Feeling"? I found this one and I hope you like it as much as I do. It's a very good song and except for the middle part, where it kind of sounds a bit umm...slightly psychedelic, , I think it sounds very contemporary. Love the Moody Blues!
I like the photo of the Eastbourne pier. Huzzah!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra. That pier is really beautiful, it was an added bonus with all the flags!
DeleteI really enjoyed the photos - England is at the top of my "I want to see" list.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more of England, Scotland and Ireland, and then perhaps go across to the Continent. Someday!
DeleteOh, this made me "homesick" ... we were at Lyme Regis in 2010, and it was the best trip of my life. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAnd there are lots of places that you could ride a bike, beautiful open countryside. Just remember the cars on the other side of the road. Very important, right?
DeleteI was just back in England for a week. Took me ages to recover, we did so much in such a short time.

Hey Janice!
DeleteAnd I bet the time really flew, didn't it? :-)
Lovely pictures from your trip. The dawn photograph is lovely. The rosy fingertips of dawn are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are settling back into life at home.
hugs,

Thanks! And I hope that YOU are enjoying your lovely married life. Hugs to you and hope all is well in your part of the country.
DeleteHello Kay:
ReplyDeleteAs we may have mentioned before, Eastbourne is only down the road from us in Brighton and is a town we very much enjoy visiting especially when travelling along the coast road on top of a double decker.
These splendid pictures are a wonderful reminder of an English seaside town.
Hello Jane & Lance!
DeleteYes, of course, I remember that you live part of the year in Brighton, isn't that where many of the artists and writers live? And yes, being on top of a double decker on a bright sunny day must be wonderful.
Thanks for your comment! Take care.
I can just picture (!) you going over your England photos with a sigh that is both a mixture of happy memories and longing for your next visit - because it is what I do when I look at my England pics :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is so true, thinking of that last trip and hoping for the next one to come very soon. :-)
DeleteHopefully!
It's been a while since I've been in Eastbourne, but your photos have reminded me how lovely it is. That's a beautiful dawn photo, if only I could waken to that every day!
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely day in a lovely spot. Very grateful for the sunrise when the month of June was so wet in England!
DeleteAAAH!! I envy you!
ReplyDeleteWell, go and visit England then! You would love it!
DeleteIf it's just as easy as that, I would've done it already! :D
DeleteTsk,tsk with all your designing genius, you should design yourself to England! :-) You are young, you will get there one day!
DeleteI love all roses too, and I'm very fond of the bight pink Valerian along the sea front. I just wish it didn't keep wanting to make a take-over bid for the garden.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is Valerian? I had no idea what it was, I just liked the look of it and as you can see, it was quite taking over that bank along the seafront!
DeleteThanks for your comment!
Beautiful photos, Kay, and a lovely video, too. I particularly like the image of the pier in Eastbourne with all those flags flying in the wind. I imagine you're looking forward to your next visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Martha! I am glad that you liked the video too. Richard wanted to have that on his post but couldn't find one without an orchestra background. (He is so picky about his music!)
DeleteI took some photos here but Richard took the one with the pier and the flags blowing strongly in the wind. He is good, isn't he?
I almost feel like I was there myself! Really lovely...
ReplyDeleteAudrey,
DeleteYou would love to visit Eastbourne, it has such a lovely long seafront and it has not been overly developed the way that oceanfront towns have become in the USA. Those Viotorians really knew how to build things to last.
AHHHH Kay (and Glinda the Good Witch), lovely, lovely. Yes, I always ASPIRE to a tidy English garden, but no such luck (or bent). I love it when things spill onto pathways. (Jeff loves to trim things and prune them to stubs).
ReplyDeleteLove this and am happy to have a few moments to visit with you,
S
Dear Sharon Lovejoy,
DeleteOh, I am pleased to BITS that you visited me here today! Glad you appreciate Richard catching that sunray in front of me, actually I think it is my little positive bubble of happiness that I always have with me!
I see that you won't be coming to Georgia on your book tour. I do hope you will get to visit the Suncoast Bird Sanctuary when you are in Florida. Remember I told you about it? Hope all goes well with your new bird book!
England is beautiful and we especially enjoyed all the countryside and the gardens and the Cotswalds (sp?). Everything is just so fresh and lush. Glad you had a great trip. Your photos are always lovely.
ReplyDeleteHello Connie!
DeleteEngland is so beautiful. I just looked it up and...
Oh dear, now you are making me want to go to the Cotswolds!!!
Thanks for your comment!
England was the first overseas place we took our children and I still remember how much fun it was. I haven't heard the Moody Blues in such a long time. This was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteKay
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of your next trip to England, have you booked the tickets for Chris de Burgh yet?
The Cotswolds are on the way to God's Own County,Herefordshire.
Kind Regards
Henry and Sarah
Hey Henry & Sarah!
DeleteYou have to talk with the Boss Man about that one!
And I want to see the Cotswolds AND Herefordshire!
Give our love to Joy & Henry and keep lots for yourself and Sarah!
