Today is "Make Up Your Mind Day"!
Now, how many of you are singing the song by The Lovin' Spoonful"? What, you don't know it? Now, you will...
"Did You Ever Have To Make Up Your Mind"
Does everything remind me of a song? Pretty much! There's a lot of tunes in my brain, leaving no room for important information like passwords for computers, or if I have paid a bill or where I put the latest invitation to an important engagement...but tell me one little thing and I will have a song to go with it. (Now, where did I put that bill....)
=====================================
Hey! Besides climbing up Stone Mountain, I also walk this way...
and THAT that way when I am at the top!
I do my best to keep "walking the walk" as my friend, Pat tells me to do from the Isle of Lewis! Thanks, Pat for your encouragement and to you all for your kind words from this past year!
Happy New Year!
A favorite song of mine! I used to play it on the guitar when I was in college. It's wonderful that you have so many songs in your mind, Kay! I wish you and all your family a wonderful and satisfying 2018!
ReplyDeleteThe same is wished for you! Now, go and play that guitar! :-)
DeleteNo guitar anymore, but I do play the piano and have one.
DeleteOh, I hope you still play the piano then! My Dad made sure we had a piano in our home as we were growing up, and she played it beautifully. Once, I asked her to play from her "Book of Waltzes" as a birthday gift for me, that is how much I loved to hear her play them!
DeleteI meant that my sister played it beautifully, left that part out! LOL!
DeleteBill, I love you so I always will... by the Fifth Dimension. I do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteYou know I know that one! I saw the Fifth Dimension once on a plane, the women were even prettier in person!
DeleteHappy New Year, our walk was rather cold this morning.
ReplyDeleteI am typing this on Jan. 1st, it is REALLY cold today, looks like snow to me.
DeleteHappy New Year, Kay. It's been a few years since I climbed Stone Mountain. It sure is pretty on top!
ReplyDeleteCome on now, you can always take the lift to the top, I will meet you there!
DeleteHappy New Year, Kay! All the best for 2018
ReplyDeleteThe best is wished for you, with all good vibrations!
DeleteOh- yes- I well remember that song!!! There are so many songs that run through my head, too. AND- I mourn the loss of many of those artists as the years have passed. It is sad when you think of the music/songs that died with them.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful 2018! xo Diana
I KNOW that you have those songs, I know it from your book! AND that is why it would make such a great MOVIE!
DeleteHappy New year to you!!
Happy New Year to you and your lovely family Kay,lovely pics xx
ReplyDeleteThe same is wished for you! Stone Mountain is not really a mountain, it is a MONADNOCK and it just JUTS up from the land around it. (We have a few more nearby but Stone Mountain is the highest.) I have written quite a bit about Stone Mountain on my blog, if you go back and see!
DeleteHappy New Year to you and yours! xx
Happy New Year! May you have many lovely visits to your monadnocks this year!
ReplyDeleteTHanks! That is my goal for this year, to walk as much as possible.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and your family! Nothing wrong with a head full of tunes! See you next year!
ReplyDeleteOh good, I am glad you think so. For a minute there, I thought I might be "Crazy". (Great song written by Willie Nelson, but made famous by Patsy Cline.)
DeleteHappy New Year to you!
You brought two songs to my mind. Walk This Way Talk This Way. And Bill I love You So I Always Will. Sometimes the songs stored in my head drive other people crazy but theu are all good friends to me.
ReplyDeleteMy songs are all good friends to me too, I like the way you think!
DeleteWishing you much Joy and Happiness in the New Year !
ReplyDeleteJoy and Happiness, wished for you too! x
DeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR, KAY! ALOHA FROM HAWAII.
ReplyDeleteSame to you guys! Wish I were in Hawaii right now!
DeleteWe all have our strengths and the things that make us what we are. I listen to music most of the time and my collection of (classical) music is vast and contains composers many will never have heard of. However I am hopeless when it comes to identifying a piece of music or of being able to think of a 'suitable' piece for an occasion (as I was last night). Things you take for granted because they are inherently 'you'. On the other hand I know exactly where my bills are. My skill may be more use in every day life but it certainly does not make me half as interesting a person as you are.
ReplyDeleteWhat a well thought out comment, Graham! Also, I know enough to recognize my weaknesses and I make sure that RICHARD knows where the bills are! Do I depend on my husband a bit much? Maybe so, but doggone it, he is so very much organized than I am!
DeleteMy father in law in England is a big fan of classical music, so you have made me a bit homesick for him!
Happy New Year to you, Graham, hope it is filled with music.
Is that you climbing Stone Mtn? Koodos to you!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI do remember The Lovin' Spoonful!
Happy New Year!
sandie
Hey Sandie! Yes, that is me but if you ever see me there, I will be the red faced one that is huffing and puffing as I climb! LOL!
DeleteHappy new year!
I made up my mind to have a very lazy day...actually, I made my mind up to have a very lazy Festive Season...and I succeeded in doing so! :)
ReplyDeleteMy best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful 2018, Kay. My wish is for only the best things in life go your way and land in your lap! :)
Dear Lee, I wish the very same to you. I like the idea of having a lazy day, sounds very peaceful, and that is what I wish for you, a peaceful 2018!
