Wonderful to know that the Braves are in Spring Training in Florida! It is called the Grapefruit League, when the baseball teams are playing there! I like to watch the baseball games on TV with my Dad. How do we do that? I speak with him on the phone and it's great fun, since his TV is a few seconds ahead of mine, so he will sometimes have a low whistle or a shout of joy and then... I will see what that means! (Sometimes, it is a strike-out, sometimes a home run!)
Of course, it is also a treat to watch them live at the stadium. A few years back, my son was at the game with a few friends and the camera lingered on them for a few minutes and that is the image you see above! Okay Christopher, here you are with your friend, Jim, in all your grainy handsomeness!
I notice that they will often have the camera on very good looking people, those who are easy on the eyes. Just saying, son!
One of the things that is keeping me busy...look at that pizza above, it has a gluten free crust and I have ahem...SLAVED okay, worked quite hard on getting that just right. I have had some fun times lately, trying to make good food for Richard that is tasty but also healthy for him. You should wish me luck, trying to put weight on my husband at the same time that I am trying to lose weight. Oh, the irony of life! (Did you know that in England, it is measured in "stones' rather than pounds? It's true! I would like to lose a stone, which is 14 pounds in the American language!)
Hey, I only have about two dozen things that I want to tell you all about! Y'all are just sitting on the edge of your seat to know what all I have to tell you next, I am sure. I hope one day to somehow get things sorted out so that I can blog properly again.
It's been a while since I had this great video of Harpo playing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"...and you might not remember it anyway, so here it is again....
TAKE CARE EVERYONE! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! Going to hopefully take some long walks, gotta lose that STONE, don't you know!
That pizza looks PERFECT, Kay - I can almost smell it and hear that crackling sizzling sound that comes from it when you just take it out of the oven!
ReplyDeleteThe "grainy handsomeness" made me smile :-)
Why do you think you need to lose a stone? Not last time I saw a picture of you!
I really should say that both Richard and I have worked very hard on that pizza together, quite a bit of trial and error you could say!
DeleteAnd I took the photo from our old TV, not like Peter's nice HD TV in England where I took the photos of the Queen! LOL.
And thanks, Meike, but it just goes to show what a great photographer Richard truly is!! HA! I have lost some but hopefully will get to that stone loss soon!
Yummy pizza...but I too gotta lose a stone. Walk, walk, walk....
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed! Walk and eat less. Trouble for me, when I walk, I want to eat lots MORE! ;-)
DeleteI like calling weight stones, cause I feel like I'm carrying extra stones around my waist.
ReplyDeleteMe too, that is why I need to lose it!
DeleteI miss watching the ballgames with my mother. My kids used to sit in the back yard and laugh at us screaming at the television. The pizza looks yummy. And I remember watching Harpo play Take Me Out To The Ballgame on his harp. He was a great musician.
ReplyDeleteI love the Marx Brothers! They were all so talented and very, very funny! Trouble is, our world just can't handle people who are multi-talented, we tend to put them into certain boxes, don't we?
DeleteGluten free can be very difficult to get it to taste right, but i know you are doing a great job! That picture proves it, it makes me hungry to look at it.
ReplyDeleteYou've talked about how to watch TV with your Dad before, and i think it's so wonderful that the two of you keep close that way!
You are so right about getting gluten free just right. Lord knows I have been trying our whole married life!
DeleteAnd baseball season will start soon, can't wait!!
Always happy to listen to anything you have to share! xx
ReplyDeleteAmy, you are just the sweetest thing! And you should learn the words and music to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". It is a very happy song and besides, it is very good to sing to babies! Just saying, in case you ever have a baby around who wants to be sung to! xx
DeleteI loved the Marx Brothers when I was a kid (I still think they were brilliantly funny, witty, clever and talented). I used to mimic Harpo and Groucho and my brother Graham used to tease me...but I kept the family highly amused! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Marx Brothers were BRILLIANT!! I often say "walk this way" at work and then, bend over at the waist. Hardly anyone knows what I am talking about, LOL!!
DeleteI keep myself highly amused! :-)
Your boy does look pretty great up there. It's really awesome and sweet you call your dad and watch the game with him. Get in the new age and do a video call with him so you can see his reactions as well as hear them.
ReplyDeleteWe can Skype with my in-laws with England but my Dad, he doesn't get on too well with the computer, so alas, I will just have to listen to his reactions over the phone! I do need to take your advice though and get into the new age...I still find a lot of this computer stuff very challenging. I need help with everything, including how to work the DVR. (I just had to ask Richard what the dang thing was called, if that gives you any idea of what I am like, I should have lived in the days of hoop skirts, I am paff! (Isn't that you say for pathetic in England?)
