I really love this cartoon. This is from a Christmas card and my son knows how much I like this, so last year he found one in a store and bought it for us. Funny and positive, this is my kind of humor!

I really like this hymn! I would love to find the choir that I heard on the radio but maybe you would like to hear the tune and sing along with it? Go ahead and sing, you know you want to!
Now, I ask you, do you know this song? It seems that it is not very well known in the USA but then, maybe I have just missed it. Let me know if you like it as much as I do!
I love this song!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I should have known you would know it, Nan! :-)
DeleteBeautiful music. I listen to Christmas songs and watch Christmas movies all during the season.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like this one too!
DeleteNever heard this song before, but it is nice that you took something good out of the stopped traffic! Most people simply get angry and impatient in that situation.
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon is very funny :-)
I love your header photo! I know you either had the same one last year around Christmas, or at least of the same place (old station and now it's a shop, or something like that?).
The construction on that stretch of inter-state highway has been a long drawn out thing and they only do it on the weekends, so I have to allow extra time to get to my Dad's on time!
DeleteThe header photo is from Olde Town Conyers, that building was the train depot at one time, it is used as a tourist office now, they mostly tell the film crews where to park! (They shoot TV shows and movies in the old town now!) And really, that photo is from last year, but it looks about the same this year, so I have it on here again!
That little snowman is so cute - very funny. A new carol to me - thank you for sharing. I love to see some Latin! Merry Christmas to you and your family, and thank you for visiting my blog this year.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love to see some Latin too! Merry Christmas to you and yours also, so happy to find you too, Patricia!
DeleteHaha! I love the card : )
ReplyDeleteI've never heard this carol and it's very pretty. The choir rendition is beautiful!
If you look at YouTube, you can find other choirs singing it too. I was very pleased to enjoy a Christmas hymn that I have never heard before!
DeleteLove the cartoon. I'm pretty sure I've heard the carol on one of those rare visits to the village church at Christmas. And, as it is that time, a very Merry Christmas to you and your family and all that's good in the year ahead.
ReplyDeleteAh, the churches in England, you have no idea how much I love them! I have great hopes that one day the USA will copy you and we will also have the TV show, SONGS OF PRAISE. I hope so!! And Mike, I wish you a very Merry Christmas also, and if you get snow, I hope it is Deep Pan Crisp and Even! HA!!
DeleteI love your card ! and though I'd never heard the song before, it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them both! :-)
DeleteMy sympathy on the traffic, we have similar here. It does give you time to listen to the radio, although i've never heard that song.
ReplyDeleteThe card is a hoot! That's my kind of humor, too.
Like the song says, the traffic is terrific!!
DeleteI must say, this is a new carol to me as well, but it is delightful!
ReplyDeleteWell, Debra, if YOU don't know it, then I don't feel so bad! :-)
DeleteHAHAHA! I love the card. And this song is really nice. First time I'm hearing it.
ReplyDeleteHey Martha, you always have such funny cartoons on your blog too! Now, all my blogging friends will know this song and we will give it new life! :-)
Delete'Funny and positive' - two wonderful and admirable qualities in my book!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
Delete"You gotta eliminate the negative, accentuate the positive, and don't mess with Mr. In Between"!
Love the cartoon!
ReplyDeleteNow every time you see a picture of a snowman with coal eyes, you will think of this cartoon. Someone meant it for bad, but he turned it into something good!
DeleteWhat an adorable cartoon! It's all about perspective! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYes, that is it precisely! Show your girls the cartoon, I bet they will like it too!! :-)
DeleteLove the card, but never heard the song. It was beautiful, though.
ReplyDeleteHey Laurie! Glad you liked them both! Belated birthday wishes for you and Merry Christmas!
DeleteWonderful Christmas post! I love your header pic..very festive! I think that card would be the perfect one for an eye doc to receive..you can tell I work in health care! So funny! I'd never heard that song before and it is very beautiful...thanks for sharing and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI saw that there is a clip of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing this, so I thought you might know it!
DeleteAnd my header picture is of the depot in Conyers, Georgia! Merry Christmas, my friend! Have a wonderful time with your family!
It has been predicted we could receive a few showers on Christmas Day and cooler summer temps...which will be great if both occur.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family, Kay. :)
We will not only have a few showers, we might have up to 5 inches of rain!
DeleteHope you have a wonderful Christmas too! xx
Nice Card.
ReplyDeleteI love that card! Glad to share something to make you smile! Happy Christmas!
DeleteI never heard that carol before, but it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Happy Christmas to you all, and best wishes for 2016. x
ReplyDeleteJoanne Fox, so happy to see your comment here!! Happy Christmas to you too and all best wishes to you for 2016!! xxx
DeleteI know the song from a Christmas songbook I have. I do a little Irish Christmas Medley in church on Christmas eve every few years: Wexford Carol and The Snow Lay on the Ground. I'm doing the medley this Christmas Eve. I love the cartoon.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to hear those two songs together! Wish I could go to your church service on Christmas Eve!
DeleteI remember a sermon where the point of it was "You meant it for bad but I turned it into good", and I have never forgotten it! Merry Christmas!
I do know The Snow Lay On The Ground. I recognised it at least. It is nice, like most hymns. That card is pretty fun too, and a nice message. Plus coal gives us heat and fire. It's far more practical than most presents good kids get.
ReplyDeleteI was glad that I heard a hymn that I had never heard before!
DeleteIt has been many years since I saw a lump of coat. I think I used to see them beside the railroad track but if so, I am showing my age!
