If you look carefully at these two photos, you will recognize that both photos were taken in the same place...that is the pier in the background and both were taken in Eastbourne, in England! I took the photo above in October of 2015. (You know I took it, it is blurry!)
And I can guess that Richard's mother took the photo below of Richard when he was a little boy!
It tickles me to see that he is concentrating on his sand castle, so much so that he doesn't even notice anyone taking a picture of him!
Looking at a photo of our son from years ago when we visited a children's zoo in England, I was struck by the resemblance between father and son!

That's so wonderful, that you got to take a photo in the same spot your husband was in many years ago :) Looks like a beautiful beach! I love watching kids get totally lost in what they doing, they only care about the moment. I wish us adults were like that more often and would just enjoy the moment :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's so much easier to see the resemblance when you compare the childhood photos, right? When I see photos of my mom and her mom as little girls, I cannot tell them apart :D
Have a wonderful week!
Lots of hugs,
Beate
Hey! Happy to see your comment here! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Wishing you all the best for 2016.
DeleteHope you have plenty of moments that you completely enjoy!
The family resemblance is obvious in each and every picture you've shown us of Peter, Richard and Christopher. And if one day Christopher should have a little boy, I hope they'll take him to Easbourne, too, and take a picture of him on the beach :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of another little boy in the family!
Delete:-)
That's cute!
ReplyDeleteHey John! Thanks, Richard scanned some photos for me. I am useless on the computer!
DeleteWhat fun to compare pictures of the generations. Love the Eastbourne pics. Over Christmas we compared photos of our son when he was the age of his own little boy - who is looking just like his Dad!
ReplyDeleteThese little boys grow up quickly!
DeleteThe son is very much like the father. Wonderful pictures !
ReplyDeleteThanks, MA!
DeleteWho does the frog look like...?
ReplyDeleteWhy, that would be YOU, my friend! HA!
DeleteWe often take so many of them now that we forget what treasures photos can be. Family resemblances are fun to pick out in old pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt tickled me because they both had their mouth set i the same way, they usually are both smiling!
DeleteLove the little boy and grown man photo taken in the same spot. I bet your husband has many stories to fill in between. Happy New Year, Kay!
ReplyDeleteStories? Mmmm....like being in Atlanta and being mistaken for one of the Rolling Stones? HA! It made for some nice attention at a restaurant! So funny!!
DeleteHappy New Year to you too!!
They do look very much alike.
ReplyDeleteMy poor son, he spent his whole childhood being told he looked just like me! :-)
DeleteThese are the kinds of things that make a good family history. You are wise to record them.
ReplyDeleteLove to look at old family photos!
DeleteWonderful, cherished photos of wonderful, cherished people; a family who obviously cherish each other...and there's few better words to use other than "cherish" when it comes to loved ones. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Lee, where are you when I am trying to come up with words? Thank you for your thoughtful comment!
DeleteI just love old black and white photos and the one of your hubby as a child is very cool! You are right...your son looks just like his Dad!
ReplyDeleteFun to look at family photos!
DeleteYou have such handsome men in your life. Blessing to all of you.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Blessings to you and to your family. x
DeleteThey really do look alike! I look more like my mum than my dad. Especially in the face. I have my dad's brains though so I'm good.
ReplyDeleteLove that last pic especially. :) Hope you have had a good Christmas, Kay!
