Wildflower Hike At Panola Mountain!

Tomorrow will be another hike for me up Panola Mountain!  Just in case my photos don't turn out very well, would you like to see what was blooming on Arabia Mountain on April 5, 2013?  These blooms will be very similar on Panola but they might not be as far along this year since we have had a much cooler Spring than last year...still, it should be nice!

This is a scheduled Wildflower Hike, so I will be most happy to hear about all the flowers that are blooming. There might not be as many blooming as they normally are this time of year, but that is okay with me, the bright red diamorpha, the lovely white sandwort (I used to call them joyflowers before I knew the name!) and the bright yellow blooms of the hairy grounsel will make me very happy indeed.

It is supposed to be a beautiful day and I will be looking at the sky too!  I really love these monadnocks. When I am there, I am in my element and the time passes by so quickly.
Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend too, doing what you love!
(I have so many posts that I am working on for you. So many things to tell you and so little time!)

  3. Enjoy the hike, dear Kay, and don't worry about your blog - offline life always takes precedence :-)

I know what you mean with being in your element. Places and times like that, it is when we don't want to be anywhere else right now, when everything seems to be just right for us. Such precious times we all need.

    1. It's frustrating though when you have so much you want to write and life just gets in the way!
Anywhere in nature is the best place for me, but even a beautiful building as long it passes my standards for beauty, is perfect for me too!

  6. I would love to hike that area if I lived around there. My neighbor Jean and I are going to hike at the California Poppy Reserve this coming Wednesday.

  8. Enjoy your hike, Kay...but watch where you're walking. When you decide to look at the sky...stop walking; look up and when you've had your fill of sky, cast your eyes to where you're walking once again! :)

I look forward to your photos...I'm sure you'll succeed in taking some beautiful ones.

    1. The trail going to Panola Mountain is quite hilly so one always has to step very gingerly and stop to look at the sky! In fact, when I do my post, you will be very surprised at what I saw on the trail and what the trail guide (the Park Ranger) did with the object that I found!

  11. Great photographs Kay. Nothing like a day of spring sunshine to lift the mood of anyone out in it. Nature therapy. Works every time.

    1. Everyone might not agree with me, but I always think of nature as being God made and not man made. All that beauty must come from God, everything is so intricately designed, so perfect, it is too awesome for words.
