If you are not able to get outside to exercise, I hope you will come back to my blog and look at my last post and then, just march around the room to "Do You Love Me? Then, try to do all the dances mentioned in the song! Go on, you know that you can dance!
This is my first post of January. What have I been doing? Mainly, trying to avoid the virus! Do you remember the film "Matrix"? I think of that when I twist and turn myself in so many directions trying to avoid getting close to people. And you better believe I am wearing a mask too!
I do have something to tell you all about and I hope you will be happy about this too! Remember my post where I shared the link to SoundCloud, where our son had some songs on there? Look...let me see if I can do it again...
Christopher's songs on SoundCloud
There, if you click on that link above, you can hear them and he now has added "Heart of Gold"! Okay, here is what I want to tell you...
one of the songs that he did is "My Back Pages" which is a song by The Byrds. Christopher sent his SoundCloud recording to Roger McGuinn, the lead singer of The Byrds and Roger shared it on his Twitter account! YES!
Isn't that wonderful? I think so! Sorry, but I am in need of good news these days! I have told Christopher that I want to make him a t-shirt with the words "My Vocals Are Spot On". On the back of the shirt, it can say, "Roger McGuinn Says So!" And if anyone has a 12 string guitar just lying around...
Take care everyone! Stay healthy!
How cool to earn such approval!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Wasn't it great for him to respond and share it on his Twitter? Made my day! x
DeleteMarvelous news. You must all be so proud. And yes I can mashed potato and twist along with a bunch of other dances of that time.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed by our son's talent! Always have been, to be honest.
DeleteAnd yes, I just bet you can do all those dances!
Wow! Super cool! Congratulations to your son...he was probably over the moon!
ReplyDeleteI think he was very pleased but he is half British, so he doesn't jump around all over the place like I do! LOL!
DeleteWay to go, Christopher!
ReplyDeleteYes! He will see these comments, so thanks very much from him!
DeleteWoohoo! Three cheers for Christopher - and how cool that Roger McGuinn sees (or hears) that, too!
ReplyDeleteYou really should have the t-shirt made for your son.
Like you, I have been trying to avoid other people as much as possible. Today I will need to go to the post office - my first foray into town this week, and probably the only one. Good job masks are mandatory here in town center, no matter whether your inside a shop or out on the street.
People are supposed to wear masks here but somehow...it has become a political statement to NOT wear one. So stupid.
DeleteOur Covid rates are at an all time high and we are being warned that will be getting worse. Scary times in America.
That's why this tiny little piece of news, a known singer acknowledging C's vocal talents pleased me so very much.
And hey! I used to make t-shirts like that! I had a few fabric paints and I had so much fun making them for my nieces and nephews when they were little. I love to make things!
Absolutely loved it. If I could write music I would write a song for him to sing. I can do lyrics but music isn't my thing. Why not buy some of that printable iron on fabric that you can run through your printer. Make a 'fan t shirt'. I did that for my son when he was in a band in college.
ReplyDeleteHey! I've never heard of doing a t shirt like that, maybe I will try to work it out and do it!! Thanks!
DeleteLike you, I can write lyrics and not music. Here's a funny thing- one time, I wrote some lyrics and thought up a tune to go with them. I called home and sang it into the answering machine. I asked my son to listen to it, telling him I wrote it, music and lyrics. He laughed and told me that the tune was really, "Suspicious Minds"! LOL!!
The endorsement must have given Chris a boost. I liked his Running Water.
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks, Graham! Thanks for listening. Our son was always a big Moody Blues fan! We must have taken him to at least 6 or 7 concerts starting at age 5! He knows their music, obviously.
DeleteMusic and good news seems to go together . I'm doing a happy dance for your son. How wonderful to have his work acknowledged. We'll keep dancing through life everyday and sooner rather than later we'll all get through this corona virus.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being pleased for Christopher! We have to get through a lot these days, that's why it's nice to have positive vibes from others!
DeleteDear Kay, it's all so exciting! I'm happy for all your son. And thank you for sharing--we need happy stories. They make us grateful.
ReplyDeleteAs to your earlier posting on dancing, I have a large kitchen==I mean large!!!!==with a round oak table the middle of it and often and play a CD of Tony Bennett or Michael Buble singing and I just dance and skip and waltz and twirl and kick up my heels! Peace.
How lucky you are to have that large kitchen! I have a galley type kitchen, so I just march up and down that area as I listen to music. And of course, I listen to my son's music also. And remember, you can exercise to C's music too!!
DeleteTHANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION! PEACE.
Delete❤
DeleteThat was exciting for your son, for sure! I will listen to his music next time I am riding my exercycle. Music helps keep me going!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Oh yes, Ellen, please do! That would make me so very happy to know that you will! Stay healthy! Take care! xx
DeleteGreat!
ReplyDeleteStay safe.

DeleteThat is good news.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well.
All the best Jan
You too, Jan! Take care.
DeleteThat is SO very cool!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nan! I know you know who Roger McGuinn is!!😊
DeleteYes! I certainly do think that is wonderful about Christopher and The Byrds! What a thrill for you...that is great, Kay. :)
ReplyDeleteTake good care...keep dancing, singing, smiling and laughing! :)
Thanks, Lee! And you do the same in Australia!
DeleteOh wow! That is an awesome testimonial. You must be prouder than proud. Congratulations! I'm so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteWe were well chuffed, as they say in England!
DeleteAwesome, Kay! Make that t-shirt! I'm listening to "Heart of Gold" right now. It has long been one of my favorites. Chris has a wonderful voice. I'm going to listen to all his recordings as I catch up on visiting tonight. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you! Thank you for listening to C. sing! You are a doll. xx
