Full Moon (Who Knows Where The Time Goes)

Hello! How are y'all doing these days! Goodness me, I always want to type a post but at the end of the day, I am just tuckered OUT!

January is just marching on by...time for the first full moon in 2021.

It is called the "wolf" moon, according to the old Farmer's Almanac. Apparently, wolves would howl outside villages in early times in America. (Not sure if it was called this by Native Americans or by the early Colonists.) Now, this is just what I have read, it could be called this all over the world for all I know! (Insert rueful smile, here.)
I have only seen and heard wolves in films, myself! (It seems that I remember reading that in the 1982 film "The Thing" that the animal used in the movie was half dog/half wolf.  If you haven't seen that movie, you really should! It's very well done and you must be a big Kurt Russell fan! You know I am!)

Last month, I took a walk before sunset and I was able to see the sun set and then to see the moon rise. Those are the photos you see above!
Time for a song now...

So, any of you gotten the vaccine yet?  I am not in the age category yet...you know, since I am such a young woman in my early 30's.
 HA HA!
(It is true I am not in the age category but I will keep it to myself how CLOSE I am to it.)
Keep encouraging each other, it is important these days. I believe more important than ever.
Take care!

  1. Canada lags far behind Britain and the USA in having vaccines available. I expect to get my shot by the Fall, or maybe even in the Summer, if I'm lucky?

    1. If I am lucky, they might open up for me by this time next year!
Oh well, I will keep wearing my mask even when I do get the vaccine. Not only for my health but I feel so much prettier! LOL!

  2. The vaccine campaign is a desaster here in Germany - organisation, logistics, supplies; nothing works as it should, and people are getting angrier by the minute.
My parents would be entitled for their jabs, but they wisely stay put and wait until things get running a bit more smoothly. I suspect it will be late summer or autumn before the likes of me can even think of making an appointment!

I have seen wolves in wildlife parks, for instance in the Bavarian Forest during a hiking holiday with O.K. in 2018. They are so shy and much prefer each other's company than ours, it is amazing they were ever seen as such a threat to humans.

    1. It is a disaster in the USA also. AND we are number ONE in the world for Covid 19! NOT a time you want to be number one.
Don't know if you saw that wolf moon but it really was lovely.

  3. I had not noticed, the first full moon of 2021. Your two photos are great. Australia has not started vaccinating yet, but they are certainly getting organised. I will get it when the opportunity arrives, maybe March/April.

    1. Australia will have it better organized than they have it here.
In the USA, it is up to each state. Georgia has a bad track record for well...everything really, so the vaccine program will be lagging behind all other states!
Hope you saw the moon, it was really something. x

  4. CCR Much better than your usual music.
I often howl at the moon, unless I fall off the roof.

  5. Just like the sun, the moon keeps on rolling around the heavens like it had nothing else to do. Days come and go so fast, we really do have to take time to enjoy each one.ANothing is as important as today. Great pictures of the full moon. It is usually cloud covered here and I rarely get to see it. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Oh! You have mentioned one of my favorite songs! In fact, if you click on the side where I have the featured post, that song is still on there!! We also have had so much rain, so that lovely moon was really special here too!

  6. I have seen that movie a few times! And Kurt Russell is still a cutie and has been since Mouseketeer days!

  7. Love CCR! They never made a bad song. Neither did the Everly Brothers. Not many groups fall into that category for me.

    1. I meant to say, I don't hear wolves but coyotes abound around me and I'm comforted to know all is right in their world.

    2. We also have coyotes here in Georgia but I have never seen one of those either!
Jill, it was so good to see your comment here! Sorry, it has taken me ages to reply to my comments!! TAke care!!

  9. Jack and I are on the list for 65 and older after February 8th. We'll see how it goes! I love your moon shots. It's been so cloudy I would be hard pressed to get a shot of this full moon. Never can get one even when it's not cloudy! We've had a few rough months starting in March of 2020...hopefully things will get better soon!

  10. I got the first dose of vaccine it was easy with no side effects. I got it because I work with the handicapped. Love the moon pictures, I have never heard a wolf either but I have heard coyotes a lot. There is a farm down the road from us and they get them come around in the spring when the baby cows are born.

  11. Yes, it is called a Wolf moon here for exactly the same reason. Yes, I have had my first jab a couple of weeks ago. I had no ill effects whatsoever. I got it because I'm old!😂

  12. I first heard wolves in Northern Ontario in Lansdowne House. I'll never forget walking on the ice under the glow of northern lights in the night sky and hearing wolfs howl. Primal, amazing, Kay! I did get my first shot on the 28th ~ I lucked out and was among 11,000 chosen in a lottery of over 300,000 eligible participants. The process was smooth and the needle painless. I have had a response which I'm still feeling ~ like a case of respiratory flu with all its pesky symptoms. But it is nothing compared to the thought of getting Covid! I can't wait to get the second shot! I am quite certain getting the virus would have killed me. Terry won't be eligible for the lottery until February 8th. Fingers crossed that everyone can get the vaccination quickly!
