August of 2011...from My Dad, of course,
from that month.
I sure do miss him.
Thank you to all who have taken the time to read my words, I truly appreciate every one of you. This year has been a bit difficult for me to blog and that is bad for me because I really do like to write.
I write constantly! I had to sort through some papers recently, both at home and at work...you have no idea how much this turned out to be! I jot down quotes and lyrics from songs and then, it makes me think of other things and I write and write and write....
Guess I don't have to tell you all that! Anyway, thanks very much for sticking with me, my friends. Not only do I like to write but I like to read too and I have so much enjoyed learning the stories from so many of my blogging friends, from the USA and from around the world!
I get by with a little help from my friends.
Kay, I remember the wonderful produce your father raised in his gardening. I know you miss him. I miss my folks so much. No matter our age we still want parents. My gosh you sound like me. I have snippets of papers here and there with little saying, quotes, prayers everywhere. I hope you keep blogging, I like to visit . Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWe can't help it, we are just writers, we might as well face up to it!
DeleteThanks very much for you kind words, it is always so nice to see your comment and to get blessings from you! I wish you the same. xxx
The picture is definitely a picture I see from your father. Makes my mouth water. Happy Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I so much appreciated all that he gave me in my life, very grateful.
DeleteHappy Blogaversary!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thank you, Janie Junebug! I have told you that your blogging name makes me smile because my Dad was called JUNEBUG! xx
DeleteThat's so nice. I became Junebug because some co-workers said I was like June Cleaver and would clean my house wearing a dress and pearls. June turned into Junebug.
DeleteMy Dad was a Junior, so all his family called him Junebug. I loved June Cleaver, she was so pretty! I hope you remember same actress in the Airplane film! She was so funny!!😄
DeleteHappy Blogaversary! What a lovely photo and I am always enjoying my visit here. Thank you and wishing you many more blogging years.. HUGS
ReplyDeleteThank you very much and I am sending HUGS to you also!
DeleteWell done you!
ReplyDeleteKeep on blogging!
Thank you, Ad-Man! And the same for you too!
DeleteHappy blogversary, Kay! Always enjoy stopping by and hearing about what you've been up to. Take care. I know you miss your Dad. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHey Kay! So lovely to see your comment here! And I thank you very much. Love to you always!
DeleteI'm sure you do miss your Dad and his garden. That picture of all the produce says it well. Congrats on your anniversary of blogging. You have done a great job of keeping in touch even with all the hardships of the year.
ReplyDeleteI have tried to blog but at the end of my long days, sometimes my brain just does not want to function! It's true that this year has been tough at times but I know my Dad would want me keep writing, he knew how much I loved it. xx
DeleteHappy Blogging Day on the 21st! Your blogs and thoughts are always interesting and fun to read.
ReplyDeleteInteresting and fun to read! That is such a sweet thing to say, thank you! xx
DeleteDear Kay, Happy Blogaversary! I love reading the words you write. You have a real talent at words, and life. I am sorry this year has been so difficult for you. Your Dad was such a special person, so generous and giving.
ReplyDeleteIf you notice the canned goods in that photo...he grew those vegetables himself and then, canned them also. He never sold any of it, just gave it away. Thank you for your kind words!
DeleteHappy 8th Blogoversary! Wishing you many, many more!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, my friend! Let's keep blogging, no matter what, what do you say? Do we have a deal? :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary. Keep Writing... if only I could write as well.
ReplyDeleteOh Ed! Thank you! You are too kind!
DeleteNow, if only I could take photos like you!
Happy Blogoversary.
ReplyDeleteLove that song from Joe Cocker.
All the best Jan
PS Happy September wishes
Thanks, Jan! Did you notice that was Phil Collins on drums and Brian May from Queen on guitar? Love that too! Happy September wishes to you too!
DeleteHappy Blogaversary! I'm so sorry for your loss, Kay. I'm so happy to have you as a blogging friend. I've been away too, but I'm back again finally. It's been a hectic summer.
ReplyDeleteHey Kay! Glad to have you back! I love your blog! I always think of you and Art and your Mom holding that sunlight in your hands, that photo is the first thing that comes to my mind when I see your name! xxx
DeleteHappy Blogging Birthday, Kay!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lee! (My lemon tree that I named after you...it lost all its leaves except ONE and I thought it was a goner...guess what, it has come back and is lush and green!)
DeleteDon't forget to fertilise it at the beginning of spring. Which reminds me....our spring down here has just begun...and I've not yet fertilised mine. I have to go to the supermarket this morning...so that will be added to my list! I'm glad I paid a visit to your blog this morning, Kay!! Thanks... :)
DeleteYour lemon tree will bounce back...with the name of "Lee"...how could it not? :)
You have reminded me of my Dad. Whenever I would ask for gardening advice, he would say, "Fertilize, fertilize, fertilize!". Those three words said with conviction. He really did have a perfect way to make you remember his advice.
DeleteI will have to let you know next year if I get Lee gives us any lovely lemons! xx
And, of course, I forgot the fertiliser when I was at the supermarket! I must start reading my shopping list and not just carry it in my hand!!!!!!! :)
DeleteTee hee...we must be very similar! :-)
DeleteBelated Happy Blogoversary, dear Kay!
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I like your blog - there is always something of interest, something for me to learn, be it about your own life or about a musician, writer, other artist, or nature.
I can only imagine how much you must be missing your Dad. So nice though to have "known" him a bit through your blog.
Hey MEIKE! Thank YOU! (You know you have a special place in my heart for MAKING me do this blog in the first place!!)
DeleteAnd I am very grateful for your kind words about my Dad and the fact that you took the time to write such a moving tribute on his obituary page, well, that was just so special, I can't thank you enough. God bless you! Hope you are doing well and looking forward to a lovely autumn. xx
You have been blogging for 8 years? Congratulations, Kay!
ReplyDeleteI know, where do the years go? Thank you!
DeleteHappy anniversary, Kay - huge achievement. Make sure you keep writing. I love your posts, even if I can't visit as often as I'd like; and you invariably end up with a great piece of music!
ReplyDeleteI think I am just here for music and flowers...that is the main thing for me! Thanks very much, I am always thrilled when great writers like yourself have such kind words about my writing! And look at those who have left comments before yours, they are also all excellent writers! I am so lucky to have such great friends in the blogging world. Thank you!
