My head has been all over the place lately. So, I have a few quotes and thoughts for you...these are just bits that I have written down, that I liked and wanted to share.
"No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever." Francois Mauriac
"There are times when encouragement means such a lot. And a word is enough to convey it." Grace Stricker Dawson
"Fix your thoughts on what is true and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others." Phil: 4:8 TLB
Now, here are some bits of news that I found interesting....
Did any of you see the story about the hamburger flipping robot? It made me think...I wondered if anyone thought to make a sign to go on the robot's back that would say, "Don't hate me 'cause I'm not human!" Hey, just wondering!
Okay, what about the story of the couple who found a bottle washed up on the beach in Australia and there was a message in the bottle and it was from...wait for it...1886! It is believed to be the world's oldest message in a bottle. (Are any of you singing the song by Sting? Quick, let's get out of here before Sting brings out his lute! Ha, ha...I think I stole that from Ab FAB!)
Let's see...in other news, there was a cheese festival in Brighton in England, and they ran out of cheese! Oh please, Louise, no cheese!
I am not making this stuff up...it is all on the BBC!
In case anyone is wondering about the title of this post...when you order hash browns at The Waffle House, if you ask for them to be scattered, smothered and covered...it just means that the potatoes are spread on the grill, smothered in onions and covered in cheese. Because, I mean...why not?
It won't be long until we see blooms like this again. This was from a few years ago. Presto! I am two years younger! I love it!
Take care everyone! And if you find that your thoughts are scattered, just smother them with onions and cover them with cheese!
And for the music for today...I think ELVIS and again, why not?
Yes, the 1886 message in the bottle made the news here tonight! Amazing that it survived all those decades in the ocean, was ultimately found by someone, and was still legible when opened!
ReplyDeleteThose Aussies, they put the rolled up piece of paper into a warm oven! My luck, I would have burned it up and never would have known what I had found. Amazing story.
DeleteAll of these pieces of news are indeed "news" to me, Kay - and of course now I have the song "Message in a Bottle" in my head...
ReplyDeleteI so agree with the quote from the Bible.
I knew that people would sing that song!
DeleteThink about things that are pure and lovely and dwell on the fine, good things...I need to remember that!
Have more scattered thoughts, their good.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I will try!
DeleteUtterly delightful post to make me smile this morning!
ReplyDeleteHey Nan! Oh, I am tickled that you liked this, my friend!
DeleteStay warm and dry up there in Maine!
I love your attitude ! Smother and covered ! March winds are scattering the cobwebs of my mind.
ReplyDeleteThanks, MA! It was so blowy today, the traffic lights were upended and you would have to wait until they settled down to see if the light had changed. That's windy!
DeleteWow, a message all the way from 1886! That is amazing. I hadn't heard that, so I've learned something new on your blog :)
ReplyDeleteIt sometimes takes a day or so to see the news on the American TV shows that I have already read on the BBC.
DeleteHey, BBC, give me money for loving you! LOL!
Lovely photo of you in front of that colorful hedge.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Tried my best to camouflage myself with my pink jacket next to the pink blooms! HA! The pink jacket is from England, it is lined with terry cloth and was made in England, wonder if they make them like that anymore?
DeleteI think that robots might take over. lol
ReplyDeleteHa, ha...they will probably be as shiftless as the youngsters, just standing around texting each other, making fun of HUMANS, what do you bet? LOL!
DeleteI read about all but the cheese festival running out of cheese. England was where KFC ran out of chicken. They fixed the problem and a few days later ran out of gravy. Life is amazing and funny. And now I have Message In A Bottle stuck in my brain!
ReplyDeleteLet me tell you, I wouldn't be upset about the KFC but the cheese is SO GOOD in England, if they ran out, I would be very upset!!
DeleteWhat a great post! I was smiling through the whole thing. I often feel scattered, smothered and covered!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha...Sandy, you better be careful, you are seeing how my mind works! Hey, I am STILL going to do that post where I link to you...doggone it, I am telling you my mind really is all over the place!
DeleteI love all your scattered thoughts, Kay.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend!
