Peace and love. Peace and love. Peace and love. All around the entire world!
(Supposed to post this at noon at my local time. Let's pretend I am further west and on a different time zone!)
Ringo Starr (real name, Richard Starkey) is 77 today! Happy Birthday to him! (You know I love him, right?) Ah, those Liverpool lads will always be in my heart!
Our son loves the Beatles too! Look at this photo of him from a few years ago...is it just me or does his beard remind you of Ringo?
Yeah, yeah, yeah... Peace and love, Ringo - and everyone, even the bampots (or maybe specially the bampots). Nice one, Kay :-)
ReplyDeleteUh, not sure about bampots...does that mean the people who voted for Brexit? Not sure, let me know!
DeletePeace and love to everyone!
It's always noon somewhere! Peace and love!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha...that reminds me of the song "It's Five O'clock Somewhere"! But then, you know everything reminds ME of a song!
DeleteRingo is still just too cool, and yes, your son looks way cool, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks! My son would be pleased to think that someone thinks of him as being cool!
DeleteRingo is 77? Say it isn't so!! Oh well, yes, he was the oldest one I think. He was a cute little guy back in the 60s. Not that I remember of course ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, he was the oldest and thinking about it, he was really the poorest one. Not that he has to worry about money now! LOL!
DeleteAnd no, I am sure you were just a baby in the 60's!!
Great picture of a great son! Peace and love can't be beat for sure !
ReplyDeleteThanks, MA!
DeleteMy favorite Ringo quote is from the cartoon movie Yellow Submarine. "I've got a hole in me pocket" Then he pulls out a hole.
ReplyDeleteI think Ringo is the one who said "It's been a hard day's night" when the group was leaving a long recording session...and we know that inspired a song!
DeleteHi, Kay! Love the photos of you and Chris ~ Love Ringo too! Say it isn't true? How can he be 77?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Louise! 77, gulp...that time went quickly!
DeleteHe was good in 'That'll be the day' (film) and comes over well and down to earth in the documentary Good Ol' Freda, about the Beatles 1960s fan club secretary, which you would like if it's ever shown there.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of that film but of course, it has not been shown here yet. Give it a few years and we might get to see it! You know I will like it!
DeleteYour son was totally going for the Ringo look there, and he did a fine job with it. A happy belated birthday to the man himself indeed. He actually released another album on his birthday. That's the kind of man Ringo Starr is; it was his birthday, but we were the ones getting the present.
ReplyDeleteOur son is half English and since he looks a lot like his English grandfather, it was easier for him than others! I did see that Ringo had released an album on his birthday! We WERE the ones getting the present! Good on ya, Ringo!
DeleteMy ex was/is a far bigger fan of The Beatles than I am, but we did have all of their LPs in our vast and varied music collection.
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt they started a revolution in the music world when they hit the scene in the Sixties. Great music and artists from that era...and the music lives on and, no doubt, will for decades more.
What was it like in Australia, I wonder? I only know how exciting the Beatles were for America, it was like a light coming on in the world for me, that is the only way I can describe it.
DeleteIt was similar here in Australia, Kay. Madness reigned supreme when it came to The Beatles. It was no different here to elsewhere. :)
DeleteMy ex and I did see Paul McCartney and Wings live in concert in the late 70s.
He does look a little like Ringo there. I do love The Beatles.
ReplyDelete"Ladies and Gentlemen...THE BEATLES!"
DeleteI will never forget the first time I saw them on The Ed Sullivan Show!
Didn't really notice how much C's beard looked like Ringo's until I did this post! LOL!
And the 50th anniversary of the summer of Love......
ReplyDeleteReally? Fifty years? Ah, I am old...But I have internet again. We had a scary lightening strike in our front yard yesterday. Afterwards, half the house had no power, a standing make up mirror was thrown down from the bathroom windowsill and broken, and internet was gone. We spent until after 11pm last night trying to fix it, to no avail, but my son fixed it this morning. I missed reading the blogs I love!
WE have had crazy storms also, but mostly they go around my little neighborhood and we get the scary winds and lightening but no rain!
DeleteYours sounds scary! Glad you got your internet back!
