"Murder In Paradise" is a TV show that my husband and I both enjoy and one of the main reasons is for the gorgeous scenery. Filmed on the fictional island of St. Marie it is really the lovely Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. The theme music is a tune that I had never heard before (and they didn't list it in the credits so I couldn't look it up!)
However, in the last episode that I saw, the music playing in the background at the end of the show was the same as the theme music! The song is "You're Wondering Now". Many artists have redone this song over the years but it pleased me that they chose to use the original ska version by Andy and Joey from 1961 at the end of that particular show.
He is, they are all brothers! They have one other brother who is a conservationist and two sisters, both film makers.
Here, I have the theme music for you from "Murder In Paradise"
(I will miss the very tall Kris Marshall who has left the show but I know I will also like Ardal O'Hanlon, an Irish comedian/actor that I remember from "Father Ted" and "My Hero".)
No tropical beaches for me but I do know someone who has a nice pool!
I've never heard of the show but the theme music is great! Love that pool! My brother who moved to McDonough last year has a lovely pool that I hope to be able to visit one day! Have a nice Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteHey Yaya! My sister-in-law will be a grandmother soon, and she wants to be called YAYA! You know I love that!
DeleteWhen you get to McDonough, promise me you will email in advance, he is very close to me, I would love to meet up with you!
And I forgot to say, that is my brother's pool too!
DeleteI promise I'll do that!
DeleteI am not familiar with this program. I'll have to see if I can find it.
ReplyDeleteIt is on the PBS channel. It comes on Friday at 8pm here in Georgia.
DeleteIt's hard to go wrong with the scenery when you film in a tropical paradise, isn't it? They have great taste in music, too.
ReplyDeleteWe pause it sometimes just to look at the pretty views!
DeleteI always notice the music for the theme tunes and also how they do the music during TV shows and movies. Music is something I always notice@
Once or twice, I have watched "Murder in Paradise" when I happened to come across it on telly. But this was German telly, and sometimes the dubbing takes away some of the quality of a show or a movie.
ReplyDeleteLovely pool - so inviting!
The characters are very likeable but like "Midsomer Murders", the plots are hardly believable! Never mind, we like it anyway.
DeleteWouldn't you love to dive into that pool? :-)
Ardal O' Hanlon is a great actor so it's good to know he's still going and finding work. I'm glad you were able to discover the song. It's one of the most satisfying things there is.
ReplyDeleteI really loved him as the alien in "My Hero", I thought that was so funny! And you know what a nut I am about searching things about music. I do find it satisfying though!
DeletePools are wonderful and a tropical paradise would be nice. Hope you've had a nice 3 day weekend to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Alas, I had to work today! :-)
DeleteFunnily enough I just watched that show a couple of nights ago for the first time and really enjoyed it. I was going to watch The Durrells but nothing interesting ever happens in that show apart from great scenery. I preferred his animal catching books like Three Singles to Adventure which I've still got from the 1970s. Really funny accounts of capturing the native wildlife for Zoos although not PC now. I'll be watching Murder in Paradise from now on.
ReplyDeleteWe had that show "The Durrells" also. Even the scenery couldn't make me watch much of it! I usually like to watch shows based on real people too!
DeleteI've enjoyed watching the series "Murder in Paradise"...it's light-hearted fun...and as you say, the scenery is great...and is what drew me to the show in the first instance.
ReplyDeleteThe Fiennes certainly do have an interesting bloodline....
"Ralph Fiennes was born in Ipswich, on 22 December 1962. He is the eldest child of Mark Fiennes (1933–2004), a farmer and photographer, and Jennifer Lash (1938–1993), a writer. He has English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry. His surname is of Norman origin. His grandfathers were industrialist Sir Maurice Fiennes (1907–1994) and Brigadier Henry Alleyne Lash (1901–1975). His great-great-uncle was Edward Pomeroy Colley, a Civil Engineer and first class passenger who died in the sinking of RMS Titanic.
Fiennes is an eighth cousin of Charles, Prince of Wales, and a third cousin of adventurer Ranulph Fiennes and author William Fiennes. He is the eldest of six children. His siblings are actor Joseph Fiennes; Martha Fiennes, a director (in her film Onegin, he played the title role); Magnus Fiennes, a composer; Sophie Fiennes, a filmmaker; and Jacob Fiennes, a conservationist. His foster brother, Michael Emery, is an archaeologist. His nephew Hero Fiennes-Tiffin played Tom Riddle, young Lord Voldemort, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
Yes, I saw this about them but doggone if I could remember what the foster brother did so I am glad you have this on here! Just in the case Michael Emery reads my blog, he won't be mad cause I left him out. And you gotta love the name Hero Fiennes-Tiffin! :-)
DeleteI agree with you Kay. It is a lovely programme. It's easy on the eye and on the brain.
ReplyDeleteYes, Graham, I am afraid I am in need of easy on the eye and the brain these days!
DeleteI've been watching this for years, since it first came out and our PBS station carried it. Now it is on Netflix. So much fun to watch. It takes us to a lovely place to be for a while.
ReplyDeleteWe watch it on PBS, we are on the 3rd inspector now!
DeleteIt as fun, Kay, to read this post about Murder in Paradise as I started watching it a couple of years ago on Netflix and continued when Kris Marshall took over. I read too that he had left the show and will look forward to seeing the "new" inspector. Have you also ever watched The Murdoch Mysteries (Canadian) which is on Acorn streaming or Miss Fisher's vMurder Mysteries (Australian) which I watched von Netflix? I have previously watched Midsommer Murders and it always fascinated me how many people died in those small towns.
ReplyDeleteHey!
DeleteYes, I have watched Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries but I have not seen the Murdoch Mysteries. Perhaps, they didn't show that particular one here in Atlanta? I only get to the see the shows if they show them on PBS here!
We were able to borrow some DVD's from our local library with a show called "Murder City" with Kris Marshall, and I really liked those too! Maybe you could watch that on Netflix too? Check it out, you will it.
Oh, AND "The Last Detective"...I need to do a post about that one, it is just right up my alley!
I love that show! Even with all the cast changes, I love every episode. Such color! And I love Catherine and Florence's clothes!!
ReplyDeleteHey Nan! I knew you would love it too! I also love their clothes! And have you noticed how they pronounce "Florence"? It is "Flor-ONS". I love French!
