We walked at Panola Mountain recently and Richard took a photo of the early morning light falling upon the trail. This captured the magical feel of that moment perfectly!
======================================
My friends, once again I have not had much time on the computer! It has been very difficult meeting with all these record companies wanting to record my great singing voice! Okay now, you know I am kidding! I have been so busy at work that it has been a bit hard for me to type anymore when I get home at night.
Hope you are doing well and I hope you have noticed that Great Britain is third in the medal count behind USA and China! There have been some interesting stories from these Olympics, wish I could have had more time to view them!
I won't ever win a gold medal but I feel as if I have when I spot the very first yellow daisy blooming at Arabia Mountain!
Richards foto of the light is a real winner!
ReplyDeleteYou know I think so, he was able to capture it perfectly.
DeleteThe photos are fantastic - and I know how difficult it is to capture a mass of flowers on camera, especially blue ones. So many times I've come across wonderful patches of forgetmenots and took a picture, only to be disappointed at the result. With our eyes, they look so much better usually. But Richard managed to do them justice, and that "magical" morning light in the woods is heart-tuggingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Meike! It is very hard to capture photos of blue flowers! I am pleased to tell you that I took the first photo here and also the last one, the yellow daisy. xx
DeleteHow beautiful are those little blue flowers, a very delicate colour. A florist once told me blue flowers are the rarest in nature, and since then I have always been attracted to them!
ReplyDeleteI truly love all flowers but when I saw the bluebells for the very first time in England, oh be still my heart! I have seen them only the one time, that is the photo that I have on the side of my blog!
DeleteI applaud your efforts to get out and hike in the heat of summer. The sights are wonderful to be sure. I no longer work but can relate as I did for many many years. There were times that I didn't want to touch a computer after working on one all day.
ReplyDeleteIt has been so hot that we can't really walk unless we are able to go very early in the morning! Frustrating that I have to use up all my energy at work! LOL.
DeleteThat light is magical, and those flowers so pretty!
ReplyDeleteGlad you think so too!
DeleteYour hiking photos are lovely. We also did a mountain hike this summer.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog header. It is different than the one I saw last week. isn't it? I like that idea of changing the header photo. I think I might start using photos and changing them weekly for my blog.
We try to walk on our trails here as much as possible, a bit hard this summer!
DeleteOh yes, I very often change my header photo, usually to go with a post that I have just done. That photo is from August of last year, from Stone Mountain when the Yellow Daisies had just started blooming!
Beautiful flowers and photos! I'm going to have to visit Arabia Mountain. I love all your posts about it.
ReplyDeleteYes, you should see it! Stone Mountain is more well known, of course and is much larger. Both deserve a visit.
DeleteGreat photos and I love the one you've picked for your new header photo too!
ReplyDeleteHa! I have made myself one year younger! That was from last August and it is from Stone Mountain, you can see the yellow daisies blooming!
DeleteI have read about the blue day flowers. They certainly are pretty. The stories from the Olympics just keep on coming. Today I read that some of our swimmers were robbed at gunpoint.
ReplyDeleteYes, and wasn't it strange how the news reported it...they "said" they were robbed. Gee, don't you BELIEVE them? Glad they were not injured but sure do wish that had not happened to them.
DeleteWhat wonderful photos! I love blue flowers (and have never imagined I was the only one!) and you, or Richard, took such great pictures of them with the breathtaking blue sky above!
ReplyDeleteOh my yes, the clouds were just amazing! Walking on the stone, flowers to your side and the beautiful clouds above you, there is beauty all around you!
DeleteBeautiful flowers and I'm glad you could see them since they don't last too long. Richard's photo is lovely..it has a spiritual quality to it as if God is sending a message down from Heaven.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, the light was heavenly. I was just very surprised when I saw this photo, I would never had thought he could have gotten just the way it looked in reality.
DeletePretty! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'll sign you up to a record deal, Kay! That'd be some record...equal to all those broken at the Olympics!
Wait, I just bet you COULD work out a record deal for me! Let me know! :-)
DeleteThat's a beautiful photo of the morning light. And beautiful blue flowers, too. I'll have to visit those spots sometime.
ReplyDeleteYou really are not that far away! Look up Arabia Mountain and try to go on a nature hike with Ranger Robby! You might just see me there too! :-)
DeleteThat is a really beautiful flower. It's a shame it only blooms for a day but I suppose that does make it more mystical and incredible, not to mention more incredible that you got to see it. It's a sight to behold and a story to be told.
ReplyDeleteWe took a photo of these same flowers just 1 1/2 hours later and they were already in a serious wilt. I think it does make you enjoy them all the more!
DeleteI love the blue flowers and Richard's atmospheric one.
ReplyDeleteThank you, John! And I didn't tell you but they had rain at Arabia and the pools on the top were full and I sat next to them and enjoyed the dragonflies flying about and seeing the tadpoles in the water! You would have loved it! x
Deleteoh, very pretty. I'm glad my camera gets me out and taught me how to enjoy what's around me.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy what's around you, that is just right! Why, I have taken photos of the flower petals in the parking lot at Publix and you would have thought I was in an expensive garden!
DeleteHey, nice to see your comment here, by the way! :-)
The bluebells in Castle Grounds were pretty this year but it is such a shame that they are gone all too soon. I do so love "our" walks up Stone Mountain and Arabia and Panola Mountains. Keep walking the walks!
ReplyDeleteHey Pat!
DeleteHow are you doing? Hope you have been having a good summer!
That photo of myself on the side of my blog, where I am so happily posing with the bluebells, that was taken in Arlington, in East Sussex, have you ever been there? It was beautiful!
I am very happy to share our walks with you, Pat! You are welcome anytime, my mountain climbing friend! xx
Always wonderful to look at the myriad shapes and colours of flowers. I saw a lovely book the other day about seeds and these also have such variety, even though we look so much less at seeds. Arabia Mountain looks to be such a great place, no wonder you like to walk there and see all the changes throughout the year.

ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you mentioned seeds. My Dad gave me two seeds that the owner of the local hardware store had given him. They were very large. I planted both of them, only one came up but it is like the story of "Jack and The Beanstalk"! It is growing to the sky!
DeleteWe have no idea what it is but I can see where the story idea came from..."Fee Fi Fo Fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman!"! Ha! You know I said that the first time that Richard cut his finger! I am so funny! :-)
I love blue flowers. That yellow one is pretty, too.
ReplyDeleteI love flowers and I know you have gorgeous ones in Hawaii! Aloha!
DeleteSimply wonderful shots, Kay. Love that wildflower - never seen anything like it before. And, late to the party as I so often am, GB is currently 2nd in the medal table. This is unheard of! It's kind of sad that many seem to be suggesting that there may be something underhand about this success. So far as most of us are concerned, it makes a pleasant change to be doing so well and we're dead proud of all the wonderful young people who work so hard to compete, win or lose. Personality of the Games has to be Usain Bolt, though - what a character, as well as being a superb athlete.
ReplyDeleteThere are some wonderful stories of the young people involved in the Olympics! Too bad that sometimes the one negative story is the one that gets all the coverage.
DeleteI might have to do a post about the games this year, if i can just get my brain to function properly, I will do so!
Oh and you would love Arabia Mountain with the wildflowers, most people hardly notice them.
