Super Bowl! So happy that I watched it this year! Very often, I will miss it...they can sometimes be very one sided and not very exciting to watch. I called my Dad and told him I didn't think I would see it and he paused and said, "Well...hardly anyone is saying for sure who will win, so chances are, it will be a good game.". One thing you should know about me...if my Dad even HINTS at something I should do, I am THERE, if you see what I mean! The New England Patriots won 28-24 in a great come from behind victory. The win was sealed by an interception at the goal line with just 20 seconds left in the game! You have GOT to love that! (Unless you were cheering for the Seattle Seahawks, that is.)
I also called my Dad during the half-time and just muted the sound, so even though I didn't HEAR it, I still saw the Golden Idol...I mean big gold Tiger and the strange dancing sharks. I know that the whole world loves that kind of thing but I feel like the young boy from the story "The Emperor's New Clothes"...I just DON'T see it!
Oh! And I just went back and watched the video and at the word "brotherhood", you are shown Number 24 on the Patriots...and that is the player who made the interception at the goal line that I told you about...his name is Malcolm Butler and many called him the hero of the game!
You know if you are celebrating, then make brownies! (Boston) And if you are sad, then make more brownies! (Seattle) It works for me. Brownies from sea to shining sea. Sweet!
I have found the easiest Brownie recipe that uses cocoa! Anybody want the recipe?
Okay, now you all know that I am a bit of a sports nut! And that I think brownies are perfect for any occasion!
I, also, loved hearing John Legend sing. And oh my, I would love one of your brownies. But, if I took one bite, I would eat the whole bunch.....not all at once. Trying to cut out sugar.
ReplyDeleteI went to a Superbowl dinner party last night where everyone was a Seahawks fan. Needless to say I knew how they felt since I lived in Chicago for 35 years and rooted for the Cubbies. The phrase we often used was, "There's always next year."
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have never watched the Super Bowl (and in all likelihood never will), I agree with you 100 % on brownies being perfect for any occasion :-)
ReplyDeleteBrownies look good. I'm watching with you next year!
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the game. Usually I'll turn it on at halftime to see the show but didn't even do that this year as snow shoveling had priority here. Brownies are good anytime. Hope you share the recipe.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of football, (baseball for me) but I'll take brownies for any reason and occasion.
ReplyDeleteWell, David was happy and I was not.
ReplyDeleteBrownies sound good.
I didn't watch the game but I did see the play that won it over and over again on the news and sports! I made SB snacks though...and now you have me wanting to make some brownies! Just might have to do that today..it's very cold outside even though the sun will be shining. Brownies and sun..a good combo! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI understand that everyone now loves those dancing sharks!
ReplyDeleteHi Kay, it's funny you mentioned that because John Legend's song was my favorite part too. I was in a different room sorting out a scuttle between some kids. But then I heard the song and literally ran into the den to catch it. Love, love, love John Legend! I didn't watch one second of the football. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteEasy brownie recipes are welcome, i have teen and early 20's boys to feed!
ReplyDeleteI am in Washington so the game was exciting and sad. But I'm over it.
ReplyDeleteYes!! I would love to see the recipe! They look so good.
ReplyDeleteI watched the game as I always do...I was cheering for Seattle because years ago when I was managing the resort on Hinchinbrook Island I had a lovely young fellow from Bellingham work for me for while.
