Having a blog is like having a bridge to other people and other places, and I am grateful for the people and places that I have visited since I began writing my posts. I hope you have enjoyed my husband's photos! I am grateful that this blog has brought forward another one of Richard's many talents and I am thankful that so many of you have commented on his efforts.
I think that perhaps a giveaway might be in order. Please, leave a comment here and tell me your FAVORITE photo from this blog and sometime next week, I will put all the names in a hat and draw forth the winner! The prize will be an Amazon Gift Certificate in the amount of $21.00. Ha! I bet you're glad I didn't start this on August 1st!
That might sound as if I am showing off to ask you what your favorite photo might be, but it really isn't since I am sure that the photo that you will choose will be one by my husband, Richard. I only pick the best ones for you and they happen to be Richard's!
Thanks again, I love your comments and emails, they truly make my day. xx
Happy 2nd Blogaversary, Kay! I'm so glad you've joined us. Ummmm... choosing the favorite photo is much too difficult. I was liking the July 19th sunflowers (the field and that last one). Then there were all those gorgeous yellows on June 27th. However, I think I really like the one on July 3rd with the silhouette of your son on Arabia Mountains. So I'll pick that one.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kay!
DeleteOh, I love that you chose the one of C. touching the tree on Arabia Mountain!
You know I LOVE your blog and my favorite photo of YOURS is the one where you are holding the sunshine in your hands! Thanks for having that on the side of your blog where I can see it! :-)
Happy 2nd Blogoversary and many more! I enjoy seeing all the photos you post but my faves are from when you visit England. I didn't know that your husband is the Official Photographer of the GGWAEH Blog -- that's super!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra! Our favorites are when we visit England too!
DeleteGGWAEH...ha, that sound like a sound that a cat makes!
I love your posts and photos with them when you tell us something of the history of the places in Canada, I thought your War of 1812 posts should be in a newspaper or magazine!
(And your funny ones make me giggle!)
Happy 2 years, Kay. I have to say that the photos here are always great but I really loved the photos the other day of the brown thrashers-especially the one of the two on the ground. Those are amazing photos. That being said, don't put my name in the drawing. I have won several giveaways this year and I would really like to have someone else enjoy the win. Blessings- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana!
DeleteYou know my favorite posts and photos that you have? That's easy, anything to do with "Sweet Cheeks", what a star!
Happy Blogversary! I think I like the stained glass photo from your December 2011 post, it's just stunning!
ReplyDeleteMary
Oh, thank you, I really love that you like the stained glass photo, it is from the Monastery and the monks made that stained glass and it's easy to take a photo of it, since it is truly stunning!
DeleteI think you take great photos of food! Having said that, I really liked your post recently where you got that Bundt cake pan, so happy it is in your home where it can be used and enjoyed!
Happy Blogiversary. I can't believe it's only two years. I seem to have know you for a lifetime. You must have been commenting for a long time before that, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteOops, forgot to choose a photo. I think it has to be one of Stone / Arabia Mountain. I've gone for the third photo on
Deletehttp://georgiagirlwithanenglishheart.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/colors-on-arabia-mountain-prayers-and.html because of the colours and a certain little figure in the distance!
Thanks, John!
DeleteI used to comment on blogs for years before I had my own blog, my goodness, my long comments must have driven people crazy. (They still do, I suppose!HA!)
My favorites of yours? I really love the nature ones that you have, the butterflies, the flowers, but having said that I also love post-boxes and any thing that is man-made that reminds me of England.
Wow, happy blog anniversary!! How nice to have a giveaway. I like so many of your nature pictures, so it's quite hard to choose a favourite! But I remember liking the myrtles in your Lightning post! My Mom showed them to me because we don't have flowers like that here :D
ReplyDeletePS -- I saw Mommy's comment in that post just now, and you asking her about the second package. She says yes! she saw your email! She says she was wanting to reply but kept not finding the time to. She hopes you liked it!!
Thanks, Rebecca!
DeleteI am happy that you liked the crepe myrtles, they are so beautiful when they bloom!
I love your photos so much, but I think I love the first one that you took of your baby brother and the one recently, of the little starfish on the beach.
Hey! Tell your Mom not to worry about replying to my email.
I LOVE that fish and Teddy Bear pin, and I was so happy to receive it :-)
Congratulations on two years of blogging! I was thinking what my favourite pic would be, and I knew it would be the fall/autumn colours around Arabia Mountain, so I started having a look back through some posts. Then I spotted the one of your dad with his dog on your post from Thanksgiving 2012, and I thought, that's it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracey!
DeleteYou know my favorite of yours would be the photos of the churches that you show us in England and the photos of the Cambridge American Cemetary.
I will tell my Dad you liked that photo when I see him today!
Well I have to tell you congrats!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Will I be meeing you anytime soon on top of Stone Mountain? ;-)
DeleteWoohoo, Kay, 2 years already!!! Tempus does fugit. Hee hee. Anyhow, picking my favorite photo on your blog is easy. I always loved the one of the red, double decker bus that you had as your header photo for a while!!!! I feel pretty sure it was taken on your last England trip. I'd go back through the posts to find it but it would probably take me all day! I hope you know the one I'm referring to.... XOXO
ReplyDeleteThanks, Audrey! Oh yes, the bus at Beachy Head, I know just the one you mean! Yes, that was in England and when you are in an open-top bus, hang on to your hat! xxx
Deletehappy blog anniversary! One of the photos I like is the one for Easter (March 31 of 2013) that shows a formation of rocks in the shape of a cross in a small pond, but...I absolutely love is the one you have entitled Bluebells- Color Me Happy! Bluebells make me smile just looking at them!
ReplyDeleteNonnie
Thanks, Connie!
DeleteI am glad you mentioned that photo of the rocks, that was at Arabia Mountain and my husband took that one. The one of me in the bluebells was taken by our son. I was thrilled to see those bluebells, the first time we had made it in time to see them bloom. xx
Now, how in the world could i ever be expected to pick one favorite!?! Happy Blog Anniversary, and any picture with a purple flower in it would be my favorite (i have as much purple as i can get!).
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mimi! You must have liked that tiny little purple flower that I had recently, covered in the raindrops!
DeleteThe bridge.... it has to be the bridge - I have a thing about bridges
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love bridges too. Functional, yet beautiful.
DeleteCongratulations on your blogversary! I love the photo of you in the bluebells in the column. Bluebells color me happy too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Lucky you, you can see bluebells in the Spring every year!
DeleteThat sounds like a lovely prize. I like the photos of the brown bird in the previous post.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am happy you liked the Brown Thrasher!
DeleteYou've made a wonderful contribution to the blogging world, and I congratulate you on your 2nd anniversary. Your cheerfulness and bright approach to life are a constant joy. I went back and looked at older postings, and I choose the Dec. 16, 2011- Dreaming of an English summer. Picture of Eastbourne - the blue fence and beach, first photo. I suppose because I dream of that summer almost constantly. :<)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nan! I LOVE your blog, and I can't be sure how long I had been reading it before I got my own blog but I know that I felt so sad when you decided to stop writing it, and very happy when you decided to keep it!
DeleteHappy you liked the photos from Eastbourne! It's a gorgeous spot, and one I hope to see again soon! xx
And the photos that you have on your blog that I really love are the ones of FOOD! (And the animal ones, too.)
Happy 2 year blogiversary! Yours was one of the first I came across and followed - it was the 84 Charing Cross Road post which drew me in. I'm so glad I did find you as you keep me constantly entertained and have a very unique and individual approach. How can I choose just one photo though? Well, I can't, I'm going to choose two and they were both taken by you! The field of sunflowers and your Dad on the kiddy tractor - both make me smile :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Julie! Thank you! And I am happy that you mentioned my 84 Charing Cross Road post, I loved that book and movie, maybe someone will see this and read the book or watch the movie! And the Sunflower Festival was so much fun, I love the photo of my Dad on the little tractor too, his zest for life just shines through, doesn't it?
DeleteI love all your photos because they remind me of England but you know what, I LOVE your header photo of your mantelpiece, it is a very calming and serene photo.
Wishing you many more years of blog enjoyment, Kay, and congrats on your blogiverary as a previous commenter called it, maybe there should be a new word for that celebration? I can't honestly say which photo would be my favorite since I don't recall all of them, but sure some lucky winner will appreciate your generous gift.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteAnd I must tell you that I loved your recent post about crepe myrtles, since I have admired the peeling bark on crepe myrtles for years, they are just the most beautiful trees, at any time of year!
Has it only been two years? Well, congratulations to you! Your blog is always interesting and beautiful to look at. I'm not writing to enter the competition; just wanted to say how much I appreciate you being here. May you continue blogging for many years to come . . . and it sounds like a nice joint venture, with your husband's photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sara! I had no idea how good my husband was at taking photos, until I started this blog!
DeleteAnd you know I love when you share a photo of something in the shape of a heart!
Richard's photos are wonderful. Love the brown thrasher photos. Thanks for the comment. I'm way behind schedule with my blogging. I have valued your posts and regular comments. Really great to have loyal readers.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paul. I love your photos from New Zealand from your runs and rides over your beautiful country.
DeleteDear Kay, you have a great blog! I still haven't read back all the way from whenI began reading...Still, one of my favorite pictures is the one of the curving bridge at Alexander Lake with all the reflections in the water. It is so wonderful from a design point of view. Just wonderful......
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! You have a wonderful blog too, I love the photos that you take of your family, your love for them just shines through.
DeleteOh, and I also love the one that you have as a header photo, the train with all the lovely evergreens around, it's lovely!
Is the new bridge at Alexander Lake done yet? Last time I walked that trail, they were working on it. I'd have to go back and complete that trek if it's done.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! It is finished (they call it a boardwalk) and it is waiting for you! You will love it! Didn't you see my post about it? The trail is now finished going over to the Nature Center at Panola Mountain, it is 1.7 miles from the barn alongside the Rockdale River Trail. They just put up the new signs, we hope to walk down it very soon!
DeleteDenzil,
DeleteI just checked with Panola Mountain and the trail to the Nature Center is NOT finished just yet. We walked on it for 1/2 mile from the barn and I won't tell you what they have built there, you will have to find out for yourself!
Dear Ms Kay, happy second anniversary! This is certainly a milestone for you and it's truly amazing how you continuously come up with interesting posts to share to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI love the fifth photo from this url: http://georgiagirlwithanenglishheart.blogspot.com/2013/08/boardwalk-at-alexander-lake-panola.html because the photographer was able to capture not just the wooden structure of the bridge but also its reflection on the water. And that truly looks so beautiful including the lush trees that look like a backdrop, making the entire photo like a postcard.
I appreciate your every visit to my blog. Happy weekend! :)
Oh thanks so much for your comment!!
DeleteI LOVE that you love that photo that Richard took of the reflection of the new boardwalk into the lake, I love it too!! Can't wait to see that view in the Autumn with all the colors!!
Ooh, happy anniversary -- how awesome! And o boy, a giveaway! Well, I think it's really hard to pinpoint a specific favourite picture -- you have so many beautiful shots. I especially love your nature/animal pictures, like the bird ones in the post just before this. But I do recall being struck by the huge yellow rose at your Dad's house (not physically lol) -- how beautiful to be surrounded by such blooms!
ReplyDeleteHi Janice!
DeleteOh boy, that is a good expression for you to use, what with your new baby boy and all!!!
I am happy you remember my Dad's big yellow rose. My Dad always loved flowers, we always had flowers growing up, always!
Oh dear - there are so many great pictures on your blog that I can not name a favourite one! I suppose that I especially like all the ones taken on Arabia mountain, plus the ones that show you and your lovely family in England, and your Dad who is such a wonderful man.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I am very glad I persisted with my "bullying" you into starting your own blog - look at how much it has grown, and gives both you and your many readers a lot of joy and food for thought.
You know, Meike, I think the photos that you name are the ones I love the most too! And you are right, my Dad is great!
Delete"Joy and food for thought", yes, I like that very much, thank you and thanks for "bullying" me to have my own blog, I appreciate it. I had no idea what a great photographer I had in my husband until I started this blog.
Hey Kay!
ReplyDeleteI put a link to your giveaway on my blog, and forgot to leave a comment here to say I would love to participate in the drawing! Does the video of your son singing at Christmas count as a favorite photo? That was my favorite. I have also enjoyed the flowers on your Stone and Arabia mountains. It's really tough to pick a favorite photo. I enjoy your blog so much because your joy and enthusiasm for life shines through. And I really appreciate your support of our military people! I can't wait for your future blogs!
Oh, you put a link to my giveaway on your blog, that's great, thank you! And yes, you are in the drawing now that you remembered to comment. LOL!!
DeleteI am so TICKLED that you mentioned my son and his singing at Christmas last year!! Did you see that he in is in a band now? The band is called "The Sevens" and I hope to be able to have a video of one of his performances very soon!!
I cannot thank you enough for this comment. You are such a wonderful writer that it thrills me to think that you read my blog. You have made my day!! (Like you, I have to MAKE myself not use exclamation marks!!)
