If you have been reading my blog, you have seen Arabia Mountain in the Autumn, Winter and Spring. No matter what the calendar says, it is more like late Spring or early Summer on the mountain. The diamorpha (the red stuff) has grown much taller and, for the most part, the while flowers have bloomed out on them. The lovely little white flowers (stitchwort) have now gone to seed and are now the color of wheat. There is a beautiful blue flower that is now in bloom, but I will have to wait until I see Richard since I can't remember the name of it. Just recently, we passed a couple walking up the mountain and I heard the young woman say, "Is this it? It's just a rock."

Arabia Mountain "Just A Rock"

Great pictures, Kay! Just a rock. Indeed. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kay! And we are just women, aren't we? :-)
DeleteJust a rock? Understatement of the year! I'd love to live in such a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteArabia Mountain is not far from us but it feels like a very faraway place when we are there.
ReplyDeleteLol, I would have loved to see the look on your face when you overheard that statement!! It's a gorgeous spot and I love that you take us along on your visits. I'm seeing hearts today in three pics.. can you guess which ones?
ReplyDeleteDear Jane,
DeleteHa! I am not a good actress, so I am sure I raised my eyebrows a bit! Hmmm...let's see, three hearts, could it be...the three photos in the middle,(the 7th, 8th and 9th photos?)..let me know and then I can see them too! :-) You are welcome to go along with us to Arabia any time!
You little tease! I had some congealed fat in a
Deleteroasting pan (lovely image!) yesterday and it was the south coast of England! We just can't stop, can we?
There is no stopping us...are you sure you couldn't make out the profile of Tom Cruise in that pan of grease somewhere? I'm sure HE would think so!
Delete"Just a rock", eh? Gosh, Kay, I bet you would have loved to say a thing or two to that young lady!!!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I feel sorry for anyone not able to see this beauty. Remember the man who said "This is heaven" as he walked up? I wanted to take her and introduce her to THAT young man! :-)
DeleteI think it is an example of what it means when God glorifies a thing, even when it seems to have been "just a rock".
ReplyDeleteOh yes, absolutely! And it is glorious, it truly is.
DeleteThanks so much for your comment!
That's "just a rock" in the same way our south Louisiana bayous are "just a bunch of trees." Some people.
ReplyDeleteDear Mimi,
DeleteIt is like seeing the ocean and saying, "It's just a lot of water"! And remember Chevy Chase seeing the Grand Canyon in National Lampoon's Vacation? :-)
'Just a rock'. Could you not have stopped and lent her some soul - she obviously has none!
ReplyDeleteHey John!
DeleteOh, you do make me laugh. I can just see me saying, "Excuse me, may I lend you a soul since you obviously don't have one?" HA, she might have thrown me down the mountain! :-) (I think she might have only been talked into going there by her boyfriend, your attitude has a lot to do with your view of things, don't you think?
What a gorgeous place!
ReplyDeleteDear Sandy,
DeleteIf you have several HOURS to kill, you can put "Arabia Mountain" into that search engine in the right hand side of my blog and see lots of photos of Arabia and also Stone Mountain (that is Stone Mountain in my header photo.) I love both of these places and try to go there as much as I can.
Just a rock and then some... It's too bad some people merely look but don't see. I wish a had a place like this right behind my home, so I can walk through it whenever I need quiet time to meditate and find my balance. It's beautiful, Kay, and you are fortunate to have it nearby. Gorgeous photos, by the way.
ReplyDeleteDear Martha,
DeleteThank you! I hope you don't get too tired of hearing me talk about Arabia, but it is an extraordinary place.
You need to visit Atlanta and walk both Stone Mountain and Arabia Mountain! And then, go to a beach in Florida! There, got your next vacation all planned! :-)
I'm the type of person who could get lost in a small puddle inside of an old tree trunk. So I can't pretend to understand someone who would say "this is just a rock".....nor would I want to!
ReplyDeleteDear Audrey,
DeleteME TOO! Sometimes we go, only meaning to stay a short while and it turns into hours! Hope you are enjoying your "Harry Winston"! :-)
