Ready for some of Richard's wonderful photos of the lovely Spring? Hope you enjoy!
Fringe flower. The flower petals are long and bright pink. Richard got this shot of the bud before it burst into bloom. The color is just stunning!
This was on one of our overcast days, but trust me, it's gorgeous.
Beaver alert! You can see how the beaver has cut this tree down. Do you also see how it looks as if it also took giant bites from the felled tree? I looked it up and that is just what they do, they only eat the inner bark, apparently. "Just give me the tender bark, Sylvia". Ha, ha...anybody know why I chose the name, "Sylvia"?
Sylvia is feminine given name of Latin origin, also spelled SILVIA.
The name originates from the Latin word for forest SILVA and its meaning is spirit of the wood.
Lilacs in blooms! I was so excited to see them (and smell them!) I wonder if it is rare that they bloom in Georgia. I really have only seen them when I was visiting England. So pretty against a blue sky!
The Eastern Swallowtail butterfly was very fluttery over this pink azalea. The only reason the butterfly is out of focus is because it is moving, Richard is as steady as a rock!
There, this one landed and was still for just a split second...
Happy Easter to you and your family, dear Kay! Wonderful spring pictures, thank you for sharing them, and thans to Richard for taking them!
ReplyDeleteI will post about our Easter weekend soon, we had some lovely walks among orchard trees in bloom.
Look forward to your walks in the orchards! Happy spring to you and OK and your family!
DeleteWhat pretty pink Spring flowers you have over there. I know both those hymns and sing them with my church choir. I was trying to spot if the Queen was singing, but did not catch her with her lips moving :) Happy Easter Kay.
ReplyDeleteHaha! It would be even funnier to see her singing "God Save the Queen"! Happy spring to you, but your season is opposite so it will start cooling down for you, right?
DeleteFotos excellent as always!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Thanks! Happy Easter to you also!
DeleteHappy Easter! Such beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I love flowers, when they are wildflowers that makes them extra special.
DeleteI love lilacs too! We have lots in Canada but they don't bloom until well into May. Hope your Easter was happy!
ReplyDeleteLilacs! I was surprised to see them! Happy Easter, Debra!
DeleteHappy Easter Kay! Spring is just bursting out everywhere. Lovely images of this beautiful time of year.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Bet no one else will show you a gnawed off tree on their blog!😊 Happy Easter!
DeleteHappy Easter and Happy Spirng. It is such a beautiful time of year. Alleluia, He is risen! Spring seems to be my favorite season of all. So much new and bright and blooming. Eye candy for sure !
ReplyDeleteHe is Risen indeed. Alleluia! Bright and blooming,Spring puts on a show.
DeleteHappy Easter to you! Your flower pics are lovely. I love lilacs and hope we will have many blooms this year. Last year they were froze out! We had perfect weather yesterday but because of my broken wrist we're putting off celebrating with the kids until May. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHope you are healing fast! May will be here before you know it!
DeleteRichard has a talent for pictures. They are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You know I appreciate Richard's photography skills, glad you do too!
DeleteHappy Easter, Kay. The pictures give me hope that spring will arrive soon here in Connecticut. I saw many signs of spring last week in North Carolina.
ReplyDeleteHey Ed! Glad you made it South in time for the yellow pollen!😊
DeleteA blessed and beautiful Happy Easter to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteThe very same to you!!
DeleteLovely pictures. Hope your Easter was nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too. It was truly lovely.
DeleteLovely images, Kay. I hope you and your loved ones had a relaxed, safe and very Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteMine, by choice, was quiet...and enjoyable...just me and my two furry mates, other than an hour or two I spent up at my landlords' home to present their visiting three little grandchildren with a bag full of delicious sweet treats. I am naughty...but I can't help it! :)
The kiddies would be very disappointed if I didn't at Christmas and Easter present them with such treats!) That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! :)
Your Easter sounds lovely! I daresay the kids shared some sweets with you! Guess what, lots of blossoms on LEE the lemon tree, this year! Fingers crossed they all turn into lemons!!
DeleteI was thinking about you just a few minutes ago, Kay...I was looking at my little lemon tree which is presently once again loaded with fruit I'm eagerly waiting upon to ripen! :)
DeleteNo...the kids didn't even offer me any of the sweets! lol
What are kids like?? Oh well!! Did I tell you that I also have a lemon tree the I planted from seed? It's small but growing well. No blooms on it yet but I'm hopeful. My other one..."Lee" is doing so well and is loaded with blossoms! The fragrance is divine, which you already know!#
DeleteGood selection of photos. Spring always brings a touch of sparkle to the world.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bob! Ah, a touch of sparkle...that sounds like magic, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! Well done capturing the butterfly, that's not an easy task. Enjoyed the hymn. Glad you had a nice Easter.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy! You're not kidding, butterflies are fluttery and fast! I love hymns! Hope you are well and enjoying your Spring. xx
DeleteThank you, Richard for those lovely spring photos. I really do miss celebrating spring here in Hawaii where we pretty much have one continuous season. Kay, those butterflies are so pretty. I've seen a few swallowtails in Hawaii but no longer many monarchs which is sad.
ReplyDeleteIt's always Spring/Summer in Hawaii! Sounds great to me! Take care, Kay. Love to Art and your Mom. xx
