"Secret Agent Man"! The song was a big hit for Johnny Rivers. It was the theme song from the TV show "Secret Agent Man". Did you know it was "Danger Man" in the UK? I didn't, I just it read it on Wikipedia! (I am addicted to Wikipedia, shh....don't tell anyone!) The TV show ran from 1964 to 1966. To be honest, I don't even remember the show very much, but I love the song! I told my son about this video and he agrees that it is a great song with a simple but very effective guitar riff.
Now as for this video I have here for you...it is Johnny Rivers performing the song from 2018! At the age of 77! And he is still ROCKING it! Listen to the video and see if you don't agree! Enjoy!

I was able to see the Fire Pinks at Panola Mountain State Park recently. How much I look forward to this flower! It is such a vivid red color! Rock & Roll!
Hope you are all doing okay! Take care, everyone. Remember, music and flowers!
Music and flowers , two wonderful things for all of us. Kay, I hope all of you are well and enjoying some music and flowers. :) Blessings stay safe, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHello, sweet Susie! Sending love to you and your Teddy bear! xx
DeleteHope you can hear the video! I love to see anyone older than I am with all their marbles! LOL.
He can still rock it! TFS!
ReplyDeleteAND he is older than me! I love that more than anything.
DeleteHe's great! Though I do always remember I had a friend who thought the words were "secret Asian man". That flower is so gorgeous, such exciting color! And I guess from what you are saying that it is a wildflower?
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the Fire Pink is a wildflower and a very pretty one! I was so excited the first year I discovered it! Since then, I always look for it. They have them all over this area, one of the books written by the monks from the Monastery has a photo of the Fire Pink, so I know they are there also!
DeleteWhat an beautiful flower. It is outstanding !
ReplyDeleteFirst time I saw it, it stopped me in my tracks! It did!
DeleteSo, I look for it in late May and early June. Haven't been disappointed yet!
Nice, unusual flower. Thanks for posting, Kay.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gigi! Hope you and David are well. Aloha!
DeleteI remember watching "Secret Agent Man" on CBC when I was a kid. That song still rocks!
ReplyDeleteI barely remember that one. I have more memories of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E", I was in love with Illya Kuryakin!
DeleteBecause of slower delivery times I am still without sound on my computer. I do remember the song very well. By the way I would have fought you for Illya Kuryakin. Beauty and brains is an attractive package.
ReplyDeleteI had so many "loves" in those days! Wish you could hear the song, you would love it I am sure! Take care!
DeleteOh, Johnny Rivers (John Henry Ramistella) is a hometown hero here!
ReplyDeleteA very good friend of ours went to high school with him, and tells the story of back when John Henry was prone to a bit of troublemaking.
This friend cornered him one day after school and told him, "Ramistella, let me tell you something. You have a great talent, a talent I wish I had. And I've heard about what you and some of the boys are planning, and you better stay out of it, and stay out of trouble, because if you ruin your chances of using your talent and becoming famous, I'm going to personally beat you to a pulp!"
John Henry knew this schoolmate could do it, he was a football player and if he hit another kid that kid went down. He didn't get involved in any real trouble after that, and to this day he credits that friend with helping him and keeping him on the right path.
We all need friends like that.
Thank you so much for this! I LOVE this story!
DeleteI read that he was told that he needed to change his name for the music business and since he had been talking of the Mississippi river, they decided that Johnny Rivers it would be!
I can just bet that he is a hometown hero, I don't blame you at all for being proud of him.
Guess I don't have to ask YOU if you liked the video!! :-)
(And I would like to go back and add to this post, but doggone it, this new way of doing things now, I am fearful I will mess it up.)
Please say thank you to your friend that John Henry Ramistella was able to fulfill his destiny!
The series was called "Danger Man" here, too.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Kay.... :)
Hey Lee! I had no idea it was called that but I asked my husband and of course, he knew! :-)
DeleteBe good, Lee and wear that mask!
(We think alike, I was thinking of the JIm Croce song, BAd Leroy Brown!)
I remember that song!!! Wikipedia is definitely my encyclopedia these days!
