Funny How Time Slips Away

Hello, my friends! Hope you are all doing well. So glad that March is here now. I was sick for the whole month of February! Honestly, the entire month.  I have never been to a doctor twice in the same month but that was Feb. for you. I dislike it so much I intend to abbreviate it from now on, it does not deserve to be spelled out!

Did you see the snow in the UK just now? I hope my friends in Scotland are okay. It looks so cold...

Our spring is coming on quickly, our cherry trees don't look yet like the photo below but it won't be long now! (Those aren't in MY yard, I wish they were! We have exactly three cherry trees but they are quite large and the blossoms are gorgeous.)

In my illness...I might have had "flu brain". I hope that you will forgive me for any strange comments that I might have left on your posts...you are thinking, why they are just as odd as they have ever been!

The Academy of Country Music Awards were announced today.
"Funny How Time Slips Away" by Glen Campbell and Willie Nelson is nominated for "Vocal Event of the Year".

Sadly, Glen Campbell died last year but his last album was "Adios" and this song with Willie Nelson was on that album.  (The songs were recorded in 2012 and 2013 but the album release date was June 2017, just two months before Glen Campbell's death.

I have always loved Glen Campbell's voice and his superb guitar playing, and to have Willie singing with him...a song that Willie wrote himself!  I think it is truly special.

  3. Poor you! No wonder you are glad to see the back of February. March can only be better, right!
The cherry trees are so beautiful. It will be at least two more months before ours bloom here. Let's just hope last year's disastrous icy rain won't happen again; it destroyed up to 80 % of orchard and vineyard crops for many farmers.

    1. Feb. is the month that I just need to take the whole month off from work and fly away to a beach somewhere!
Oh no, I hope you don't have that killing ice again, killing the vineyards that makes those good German wines, NOOOOOO!

  4. Dear Kay, I am so sorry to hear about your illness for the whole month of Feb. I hope it is behind you now! You need good health to enjoy the spring! We're having a return of "winter wonderland" up here but spring IS on the way. Actually my snowdrops are blooming, but I don't think this will wreck them. With flowers and music March will turn into a lamb soon. May it be so.

    1. May it be so! Thank you! It could have been worse but dang, it just lasted so long! Oh well, just wanted to let my fellow bloggers know that my brain was not 100% and also why I haven't been blogging much lately. Hope YOU are well! :-)

  5. That's a sweet number. I didn't really appreciate Glen Campbell's talents until relatively recently - C&W has never been a favourite. But I did enjoy that. Really sorry to hear you've been under the weather, Kay - hope all is tickety-boo now! And, talking of weather, yes - Scotland and other parts of the UK have had some pretty bad weather. As you know, it's relatively rare in most parts, so we don't cope well with it when it happens!

    1. Hey Mike!
I don't know if you will come back and see this but I can't leave any comments on your blog and dang, that is so frustrating! You know I have things I want to say!
Tickety-boo! I love that expression, thank you for wishing that for me! :-)

  6. I'm sorry to learn you've not been well, Kay. I hope you're on the up and up now...and 100% better.

Great song by two great artists. And, yes...Glen Campbell was a brilliant guitarist...something I think many overlook.

I love the music of both Nelson and Campbell; always have done so.

    1. Thanks for going along with my FEB idea!
The Bradford pears are just about to lose their blossoms and they have been spectacular this year, must be the very warm weather. The cherries are just now beginning to bloom!

  9. So sorry that Feb (I abbreviated you see) wasn't a good month for you. Sounds like our December with my husband's heart surgery. It kind of wasn't December. Hope you are feeling better now, but this year's flu season has been brutal. Takes quite a while to feel yourself again. Happily, we avoided it - I was ruthless with hand washing and also with almost literally pushing people away and banning them from our house. We both had flu shots, but he definitely didn't need an illness with sneezing and coughing and, since I was his caregiver, I didn't either. People (including family) were kind of odd about it - told me I was being 'mean' and 'phobic' - so what? LOL LOL

Love the cherry tree picture. I am so ready for wildflowers here. Can't wait. Here's to a better March for you, Kay.

    1. Hey Kay! I so understand you saying "it kind of wasn't December", it is has if the month just didn't happen...it is strange. Hope your hubby is better now! Take good care, both of you and realize that it takes time to get over something as major as heart surgery!
It was hard to not get the flu when I had co workers who came to work with the flu coughing all over the place! (I didn't go to the work while I had the flu, I wish others had followed my lead!) I also took the flu shot but...still got the flu. I read it was only 30% effective. Hey, I am with you on the handwashing! Also, I didn't see my Dad for weeks because I was afraid I might still be germy!
Thank you for your well wishes, Kay. Lovely to see your comment here. Made my day!

  10. I totally understand the flu brain. It zapped me here too. Glen Campbell and Willie Nelson deserve the nomination. Two greats for sure! We have snow in Ohio today. March came in like a lion.

My brain struggles enough, it does not need any illness to slow it down! LOL!

    1. Well, I didn't mention it but I was also sick for half of January too!
Spring always makes me feel better. We need to jet off to the Caribbean the day after Christmas and then, return ...oh about the 7th of March. What do you say?
I think that is the answer for me. LOL!

    1. I remember it very well. Wasn't it great? The thing I remember, besides the obvious musical talent of the man himself, Glen Campbell had so much JOY in presenting those on his show, and you could tell how much he admired them.

  16. I too had the 'horrid flu'. I am very very rarely ill and that bug totally wiped me out. It takes so long to get over too.
Glen Campbell I utterly adored... he is a huge loss to the music industry, what a voice.

  17. I hope March will be a better month for you Kay. The snow here is starting to melt at last after a week of almost continuous white everywhere and knee deep pavements so we may yet see green fields again.
