Thou Art Thy Mother's Glass

Thou art thy mother's glass, and she in thee
Calls back the lovely April of her prime...

Sonnet 3, Shakespeare

Christopher liked this t shirt so much he got me the same one too.
Does it remind you of a Beatles song?  You know the one, I bet you can guess it, can't you?  "Picture yourself in a boat on the river"...there, that's an easy clue!

Here is a great video of the Beatles singing "We Can Work It Out". I love that song.  "Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend."

=========================================================

I am always trying to get my son to read my blog.  Maybe he will read this post!  (You know I love you, Christopher!)

I wish you all a safe and happy weekend. Mind how you go.

    1. Yes, I wonder how often I embarrassed my son as he was growing up, I hate to think of it!

    1. I know! We need to make it into an anthem and make people sing it over and over! Let's have a "We Can Work It Out" rally! Oh, but then, someone would argue the best way to do it! :-) Happy Sunday, Martha!

  10. Wonderful, wonderful words by Shakespeare. There isn't much he didn't talk about, is there? I love the tee shirt, and the photo of you two. My kids don't read the blog either, even if there is something about their children! However, my mother-in-law may just be my biggest fan. She says the nicest things about my posts.

  15. There are so many tales of the origin of Lucy. The Beatles claimed that Julian had made a picture when he was very young. The girl in the picture was supposed to be Lucy... in the sky with diamonds. They have since admitted that it was about LSD.

    1. Don't you think it was a little of both? Julian most certainly made the drawing of his friend Lucy but John Lennon, being a songwriter, also would have made the connection with LSD and therefore, this song.
      Sometimes it is not one or the other, it is the combination of the two.
      By the way, Julian Lennon...my husband has him on Facebook, and he is an outstanding man, just a really great guy, very concerned for the world and all the people on it. (Sean Lennon also, John would be proud of both, I think.)

  16. I had my sister read my blog at one point. I think it's better if the family doesn't. But that's just my perspective. It made me afraid to say certain things. As a mother you could just berate Christopher until he does. Never doubt the power a mother has over her son.

    1. You might think I have great influence over my son but alas, he is like his English father, very polite and then they pretty much do their own thing and don't pay one bit of attention to me!
      Maybe you are right, best the family doesn't read my blog. They would never guess at how sweet I come across here, they might think it is someone else! HA!
