Very excited to tell you that our son, Christopher is in this band! They call themselves "The 7's" and they are just GREAT! Richard and I just saw them in another performance last night, Sept. 13th, and I hope to have some of the songs from that concert but for now, I have the song "Like A Twig" which was recorded back in July. (I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song...Christopher and Tim wrote the song together but I think that Tim told me last night when he heard me singing it as we left, "Your son wrote that melody!" Oh, wait, was that another song?...Hmmm...I can't remember, they are all catchy tunes!) Could they be the next great songwriting team? Let's hope so!
Now, Richard took this video with just our little camera, but I love how he tried to get all the members of the band in the clip...even though it was so incredibly dark at Smith's Olde Bar!
(Jim is on drums, Wes on the bass guitar, Christopher, with the red guitar and and Tim, with the blue guitar. ) Keep in mind this video was from the very first time they had EVER been on a stage as a band!! I think that they did a wonderful job, I thought they sounded very polished and professional. (Richard even moved the camera over towards the end of the song to show me enjoying the music, but it is so DARK, you can't see me, which is always a good thing, don't you know.)
The Sevens could really use your support. If you are on Facebook, please go to their Facebook page and "LIKE" them! And tell your friends too!! https://www.facebook.com/thesevensofficial
I am thanking you in advance. My blogging friends are just the best and I appreciate you more than you could ever know.
You will hear more about The Sevens from me , I PROMISE! :-)
Also, more to come about Arabia Mountain, Panola Mountain and the crazy squirrels in my backyard! Whoa, I don't know if y'all can stand the excitement!
Richard just had a birthday recently...here he is from last year with our son, and I took this photo on top of Arabia Mountain. My favorite guys on one of my favorite places on Earth! (I am going to tell C. that he needs to SMILE more while he is on stage. He has THE most beautiful smile, don't you think?)
Happy Birthday to Richard and YES, they both have gorgeous smiles and YES, it would be wonderful for Christopher to smile while of stage. That will let people know he's enjoying himself. Then again, don't bands usually not smile so much because they're concentrating on the music?
ReplyDeleteGranted my nephew is blind, but I do notice he's concentrating so he's not smiling a whole lot. Then, every so often a smile will break through, and it makes us all smile.
Yes, I am sure that you are right, he was concentrating on the music besides being a bit nervous too, no doubt!
DeletePlease, if you can, tell your nephew to listen to this clip and let us know what he thinks...C. would love that!!
Thanks for the compliments on my two smiling handsome fellows!!
Oh, I've been waiting for you to post this video ever since you told us about The Sevens' first gig. They sound great! Very polished, you're right. Wishing them much success!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH, Debra!! It makes me so happy that you like this too! I knew you would, you have such good taste!! C. will appreciate your kind remarks too, thank you. xx
DeleteAre you his agent? Do you get 15%?
ReplyDeleteNo, I only tell you about things that I truly love, haven't you noticed? I don't have any ads on my blog either.
DeleteHonestly, I love this music and just wanted to share it.
Music, created and performed by own son.
Wow! I liked it very much, you must be very proud of him.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday to your husband.
Oh! I am THRILLED that you liked it!! Keep an eye out for this band, they are just in the early stages and could use some positive vibes from people, I thank you for yours!
DeleteANd thanks for the birthday wishes for Richard! :-)
I enjoyed it so much I went on YouTube and watched some of their other videos. My favourite was 'Run on my love' and I loved Christopher's guitar solo. Very catchy and as good as anything I've heard on the radio. No wonder you're such a proud mama :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all your lovely comments about my Morecambe post and yes, I'm happy for you to link to it. xxx
JULIE!! I am so TICKLED that you looked further and found "Run On My Love"! I LOVE that one too! ANd I LOVE C's guitar solo in that one too!!! When we saw this in concert, we had NO idea that he would do the guitar solo so we were very surprised!! And I so agree, I think it is way better than what I am hearing on the radio!!
DeleteThanks so much for your FANTASTIC post on Morecambe, I will let you know when I do that post!
Thanks again for your sweet comment, C. will be tickled too! xxx
What a lovely song. I used to manage a band so I have a bit of experience in this. The Sevens are very talented. Do not be discouraged by sound quality. Even bars with good acoustics do not allow the true sounds to be heard. And of course there are other noises to be heard in the background. I can understand why you are a proud mother.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!! You are so right about the sound quality! It truly sounded better live than on this video, but even at the concert itself, there were so many people talking at times, that it was hard to hear!
DeleteYou know that my son will read these comments and he will be very happy to read yours, thank you!
I love music, Kay, and I loved this! It's hard to believe that this was their first time on stage. Yes, C. has a great smile ~ but so does your R.!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Louise, I am happy that you like this too!
DeleteOh yes, they both have wonderful smiles!! :-)
Kay!!!! It's awesome. Christopher sounds so great and the 7's sound great. I loved the video. Happy, Happy Birthday to Richard!!! They both have lovely smiles. You have much to be proud of!!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteAudrey!!! It was so great!! I am so glad you liked it, too!!
Delete(Richard has a September birthday, like someone else in your family!!)
Tell your friends to like them on Facebook! I don't do Facebook myself, but I know most people do!!
Happy birthday to Richard. your header photo is lovely!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Richard. your header photo is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda and I think this is your first visit to me, so thank you! And look back at my blog if you want to see more photos of Stone Mountain and Arabia Mountain, you will be on here for hours! LOL!!!
DeletePlease visit me again.
I love your liony picture. xx
"Purveyors of aural pleasure." What a great sentence - and so appropriate.
ReplyDeleteThe sound on that video is excellent - well done Richard (And many happy returns to you).
JOHN! Hey! I hope you are feeling better these days! Thanks for your comment!
Delete"Purveyors of aural pleasure"...yes, I thought a wordsmith such as yourself would appreciate that! Thanks!
And I am pleased that you appreciated Richard's efforts at the video, is there no end to my husband's talents?
O, happy birthday Richard! And yes, Christopher does have a lovely smile, one that lights him up! The band sounds wonderful, you must be so proud. P.S. Thank you so much for your kind words, they really meant a lot to me *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janice!! You are so right about C's smile, and I hope he reads this!! Enjoy your little baby boy, they grow up so quickly!!
DeleteAlso, please let your sweet Rebecca know that if I look at a blog that has a lot of photos, my old computer cannot handle it, and it goes down and I can't leave comments, so, don't let her think I have forgotten her, I saw her post about "staycation" but could not comment!
They are talented! A good melody and words.
ReplyDeleteThey are better than some of the groups that are out there today. Hopefully an agent will discover them.
I wish them he best.

Good melody and words...that is what I wish I DID hear on the radio right now!!!
DeleteThanks so much for your comment, I appreciate it! :-)
I agree with you Ms Kay, they sound professional! I like the blending of their voices; very soothing to the ears. And is Richard the main soloist (or whatever you call it coz the video is quite dark)? Tell them please to continue honing their skills. Through this video, they could be discovered too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for listening and for your comment!
DeleteYes! It is our son who is the frontman! (Christopher is his name, but don't worry, half the time I get my son and husband's names mixed up too!!!) xx
The other young man, Tim Allen has a wonderful voice too and is a great guitarist!! I love how their voices blend and Tim's skill on the guitar. Having said that, C. is the one who had the guitar solo on "Run On My Love"! Go and listen to that one on Youtube, it's great too! :-)
Ah, no wonder why you are so proud of Christopher! What talent! I like this music a lot and wish them every success!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I am so glad you like this music too. These guys need some positive vibes and I thank you for yours!! :-)
DeleteBelated Happy Birthday to Richard, and congratulations to Christopher and the other band members for such a great first performance! You are right, they look and sound very professional. And while I agree with your saying that Christopher has a great smile, he need not necessarily be smiling on stage all the time - unless it fits the mood of the song, or while he is talking to the audience, of course :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your birthday wishes for Richard and for the best wishes for The 7's!!!
DeleteOf course, I know he cannot be smiling all the time (that would look forced and strange) but if you ever see the last song that they did at this concert, "I Can Get Funky Enough", he had relaxed a bit by the end and he smiled a bit more and it was very NOTICEABLE, if you see what I mean!
When I put this photo on my post, I realized how much I would have liked to have have seen this radient smile from C., you can't blame me, it lights up his whole face and the whole stage!! Honestly!!
Thanks for your comment, Meike, I think you might have been busy, I notice you have not posted in almost a week! xx (Which is fine, of course, I just always hope you are okay!!)
Thank you, dear friend, for your concern. Indeed, I have been very busy as of late, and this will remain so until about the middle of October. Also, when RJ is here, I do not go online much, and he stopped at my place for a few days last week and the weekend; we go to work together from here, and then were out for most of the weekend as well.
DeleteBut don't worry, I am very well - just, as I said, very busy :-)
Oh good! I am glad that someone is having fun these days!
DeleteCongrats to your son! What an accomplishment. Yes, he does have a great smile!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you like it! And he does have a RADIANT smile!
Delete(HA! See I spelled it wrong in my last comment!!) :-)
How awesome! He is so talented, thanks for sharing, Kay. Happy Birthday to Richard!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words! My son will read these comments so I thank you for yours!
DeleteAnd I will pass on the good wishes to Richard too! xx
Kay, I am wishing Richard a great b-day. Your son sounds very good . I like the song too. I wish them much luck...tell them to try out for America's Got talent. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susie, for your good wishes for Richard and for your positive comments for The Sevens!! I really appreciate it! xx
DeleteI went and liked the band and I listened to his song - they are pretty good - now I can say I know them when they are famous. sandie
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I know that The Sevens appreciate it too!
DeleteThe sound of the video is not perfect, they really are very, very good, so look out for them, coming to a venue near you!! (We hope.)
Thanks, Sandie, I appreciate your comment! xx
Have just caught up with your blog. You should be very proud of your son - that tune was very catchy - would you believe that I am actually humming it? Tell him that his fame has spread all the way across the Ocean to the Outer Hebrides.
ReplyDeleteGot your email and will reply shortly.x
Oh yes, Pat, I most certainly will tell him, thanks so much!
DeleteALl the tunes are catchy, if you notice, there are some more songs on Youtube by them and they are all so good!
Hope you are doing well. I will think of you the next time I am at Stone Mountain!!
Oh! And the header photo with all the Yellow Daisies? It's from Stone Mountain!!
DeleteWow, Kay, they are great! You must be beaming with pride. Nothing like watching your kid on stage performing. I wish them success! And happy belated birthday to Richard!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Martha! I'm glad you like them too! Of course, I am proud of him but I also really like the music. These days, most of what passes for music I don't really care for.
DeleteThanks for R'.s belated birthday wishes! :-)
This is great Kay, you must be so proud! He'll know he's made it big when I interview him! Ha! Belated birthday greetings to Richard.
ReplyDeleteI will do all that I can to make sure that YOU are the very first one to interview the famous CHRISTOPHER from the THE SEVENS!!! Happy you like the music.
DeleteThanks for the birthday wishes for Richard. :-)
The are really good. I can fully understand why you are so excited. I have been and liked them on FB
